** DCS AJS-37 Development Update + Manual RC1 Release **
Flagrum replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
Cobra, the embedded images in your posting are 404 File not found. That also results in the PDF Link to be not clickable. edit: fwiw ;) http://media.heatblur.se/AJS37_Manual_RC1.pdf -

File Type - as selectable with the top left input field.

Maybe you are confusing me with the OP or other posters in this thread. I just tried to illustrate that a seemingly small bug fix can actually be just that, a small bug fix. Not every time when something takes some time it neccessarily means that it is difficult or complex. I can understand that someone wonders then what else might be the reason.
-
Well, it was you who brought up that aspect. Certainly so - as I also acknowledged. Not everything can be done all at once - it will have to be done one after the other - for several possible technical and organizational reasons. No thank you.

The ACP switches are working already, we only need to read the value into the weapon relase code. There we need a timer that generates "release weapon" events - the action behind "release weapon" is already implemented. The most complicated thing here (for me at least as I have no clue about ballistics OR maths) is the balistics formula that calculates the correct timing, based on the switch setting in feet. There might be some other minor dependencies (i.e. if ACP is set to MAN and the INTV actually already is considered in ms), though. All in all, I bet CptSmiley or Zeus could whip this up in a mere weekend (I'd say a couple of hours, but yea, stuff can be tougher as it seems at first). So it is most likely a matter of priority and/or sorting the todo-list than anything else. (and yes I have - to answer your question ;-)

Are you trying to imply that it takes so long because it might be so complicated or such a major task?

Is there a way to disable the stick movement damping?
Flagrum replied to streakeagle's topic in DCS: UH-1H
Afaik the dampening is not for training wheels, but for the actual dampening that is present in the real heli due to the hydraulics system. It simulates the fact that a normal human would not be able to throw around the cyclic as you would be able to do with a PC gaming joystick. -
Use of the arrow keys to fine tune static objects placement
Flagrum replied to BlacleyCole's topic in DCS Core Wish List
If you zoom in all the way in the mission editor, you can move objects and units centimeter-, or at least inch-wise. With the new shape display option of units/objects it is now really easy to place stuff very exact, imo. ED stated, that there is no 3d editor is planned. But we have now the option to show objects and units as their top-down representation with their actual dimensions. That is, imo, perhaps even better than 3d placement (one draw back, though: the lay of land is still not easily to figgure out). -
NVG work now again, but NAVFLIR on the HUD still does not.
-
Afaik those are dummy options that have no function (yet?). Just a left over form testing or something like that.

I run High on 1.58, but only low on 2.5, WHY?
Flagrum replied to Flarpt's topic in Game Performance Bugs
So, basically you want the benefits of 2.5.2 but only for the ressource requirements of 1.5.8? Yes, in 8 years, your then current PC will run 2.5.2 probably as your now current PC runs 1.5.8. But then you probably will complain about DCS 3.7 that is then state of the art... -

Loading Mk.82 Snakeeyes results in two weapon codes selectable on the screens: 82L and 82H. I assume this means Low drag and High drag, which the pilot can choose from as an option. But in fact, both will result in high drag deliveries

I read here that the system is working as designed, that, if, while on ground, you black out if OBOGS is turned off or the oxygen flow is turned to 0. But how does the oxygen mask work? Does it not just enrich the environmental air with additional oxygen when enabled? Or does the oxygen flow valve completely control the air flow as whole - like, if turned down, you can't breathe at all? What exectly causes the lack of oxygen, if the system to provide additional oxygen is not working?

Wind direction - Briefing and ME - still a mess
Flagrum replied to Flamin_Squirrel's topic in General Bugs
Just because I happen to know where to find it - from 2014: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=124729 (Sometimes I wonder why such "quick win" bugfixes are neglected so often. Tiny efford to fix, huge impact on the game. Not to mention the positive "PR" effect and positive reception of the community if *insert dev of your choice* show up with long patch logs, etc.) -
Yes, Malvinas will be part of it! :D

I experimented with this setup a bit - with unlim. weapons enabled. It seems, as if the release sequence only iterates over pylons of the same configuration. I.e. only the two inner pylons, releasing 4 bombs, OR only the two outer pylons, releasing 2 bombs. (I manageed to select one of the outer pylons during the auto rearming sequence, and then only those two on the outer pylons are actually released.) edit: Setting the quantity to 6 when the inner pylons are selected, results in the display of "*6" at the DDI. I assume, the star means "caution, not really feasible value!"? The SMS just does not really "see" the bombs at the outer pylons. You can not really select - until the bombs on the inner pylons are dropped. Even STEP only switches between the two inner pylons. I wonder now, if such a load out is even certified?
