  1. Just to clarify, A-10C does not require Lock On. FC3 includes the A-10A. I've heard from some other people on that the digital download from Ubisoft's website works too, but I can't confirm that.
  2. It works. I used to do it but I stopped because steam screenshots look terrible compared to the in game utility. And I noticed that I gained a few more FPS after.

    finally!

The easiest way I know of is to select your HUD as SOI and use the TDC. Set your SPI when HUD is SOI and you'll see the SPI is your TDC. Then you can slave your sensors to your SPI. Make your TGP your SOI and then make it your SPI.
  4. Might want to hop on over the multiplayer section and browse the threads there for a while. The only thing stopping me from joining a virtual squadron is I'm not sure how long I can keep playing until I need one of those breaks from the game for a period of time.
  5. The MFCD color change is in the patchnotes. I don't know about the ILS and TACAN though.
  6. I'm getting an odd crash on the 159th dedicated server. I join the server and it loads the mission but a few seconds after it goes to the screen where I select which slot I want, DCS crashes. I've tried updating, repairing, deleting MP tracks, and rebooting PC. So far it's just that server I'm having issues with. Mission name was Battle_for_Gagra_v3a. I attached a track and a log of the crash. Thanks in advance for any help. client-20130508-233418.trk DCS-20130509-033436.txt
  7. It means exactly what it says. Repairing downloads the files from the server if the checksums don't match and updating updates to the newest version. It can't be any clearer...
  8. You mean when in external view and the hog looks like it's drifting around a bit? That's normal.
  9. I get TK'd by friendly AI on instant action too. :(
  10. I've made mention of the effectiveness of flares seemingly being improved since the latest micro update. Maybe it applies to all countermeasures?
  11. This is why I can't wait for DCS: F/A-18C. Would love some AGM-88s. (Hopefully)
  12. Maybe it's just me, but it seems before the latest update (currently running the latest version of DCS: World), flares were only kind of effective at defeating IR guided missiles. However, now I can fire an sidewinder and they pop a couple flares and missile seems to be easily fooled, although flares still don't make them invincible. Also, again, maybe just me but AI seem to pop a few extra flares when a sidewinder is launched at them rather than hope automatic countermeasure dispensing saves them. Or I could be completely wrong about all of the above.
  13. Well, I can say at least the AIM-7 is still hitting hard.

    Eye Candy

I believe both the A-10C and F-15E can use both, and they perform similar functions although a promotional video from Lockeed Martin showed some of the features of the Sniper Pod, at least one I remember not being available in the LITENING TGP. This one I think is the one I watched: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mTFcmlbn1GQ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lockheed_Martin_Sniper_XR http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LITENING_targeting_pod Assuming those are accurate, the F-15 should be able to use the LITENING TGP, and I believe the developers will in order to save time, even though I think they use Snipers more often but I'm unsure of that. I'm guessing based on number of videos/pictures I've seen of F-15s. But what made me think of the question is that on one of the screenshots posted earlier, the Launcher wallpaper, you can see it's equipped with the Sniper pod. Needless to say, I'm a bit curious now.
  15. It is neither of those. I get great FPS, but this is not relevant to the topic. @OP, I too try to learn something new each time I fly in the A-10C or P-51. The start up procedures are exactly what the other sims lack and really adds that level of immersion. I don't feel it's hard to swing a stick around and push the button a few times to drop a bomb, and DCS goes way beyond that, which is my favorite aspect this sim. At least to me, knowing the proper start up and shut down procedures is just as important as tank busting and shooting down other planes.

Sorry if this has been answered already, but will we be seeing the Lockheed Martin Sniper XR TPG or the LITENING II TGP?
  17. So you're telling me setting the TGP as SPI for example doesnt set the TGP as SPI? When I slave to the SPI it's slaving to where the TGP is pointed. Same goes for markpoints/waypoints, etc... (I'm not unfamiliar with drops in the same pass with guided munitions either. I have a pretty firm understanding of HOW to do it.) I'm only getting my information from the manual so where it says, "Set Sensor as SPI – This function allows the TGP, TAD, Maverick or HUD to define the SPI. TMS Forward Long", it is saying that you're setting a sensor to the SPI and in essence when you slave all sensors, you're slaving to the SPI which in this case is the TGP. So wouldn't slaving to the TGP if SPI or slaving to the SPI be the same in this case? I get that SOI is not the SPI.
  18. Actually, you set your TGP as the SPI and slave your maveriks to your SPI which is indeed the TGP if the TGP is set as SPI. SOI is the sensor you are manipulating, whether it be Maveriks, TGP, TDC, or TAD (I might be missing one but you get the idea). This is all explained on page 397 in the manual.
  19. Are you dropping unguided bombs in CCIP?
  20. Just tried my first AAR with the F-15. It does work in 1.2.3 single player.
