  1. The test text of the RWR BIT is most likely wrong. The purpose of this text is to display all characters of the alphabet and I know it only as "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" The RWR BIT instead displays: "The quick brown foxes jumped over the lazy dog" While it might be possible, that the actual device uses the second phrase, it seems quite unlikely to me. Google hits for phrase 1: about 20 trillions; hits for phrase 2: zero (ok, after posting this here now, probably "1") :smartass:
  2. There is a difference between playing a game and just being ignorant about real life facts.
  3. +1 Or what I was thinking: structure the main section like the Products menu of the ED Store web page: Eagle Dynamics ...DCS World ...Planes ...... A-10C ...... F/A-18C ...... etc. ... Helicopters ...... Huey ...... etc. ... Terrains ... Campaigns 3rd Party Devs ... VEAO ... Razbam ... etc.
  4. I know, nobody expects this to happen, nor does anyone want it to happen ... but still it could happen some day: what if EDSA goes out of business? What will happen to all our purchases? Or more generally speaking: one can imagine so many different situations where EDs authentification servers are not available - be it for some days, a more prologned time or maybe even for good. Desaster can strike, no matter of one's intents. Natural desasters like the datacenter burns down, gets flooded, etc., political tensions in different parts of the world, or financial desaster - global or local. We as customers then are left with 3 days until our purchases are rendered useless (except you had enabled offline mode in wise foresight). When StarForce was still the way to go, there was at least a second party, independent from ED that could have provided some sort of remedy (i.e. renewing one activation per month, remember?). My proposal now: ED could provide a key or program that disables the DRM stuff. Like a patch program that can modify the relevant DCS files to remove the DRM checks. This patch program would be installed as part of the regular DCS installation so that it is physically available right away for everyone. But it would be encrypted so that it can only be used if one knows the key. That key would be kept secret by ED - but with the promise to publish it "if desaster strikes". Even if this is still no perfect solution from the customer perspective - we just had to trust that the publishing of the key would really work - it is still better than to hope that a "final friday dcs patch" would be available. But if that DRM removal program is out "in the wild", wouldn't it be hacked? Yea..no. Strong encryption is a thing. And the encryption key could be changed regulary, like with every regular DCS update. I know that there are tons of other, more pressing issues for ED atm. But I thought, why not write down the idea, maybe it helps someone one day.
  6. What a difference a few words more than those two in the title can make. Thanks for clarifying.
  7. Thread title is tagged: "[NO BUG]Gun ROF HI/LO is the same". I can only read it that way that in the real aircraft there is no RoF difference and therefore the missing RoF difference it is modelled correctly. What are those functions then meant for? Just some leftovers of some never fully implemented feature? Or is it something completely different, like long and short bursts?
  8. A polite request @ mods/devs: Please don't use posting tags to reply to bug reports. Use tags only to document the status of a bug report, like it is done for other modules as well (i.e. [REPORTED], [NO BUG], [FIXED], etc.). But do not use the tags to give an answer or provide other form of input to a bug report. Doing so makes it hard to follow the threads. For example, [NO TRACK PROVIDED] should be just a posting in the thread, as reply to the bug reporte. That way the chronology of how a bug report evolved is preserved and the whole thread makes more sense if later an actual track is provided. ("Why [NO TRACK]? I can SEE that there is a track!"). In general, subsequent replies in a thread just can not reference the tag in the title, making a conversation hard to follow.
  9. 1. Selecting UFC at the stores page, UFC will be boxed, UFC entry is enabled 2. waiting 10+ seconds: UFC turns off 3. UFC is still boxed at the stores page, requiring to click the corresponding button twice to get the actual UFC coming back to life again (i.e. first to unbox UFC and 2. to select/box UFC again). I would expect, when the actual UFC "times out" after 10 seconds, the corresponding UFC button should also automatically be deselected/unboxed at the stores page as well.
  10. Did a quick test myself - see attachment.
  11. Yes, at first it is a bit counter-intuitive. One just must not read MULT as "multiplier", but more as "multiple". Like ... I want to drop a certain QUANTITY of bombs (6). But I want MULTIPLE to drop together (3).
  12. The installation path does not matter, just make sure they are different for different installations. You can even move or rename the installation folder later (just ensure that you update your windows shortcuts accordingly). DCS will know which files to use based on the directory where the DCS.EXE is located. I.e. E:\DCS World\bin\DCS.exe only uses E:\DCS World files.
  13. I think, the mods are just trying to figure out where to move those posts of the main Belsimtek subforum to. My suggestion: keep it under "3rd party devs", but disable the "new thread" function. BUT keep the existing threads open so that running discussions can continue.
  14. Hrm, maybe try adding it as attachment then? I think, the 50K limit applies to the posting length in total (text + formatting) and if you just drag a file in there, the browser just tries to put all the bytes into the posting as text (which would not help you at all, even if it worked). There are restrictions as of how much space you can use for your attachments (for your whole user account here on the forums), but that should suffice for quite a few larg(ish) files like pictures. I just checked my account: I am using 34 MB and I still have more than half of the available space free. Looks that every forum user may use up to about 100 MB or so.
  15. 1 × 1 = 2 1 × 0 = 1 Hrm, somehow that looks odd.
  16. Limited combat use, I would guess.
  17. I agree, when pointed out and after 5 minutes of detailed complaring the images, I see what you mean. This should definately put on the Todo-List as a final/last step before getting the aircraft out of beta status.
  18. 1. select IRMAV from stores page, uncage it. 2. sensor select: IRMAV 3. select different weapon from stores page WITHOUT caging the IRMAV 4. observe: IRMAV is still active sensor, although IRMAV video is not shown 5. designate a target, watch DCS 2.5.2.18144.387 crash edit: 3. ... uncaging -> caging. doh!
  19. "Flying on rails"? Afaik all those weapons have their own flight model. Like everything else, they probably have still room for improvements, but I don't understand what you mean with "flying on rails". For example, the LGBs follow a ballistic trajectory - until they spot the laser. Then the bang-bang steering starts, which you can observe quite nicely.
  20. "Gimbal Limits" warning and maverick behaviour as implemented for the A-10C:
  21. Fwiw, the MAVs of the A-10C are not automatically caged, but get boresighted when they reach the gimbal limits.
  22. Apropos "richtig schauen" - euch ist klar, dass sich die Postings zeitlich überschnitten haben und er deinen Beitrag, ZeeMan, da gar nicht gesehen haben kann? :D
  23. Your monitor config is supposed to reside in your Saved Games\DCS\Config folder. There the DCS Updater will not touch anything.
  24. 5th of June 4:15 here ... I already got bored a bit flying the Hornet all the time tbh ...
