  1. I have great difficulty getting it into a spin. I really have to be mean on the controls. I'd think that a high performance fighter would gladly go into a spin at first opportunity. In comparison I found it's accelerated stalls come on too fast, with not that much stick input. I think I'm on default axis settings as I've made no changes or profiling, anyway I'll carry on flying around beyond the safety window.
  2. Me too (approx 1Mb).... Fook these fookers who're trying to screw us for bandwidth. Overseas guys.. do you have any cheap terrestrial/satellite suppliers for southern africa... I'd love to know (Setup my dish and that's it)
  3. Well DerHesse70, I only started with DCS because of the P51 and the development of the Dora-9 (although I prefer the A9). I come from 10+yrs of P51 and FW190 sims and find this P51 a mission to fly (I have flown in RL) and takes some getting used to. While I'm waiting for the FW190, I do a lot of SP flying working through the P51 engine management and systems. Why ? because online I'll be mince-meat in 5 secs if i don't manage this side of things... You might consider doing the same
  4. Your Registry's trashed, and/or possibly Boot sector. Re-install windoze Get on the internet and download Hirens 15.2(latest I think) ISO. Burn it to CD/DVD disk. Get hold of Ghost - save it to CD/DVD Get you system up to scratch - Do a Ghost copy to CD/DVD (use this to reinstall to this point) Install the rest :)
  5. Thanks.. My leaching slowed down to 5Kbits, but was at 5KBytes (seeding - Set seeding at 10% leaching - what's the normal ratio for Seeding/Leaching on torrents ?) and it was giving me 120 hrs till completion AAARRGGHHHHH!! . Anyway it's up to 100KB now and looking better.. sitting at 57% at the mo. Maybe it just my 1Mbit line that's playing up
  6. While browsing a few days ago there was one guy who made a 'mod' that changes the aircraft into a visible dot, at some distance - I just cannot find it anymore... Does anybody have it or know the link.. please.
  7. It probably trashed the registry..
  8. Would it be possible to keep as many torrent Seeds/PCs open as possible for a few days, to help speed up downloads. Thanks
  9. Pop into Multiplayer and you'll see a server listing - a few of these are P51 matchups - indicated in the short descriptions.
  10. Just a quickie.. with the AI https://www.dropbox.com/s/emv0mqfagqjn9r5/DCSP51.f4v (38MB)
  11. Thinking through this.. The increase in MP could be perceived as increase in RPM, as the exhaust pressure will be higher, and will travel faster (sound travels at different speeds at different densities) resulting in an increase in audio pitch. You probably want to differentiate between engine noise (RPM) and exhaust noise (MP + RPM). Just a thought.
  12. That's good to know.. We are Borg..
  13. I'm sure the AI is on a different FM... it's as if it's on steroids - The engine management must be very creative ?? I still haven't set my rig up properly yet, but I suppose out flying the AI is worth getting credit for ! A real mode track... P51DF.trk
  14. Dora is OK for high altitude, but the A8(9) is also a good match below 15000, and with a lot more extra lead to throw around... the Poni pilot would have to be very... very careful.
  15. Thanks for the pointers, guys... A lot of reading do I (said the green guy) :)
  16. Any idea when EDGE and/or SDK might be released ?
  17. Hi.. Trying to find info on how to begin making a map. The search function doesn't help much, as I'm looking for specific info on which tools one can use. I see something on EDGE and the SDK, but nothing specific on what is supposed to be or do (wading though 1000s of pages is like a needle in a haystack). If anyone has exact links, contacts or pointers, that'll be great. Thanks Van
  18. Somting like dis.. I don't know how far you've got with this.. but this lot just involved fudging the head positioning. I'm still getting into the the whole LUA scripting thing.. and some other tools.. coz I need to make some decent changes
  19. Seeing that the FW190 is in the works.... How's about this aircraft discussion topic.. etc As one FW fanboy (amongst 1000s)... it should be a very popular topic
  20. Resolved the snapview issue... just a few minor things to sort out, like how to assign rudders to buttons (don't have working pedals at the mo). Here's a track of my first DF (in the single missions) with views 'working'.. I haven't assigned keys for engine management yet, so I drove the engine till it was kaput. Running on auto-rudder is frustrating too https://dl-web.dropbox.com/get/DCS_Tracks/longTrack.trk?w=AABG5_gjVwFwsrFE3mMFwjhui3qA51dMHcVNXFa51bvPlQ
  21. One funny 'quirk' if you wish... Flying along and I pull hard and fast on the stick... plane starts to stall then I ease up, shaking stops.. but when pulling further on the stick there is no response from the plane. It's as if it's stuck on that flight line - I'm not in a stall condition and flying at speed in a straight line. I have to push the stick far forward to get it to react. It looks like a stall condition recovery, but I'm not stalling ? Only starting so I might have things wrong.. but I found this puzzling. :)
  22. Those are the buttons.. they work like a dream.. except .. for the angles. I must see how I can modify the view angle. :)
  23. Yes.. that's it. I'll try those Sorry, I couldn't remember the name... and with all the buttons and switches to setup, I missed those
  24. Thanks.. Face track looks interesting.. I've give that a go. Edt: Tried it.. bombs on installation = no good? Maybe the original hat switch (view angle lock) idea is simpler and will work, if available.
  25. I don't have TIR and am not sure whether this has been asked before... Is it possible to have the hat switch view buttons lock the view at certain angles. For example 8 switch positions would lock at 45 degree intervals for instant viewing, and other buttons for up and down. A combination of these buttons selects the view. Trying to DF when you view runs away from you is .. crazy! I'm just wondering as there seems to be a lot of LUA in DCS.. maybe there's a view script.. Maybe one can script the whole joystick input? Thanks for any help.
