I think you're right. I just made a new mission. Three drops with solid AUTO releases and different altitudes. 9k, 15k, 22k 3 for 3. Also that the bomb mode defaults to AUTO when you make a new mission. Before it said CCIP and stayed in CCIP until target designate. For anyone who has this AUTO drop issue, try this and report back. One thing I noticed though is the TTI counter is about 1 second behind. It will go to zero then impact about 1 second later.

I like it. Adds more immersion to the sim. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro -
[REPORTED] F/A 18 LGB won't switch from CCIP to Auto?
Eagle7907 replied to Grifter's topic in Bugs and Problems
Right. But shouldn't you be able to tell the jet you want to do an AUTO release before designation? I don't really know if this is correct as is or something wrong. I don't have the docs to show it is correct or not. In the video the OP provides it doesn't change, but Wags still makes the motion to select AUTO.:dunno: -
If I may, its not just high altitude. It's any altitude using AUTO. The AUTO geometry for release is somehow not correct for some. Like someone else suggested, if you release about 20 on the counter at high altitude in CCIP (15 medium, 10 low), pickle, then lase. Works like a charm. This was on Caucasus map, any starting position.

[REPORTED] F/A 18 LGB won't switch from CCIP to Auto?

Yep I noticed this too. After you select AUTO from the menu, it doesn't change. It remains CCIP. :dunno: -
[REPORTED] TGP Zoom Affects Radar Elevation
Eagle7907 replied to ESCOMM_Miranda's topic in Bugs and Problems
Ah, that’s what I was doing as well. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro -
Most overweight landings don’t result in catastrophic damage. Usually they end up being a ruptured seal or a blown tire. Depending on the actual weight, the strut integrity, especially with the size for the hornet, probably wouldn’t get damaged or wouldn’t make the airplane cart wheel or break apart in three pieces. The damage would cause an airframe to be down for a few hours for repair. Now for trapping with 51,000 lbs vs 33,000lbs? I’d be surprised if the cable or hook would hold, yet alone the struts be still on the bottom. That’s a lot of force. F =ma Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

[REPORTED] TGP Zoom Affects Radar Elevation
Eagle7907 replied to ESCOMM_Miranda's topic in Bugs and Problems
I’ve been having issues as well. After doing 4-6 releases I come back to the radar and it’s all messed up. It will show a 2 bar scan but the altitude block shows -99 over -99. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro -
[iNVESTIGATING] Bombing with LGBs and Tpod Hmm. I’ll try that and see. If that’s the case, somehow my install didn’t get that fix. Bingo. Switched to CCIP and released with counter at 15. Lase, good impact. Edit: Actually 15 is pretty close. I recommend something like 20-25 remaining on the counter to switch to CCIP and release. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Still not working for me. On a hunch I tried CCIP and it worked. Tracks are posted in my thread. The big new guy is checking it out.

I did everything to the letter. No impacts using AUTO. CCIP works great.

Tracks Would thrice do, me'lord? The links are cut off, but you got air start, ramp start, runway start. https://www.dropbox.com/s/8xe6d90z8kxlaek/runwaystart.trk?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/jn0y6yfupkkenlo/rampstart.trk?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/p3rgy3er69espc1/airstart.trk?dl=0

I’ll make one shortly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Just did a CCIP release with lasing after release. Good impact. It’s not the pod, or maybe it is since its providing target telemetry to the computer for a release point. Whatever may be, something isn’t being calculated right. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

[MISSING TRACK FILE] Bombing with LGBs and Tpod For AUTO the falling cue on the fall line. For CCIP, the plus symbol over the target. Just did a test without using the laser for CCIP drop and it impacts past the target like it should. For some reason, AUTO is not releasing correctly for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

My suspicions are correct. Just did the same steps, except I did CCIP drops. Good impacts. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

So in another thread, I am trying to figure out what I’m doing incorrect. I’m sure Wags is working on a video as I write this, but everyone else is having success with LGBs except me and I’ve followed all their steps given. What happens is the laser, I assume, is firing at release, but in AUTO mode, the release geometry is having the bomb too high to see the spot from the TGP. I’ve tried different methods and release altitudes. Releasing then shoot laser. Shoot laser then release. 20k high. 9k high. Still same profile without any laser tracking. Here’s my setup. Master Arm AG mode Select LGB Set lase code EFUZ inst MFUZ off Mode Auto Pod On SS to Flir Find target, TDC down to designate LSD Arm Fly towards target Pickle button press and hold 10 sec before cue Weapon releases Squeeze trigger L Arm goes to LTD/R TTI counter goes to zero No impact Go to F6 view and bomb is gliding past target with without guidance. Like I said, I tried lasing before release, but I get same result. Edit: Also noticed you don’t have to squeeze the whole flight for CCIP. Just squeeze once and the laser will continue to lase. What functions does TGP accomplish? I noticed your release altitude is low. I’m trying to release at 20k. Does it work for you that high? Just did everything as described. Still flys over. [emoji20] I’m going to start a new thread in case this becomes common later on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Nope. I thought maybe it would be me changing the views, but no impact. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

What functions does TGP accomplish? I thought that might be my problem but it’s not. Wait. Is that a separate mode on the MFD? Or just the LST switch? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Not yet. HUD symbology comes later. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

What functions does TGP accomplish? Curious, what’s your release altitude? I’m thinking I am too high, like the release geometry might be off. Bomb can’t see the laser spot. It does say LTD/R when I squeeze. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

What functions does TGP accomplish? Funny my LGBs are not tracking. Must be doing something wrong. Check me please. Laser arm Trig boxed AG mode Master arm LGBs selected EFUZ inst Mfuz off Auto mode Code set to 1688 same as tpod Designate target Pickle weapon Squeeze gun trigger for entire flight. But still flys over target. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
