Well it very feasible in this skyraider, - a clockwise rotating prop with fullflaps, at landing approach will induce a left yaw, which will counter the lost lift of the right wing , balancing things out a bit. The tricky part is when you flare just before touch down and have to apply more left rudder... so your approach should be more of a sideslip to the left at the point of flaring.. and bingo you're down.... :)

You're talking to a Physics Major(done that), Asm programmer, .. ect.what ever it takes.. maybe I'll cry in my next post
-
Tell me Yo-Yo that you've have absolute experience in flying the P51 in combat ?
-
Ja you're quite right there.. I have a of a thick neck Ja, I agree, incompetence in quite hard to swallow You said it ..
-
You, good sir, would be well advised to wind your neck in a wee bit. You have no idea.....
-
Let's move on

I don't want the official template. I want the 'Cowboy'.. the person who knows how to fly. Not the general geriatric moron... Get my drift :)
-
you're not going to get a RL P51 pilot doing what I've suggested... Tell me when it happens.. and tell me the analytical results :)
-
but I doubt it...
-
I hope so :-)

After all that.. You're probably looking for the RUDDER TRIM thingy.. It's there somewhere.. just play with the stick/throttle rotary things :)
-
BS (sounds like a funny name :) ) First of all, what type of controller/flight stick do you have DCS displays only what you've 'plugged in' so to speak. Anway, plug in your prefereable stick/controller and assign the the keys/switches in the OFFLINE/OPTIONS menu. DCS keeps track of these settings AFAIK.

Sorry - Correction to above statement Any any person had any RL PROP experience, they might have something different to say. Done and said :)
-
First and foremost - do no think any game/sim (DCS or IL2 for that matter) is 'bible' no matter what the devs 'preach' DCS devs, AFAIK, have had no input into this topic - and will probably not get into such an argument. If any of the nay-sayers had the remotest RL PROP flight experience, they might have something different to say. There you go ?
-
Yawn... Yes..Axis are linear. You can 'accelerate' stall any IL2 a/c (the last time I tried) a matter of fact, you can flick roll any of them.. even the bombers if you tried hard enough :) In the videos I put up, I don't know if you noticed that I had set throttles to zero so as to minimise any torque or propwash effects. Next trick question?

Do yourself a favour and go to your local flying club and ask someone to take you up on a demo flight. One doesn't have to be extreme with the controls, but the application effects are very noticeable. They'll probably not advise or will refuse to do such a thing, because of the inherent dangers of such a move. Wrt IL2 as we all know for a 13yr old sim, still has the basic FMs right. Maybe not the finer details, which is why I use it as an example. Just because you seem to have a dislike for IL2 doesn't mean that it's absolutely wrong - for example - where are the hi-G/high -AOA wing vapour trails in DCS - scripted (LUA) or not ? :)
-
Have you flown a real aircraft.. any fixed wing aircraft for that matter, and tried this maneuver ??
-
Here the DCS version. From what I can see in your video is taht you apply rudder slightly before elevator. Where as I apply rudder and elevator at the same time (I think there is a delay in rudder as I'm using a key setting - but the results should be the same). https://www.dropbox.com/s/tqaxniobwttz2q3/DCS%20P51%20FlickRoll.f4v Just for comparison here's an IL2 version, which is what essentially should be happening. https://www.dropbox.com/s/gfuqrbyrynck5bb/IL2%20P51%20FlickRoll.f4v There's just too much of a delay in DCS, as I'm applying extreme controls IOW being 'ham-fisted'

Would it be possible to have a 'bug' thread. I posted a question for the few P51 pilots and an aviation forum: The reply
-
..to continue wrt wingtip vapour trails. I've yet to see this on any DCS aircraft... correct me if I'm wrong :-)
-
No Vapour trails from wings on high G moves ? Why are there no vapour trails from the P51 wingtips during high G moves... These do exist and Korea Vets have explicitly mentioned these... Is this a P51 modelling problem ??
-
A bit of right rudder trim, set the prop pitch/speed setting to halfway to start with. Slowly increase throttle till the MP is top of green.. then I play with the prop pitch/speed setting. To much bite with prop pitch and your off to the left of the runway. Slowly increase the pitch bite, while stepping on the right rudder. At about 100 mph she comes unstuck. :)

Having more 'cannon fodder' would also help boost many egos here... not that they need boosting though :megalol:

An attractive au pair - now there's an idea. All votes for this one !! This is a game first of all.. and I'm sure ED would like a wider audience ?

Yeah.. but before the new-guys get to MP.. it's always nice to improve one's skills with a scalable AI
