  1. Nothing happened to Paypal. Thanks ED!
  2. I just ran into the same problem. After jumping into the Shark after quite some time, I was unable to get the Shkval to lock to anything, no matter if dead/alive/scenery/just ground and no matter how far/close (i.e. <1km). Time of day was 10 am in October, Caucasus 2.5. Even more weired: when using the HMS, it would lock-on to anything right away! ... as I would have expected, even without the HMS.
  3. Uhm ... the aircraft modules are tied to the DCS version: older DCS version means older module version. And that, of course, means less functionality and/or more bugs.
  4. Hrm, I think, I'll take back my previous "+1" - at least until I find more evidence for Mega Trees. Actually, I just took a ride in the Huey and inspected some of the trees, using the radar altimeter: the smaller trees (not the tiny ones) are about 70 ft, medium trees are roughly 90(ish) ft and the largest I found, those conifers, are about 160 ft. Seems about reasonable to me ... maybe a bit unusual to have so many of those big trees in an urban environment, but probably not impossible.
  5. +1 I thought that as well. While forrests look great - as there is no refrence point, just trees, it is a different matter in urban areas. Yes, trees can get that big, like as large as a 10 storey building, but no, not every tree like in New Georgia atm.

  7. The Mission Editor remembers the map that was used the last time in the Mission Editor. It does not care, if other maps were used when starting a mission from the main menu, it will always get back to the last map used in the editor. Loading maps for the first time, be it because it is used in a mission or be it in the ME, takes a fairly long time. And chances are, that the ME "always" loads exactly the "wrong" map when you start it, and you have to change it with "File -> New" ... Suggestion: add a smal dialog window asking for the map to be used when opening the mission editor. Perhaps pre-select the last one used as default.
  8. This deserves to be nominated for "The Bug of the Year" Award. Especially as, when I typed the code to fix it, into my C=64, all I got was "SYNTAX ERROR" and then "READY". :-(
  9. You are assuming that all previous bugs have been fixed with 2.5? Erm, not to sound too negative here, but no, I doubt that. :D
  10. Maybe we should talk to ED and ask for a delay ... so that everyone can get their installs straight and issues solved before 2.5 hits the D/L servers ... *scnr*
  11. +1 Just because there is a good reason (known to us) does not mean that it is not a missing feature.

  13. C-160? Dropping cargo on pallets while flying 10 ft AGL. The pallets slide behind the aircraft until they eventually come to a stop. Saves quite some time unloading an aircraft ... heh. Unfortunately I can't find any footage of this, but Transalls did this, iirc, in some humanitarian mission, somewhere in Africa? Or were those C-130? Whichever it was, I want that in DCS and do as they did there! :-D edit:
  14. Will 1.5.8 receive a final patch before it goes "unsupported"? There should be a few bug fixes in the pipeline for several modules for, I think, a few weeks by now. If those would still make it into the 1.5.8 version, I bet it would be greatly appreciated by those who opt to keep 1.5.8.
  15. The DCS Update program detects the differences between your current installation and the desired installation by comparing the files. If there are differences, then the programm downloads the files and swaps them out in your DCS folder. By default, the "desired installation" is the one with the latest version number. But you can manually tell the update program that you want a different, older version. But the process is technically the same.
  16. You drove a few times around the block with your new motorcycle ...with training wheels attached. And now they are dismounted... and you want to learn to properly ride a bike and thus want them to re-attach the training wheels? I doubt that this would really benefit you ...
  17. 2.5 is the successor of 1.5 and newer versions of DCS are meant to be backwards compatible. That is why also everyone expects the Gazelle (and any other module) to be working in 2.5, as any other DLC like campaigns ... But that said, I can understand that adjustments and work is needed and that this may take time.
  18. We will most likely be able to switch between the seats and thus be pilot at one moment and RIO the other moment. How effective this will be, in terms of proficiency, remains to be seen, I guess.
  19. It's all WIP. I assume, it will be getting easier, once, when contrast/gain/etc. settings of the MPCDs can be adjusted
  20. That ... would be the Christen Eagle then - everything else is already in my hangar or on my "day 1 purchase" list. Awww ... I dunno ... hrmmmm ... ow ... :D
  21. Seems to be a problem with a livery. Do you have any non-standard M2KC liveries installed? Try it without them, if that is the case. Otherwise, try a DCS Repair.
  22. Yes, the effect is somehow worse over Normandy - probably because of the object count which is probably higher there on average. See also here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=195024 https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3217364#post3217364
  23. it actually does. Units move slower the more damage they take and supposedly their skill level decreases as well (i.e. take longer to aim, shoot worse, etc.).
  24. And let us change the affiliation of units during a mission (trigger actions, script funcitons). Imagine the possibilities if units can change sides! :) ... including the player units, ofc. Mission designers could implement "twists" in the mission / the story ... like, depending on player decisions and actions, the player might end up defecting and switching sides ... *dreams*
  25. Too inaccurate, yes, but underpowered? Never read anything here about that ...? But in fact, while the A-10 was designed as "tank killer", it is actually not that easy to kill tanks, especially more modern ones, with it.
