Απ' ότι φαίνεται θα έχει. Seems like it.
  2. Yes i got it Frday on November 28, so it's brand new and still under warranty. Thanks for your post, it made me realize that i should have better waited until i had enough money for the TM Warthog instead of going for this train wreck...
  3. X-55 Stick RZ troubles and more Hey there, -My name is Scruffy and i have a drink- errr... hotas problem. I got my 55 after 2 months i ordered it. I installed drivers and software as described in the .pdf manual. The RZ "twist" axis in the Stick is not registering anything as if nothing is connected in there. Checked with default Windows controller settings: comparison between TM-16000 & X-55 and madcatz software: comparison between X and Rudder axis I submited a ticket to saitek and it's over 48 hours now with no reply whatsoever. When i took the stick of it's base and shook it a little i could hear some rattling noise coming from it, like there is something loose in there. I sure hope that's not the RZ axis potentiometer! :shocking: Yesterday i took part in an IL-2 1946 online event that included flying formation with 18 B-25s. Since the X-55 stick had rudder problems I thought i could use the throttle only together with the good old TM 16000. Big mistake. As i used the throttle i got random button presses without me doing anything. Imagine close formation with 17 other players. There are planes in-front of you, behind you and next to you. The slightest change in my airspeed could affect everyone. Now imagine my plane dropping it's gear mid-flight, lowering it's propeller pitch, changing supercharger stage on it's own etc... After about 70 minutes under these conditions i was shot down by the opposing team and i was actually relieved the nightmarish flight was over. I've already done a full clean up using Revo uninstaller & tune up (also deleted regedit keys and all drivers from device manager) and a full re-install 4 times. Tried connecting to USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports. Tried calibrating the device with windows default controller settings and madcatz software. Nothing helped. I am quite desperate, any suggestions? 4. Hey guys, I've been looking for a new GPU for quite a long time. I don't like N-Vidia very much. How about the R9 270X 4GB OC? I want to run DCS modules in as high settings as possible (especially AA & Textures) in a single monitor @ 1920x1080 60Hz. Any idea or rumor about what we should expect from EDGE? 6. No. Nevermind it wasn't anything important. I think i finally nailed a landing with the Huey and wanted to see if it looked good from outside. Thanks for the help though.
  7. Wow, that was fast. Well i initially opened it with plain notepad, used ctrl + F to find the line of interest and edited the file. Then done the same with Notepad ++. Maybe an extra character i put in accidentally. Ooops EDIT: I just had a flash. The mission briefing is in Greek which is non unicode. Does the notepad save in UTF-8 by default? EDIT 2: Nope. Deleted all the Greek characters but no joy.
  8. Tried this and the game freezes before the track starts. I kill it through task manager and then it gives me a "#bad-utf8" error, which is strange because i never switched encoding.
  9. Sorry Dudester22, i posted in a hurry and didn't notice this thread was still active. Is it possible to move my posts elsewhere? Thank you for your reply. Some friends are opting for MSI GTX760 N760 TF 2GD5/OC 2GB DDR5 which is about €250 - 270 localy.
  10. Need some serious help Hello all, I would much appreciate your help. I am looking for a new graphics card. I want to be able to play DCS modules (A-10C, P-51, UH-1 Huey etc.) and the upcoming WWII Europe 1944 (I know we will not know the recommended requirements until the game is released). I want to operate at max or near-max settings @ 1920 x 1080 in a single monitor and with the fastest possible frame rate. I don’t mention IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad, because having seen rise of flight, I now that they manage their games in a way that they can perform very well even in a mid – low end rig. And of course I’m not concerned about the good old IL-2 1946 because I could play it in very high settings and decent FPS with my previous GPU. Some people told me that A-10 is a more CPU consuming than GPU consuming sim. But here is the thing, I don’t want to switch my CPU because first of all I simply don’t have the funds and luxury to afford it and second I’m perfectly satisfied with my current CPU in other applications. Also switching to an Intel CPU which is traditionally better at gaming would mean that I will need to switch my current AMD socket Mother Board. So the question is this: What is the best GPU at the region of € 250 - € 300 that would best fit my current rig? As I already said those money won’t come easy, but it is something I was planning to do for a long time and Im hoping to get the right thing and not end up with a huge buyer’s remorse. Keep in mind that I don’t care a bit about other genres. I just want it to be awesome at flight simming. My Rig Today: MoBo: MSI 870A-G54 http://www.msi.com/product/mb/870A-G54.html#/?div=Detail CPU: Amd phenom II x6 1055t 2.8 http://www.anandtech.com/show/3674/amds-sixcore-phenom-ii-x6-1090t-1055t-reviewed GPU: ATI Radeon HD 5670 8 Gigs RAM: 2 x Kingston KVR1333d3n9/4G PSU Corsair CX750M Builder Series 750 Watt *I will run DCS modules from a Kingston SSD drive with Win 7 64 bit OS.
  11. I've seen several videos of older A-10 versions, where the laser beam was visible through NV. When i lased though, i couldn't see it. I thought i was doing something wrong, good to know it's a known issue.
  12. That was disappointing. I was just trying to create a high-octane Hollywood style insertion of enemy paratroopers in a battleground via a hovering helicopter. I couldn't pull it off. A quick google search latter showed me that this isn't possible... yet.
  13. About the CMS panel mode dial, google "5 Position Rotary Switches" you can find something like this or this.
  14. Great! Glad it works. Thank you Laurius, Hopefully I'll be starting building a panel soon too. Got to do a lot of research first. This thread was really useful. Cheers
  15. Hi there TigersharkBAS. Thank you for your instructional videos and all the good advice. For 3 position switches, like the inverter, i think that the addition of the "up = iCommand*********," line after each key binding -or "combos" as it's refered in the .lua- will do the trick: Original: Modified: In the original file, after the "down = iCommandElectricalPowerInverterTEST" command there is already the "up = iCommandElectricalPowerInverterOFF," phrase because by default when you release the mouse button after you pressed inverter test, the (in-game) switch returns to it's initial "OFF" position. NOTE: I don't have a 3 position switch (the ones that have 2 contacts and 1 middle position off) so i can't test if this definitely works. If somenone has a 3 pos switch and wants to confirm if this works, the location of the joystic/controler/groovy game gear board etc, .lua file is by default in C:\Users\User\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\A-10C\joystick
  16. I was a bit confused regarding the .lua file configuration of "DCS World: A-10C" since it's different than the A-10C standalone. It no longer includes numeric values to represent actions (as in TigersharkBAS's video) but instead it uses code. Here is an example of how to utilize the "OFF" function of a flip switch so that when turned into the "OFF" position to produce the action of reverting a (in-game) switch to it's original position : Original .lua line: {combos = {{key = "JOY_BTN14"}, }, down = iCommandBatteryPower, name = "Battery power", category = "Electrical power control panel"}, Modified .lua line: {combos = {{key = "JOY_BTN14"}, }, down = iCommandBatteryPower, up = iCommandBatteryPower, name = "Battery power", category = "Electrical power control panel"}, It's really simple but it took me some time to figure it out.
  17. Hi there, It would be a great help if someone posted a T.A.R.G.E.T - T-16000M profile for DCS World: A10C Thank you.
