Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 3
IASGATG replied to gregzagk's topic in Multiplayer
Can you ban Quinn please? He joined redfor for a few sorties, then joined blue and started killing us on the ground blue-on-blue. Thanks -

Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 3

BLUEFOR! THIS IS YOUR GENERAL! Shame on you. This could be the greatest night of our lives, but you're going to let it be the worst. And I guarantee a week won't go by in your life you won't regret walking out, letting them get the best of you. Well, I'm not going home. We've come too far! And I'm going to stay right here and fight for this lost cause. A day may come when the courage of men fails... but it is not THIS day. The line must be drawn HERE. This far, no further! I'm not saying it's going to be easy. You're going to work harder than you ever worked before. But that's fine, we'll just get tougher with it! If a person grits his teeth and shows real determination, failure is not an option. That's how winning is done! Believe me when I say we can break this army here, and win just one for the Gipper. But I say to you what every warrior has known since the beginning of time: you've got to get mad. I mean plum mad dog mean. If you would be free men, then you must fight to fulfill that promise! Let us cut out their living guts one inch at a time, and they will know what we can do! Let no man forget how menacing we are. We are lions! You're like a big bear, man! This is YOUR time! Seize the day, never surrender, victory or death... that's the Chicago Way! Who's with me? Clap! Clap! Don't let Tink die! Clap! Alright! Let's fly! And gentlemen in England now abed shall know my name is the Lord when I tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they'll never take our Independence Day! -
Sorry winz, tried it, doesn't work either. It's the missil_prb_coeff.lua in the weapons folder.

Having done some extensive testing I've found that countermeasures have no impact on missiles in 1.5 The lua that governs the probability of rejection/effect for countermeasures has had the variables for the three seeker heads turned to zero. In testing done a year ago this produced the same results we see now - no amount of chaff/flare will stop a missile from tracking. Having tested the R-60, R-73, 9M, 27ER and 7M I've found that regardless of the amount of chaff/flare put out and regardless of engine position, the missiles will always track. Tests have been done to increase the lift of the missile in instances were pk=! 1 and found that it was merely the missile under-turning, not that it was being affected by CM. I've attached relevant tracks/acmi's and the link to the stream where part of the testing was done. https://mega.nz/#!w0RzRYjA!gCKm6NWTgz6zPD08xpFA_C4TIBhiuprn4_ZYo8XFqU0 http://www.twitch.tv/iasgatg/v/19376372

On the full release, will the FC3 exports be an option as well? xxx -
Hey Vytuoz, I dunno how your work on the lateral g display is going, I was looking at working it out manually, but I'd then need the co'ords for the flight paths. Is there an easy way to export them? Edit: Scrap this, I can see that the g now doesn't include the acceleration from the motor.

Shooting down aircraft is more important than anything else. That shouldn't need to be explained. -

The reason Jeffrey was put forwards as Redfor MVP is due to his ability to completely cripple the Bluefor war effort. The player on the server who caused the Bluefor team the most concern, had to strategize around and devote entire fighter wings to resolve, was Jeffrey. Ultimately Jeffrey was the superior thorn in our side, preventing base after base from being captured. Baring this in mind, I think it is fair to keep in contention for Redfor MVP. -

The connectivity graph is interesting, but it's impossible to see what the other teams player count was when one team had the majority. Is it possible to have two separate graphs so we can see that too? Also the nominations page isn't working any more. -

Eh, problem with this is it is biased by pilot skill. In pure dynamic performance, the 120 is pretty similar to the ER. I got a graph here somewhere of the flyout data in the game. The 120 of course has the edge by a few percent. Obviously the fact it's a ARH verse a SARH makes the bigger difference. My point was more that the 120 should be head and shoulders above the ER, but just a little squirt more. Perhaps my hyperbole was lost in text. Apology's for any misunderstanding. Edit: It's been a few years since I wrote this but the x is seconds and the y is nmi fly out. -

It is very depressing that the F-15 and the Su-27's weapons behave on almost an level playing field, considering we know for a fact they shouldn't. BUT THAT'S A STORY FOR ANOTHER DAY! -

Sorry, my mistake for not being clear. I meant operational aircraft, not aircraft that are in a "Standby" state that'll require a few months or work to get going, sorry for not being clear. Even still, one branch of the use military having almost as many aircraft isn't bad. As for the Su-35, I wouldn't mind seeing an F-22 on blue, at least that's an active fighter, coupled with AIM-120D's which are active weapons. Sorry, sorry, I'll stop now. :) -

The American Navy has more fighters than the entire Russian Federation. This doesn't include the US Marine Corps or the US Airforce. This also fails to mention the generation split between the sides, of 4th 4.5th and 5th gen aircraft. But on the flipside, it's a video game so bring it on. ;) -

A combination of the F-15's flight model and the missiles flight model makes flying high pointless at best and detrimental at worst.

This is my take on the map layout from bluefor's perspective. Holding the west is pretty easy. The general rule of thumb was "Don't stop pushing the East until Senaki falls." Because taking the West back is a really easy task where as taking the East is pretty difficult. The reason is down to distance. Fighter slots are important, but distance is the primary factor. The distance from Kutaisi and Vazani to the Eastern Airbases vs Kras and Maykop to the Western bases. Both sides encounter one problem: Can we get enough jets in the air to kill ALL their fighters AND get to their airbase to camp them BEFORE we run out of jets/ammo/fuel. The reason we let the West burn is because flying Senaki and Kutaisi to Sukh/Guda/Sochi is around 60nmi to the first, then 25 then 30. It's all relatively easy to take and the nearest hostile fighter base is around 100nmi away. Sochi is equi-distant from our fighter bases to the Redfors, so we never both to hold it. Sochi often remains red until the end because it's not worth the fight. If we break down the two flanks for each side and look at the distances it'll show where balances in turns of numbers needs to be tweaked. For Blue pushing up the East, Beslan is 100nmi and Nalchik is 95nmi. The defensive fighter bases from Min Vody (Although only 373 Flankers primarily) and Mozdok are between 35-50nmi away. This means that Blue fighters have to make around 150nmi trip to camp above the fighter bases. For the Red pushing West, we've already established that Sochi around around 100nmi and the following bases extend around another 50nmi, giving the Redfor fighters 150nmi to fly in order to take and hold Sukhumi. So the question is now what? Red holds the three Western bases and Blue holds the four Eastern bases. Lets look at a defensive break down. My opening statement about the fly out West is Blue's defense. Ultimately Sochi is a 100nmi push to take it all back with the reds having to fly 150nmi South to defend it. Once Sukh is recovered we can start to spawn fighters there (3 I believe) to reduce the reinforcement delay. For Redfor pushing back Min Vody back they have to fly a massive 135/175nmi out of Maykop/Kras. Blue's defense of Min Vody is 130nmi hop from either Kutaisi or Sukhumi. This is what causes a lot of the problems imo. Red has to fly further to defend their flank. I'm not sure what the solution to this Maykop/Kras -> Min Vody problem is. The final noticeable mention is that the blue have to take 4 bases, of which two are quite heavy fighter bases (If the 373 are on), where is Red has to take 3 bases, of which only 1 can spawn a max of 3 aircraft. Worth thinking about. Thoughts? -

Just like to clarify if that's me or not, as OP has given the vote to the name above. My Redfor MVP vote goes to Jeffrey. His ability to disrupt momentum, grinding a push to a crawl is unparalleled.
