There were 4 Kiev class carriers. These were; Kiev Part of the fleet until retired in 1993. She was sold to a chineese theme park company in 1996 and has been a part of Tianjin military theme park since 1 May 2004. Minsk Minsk operated in the Pacific Fleet. She had to be retired in June 30 1993 as a result of a major accident. In 1995 she was sold to a South Korean businessman, and later resold to Shenzhen Minsk Aircraft Carrier Industry Co Ltd, China. Until 2006, when the company went bankrupt, Minsk was part of a military theme park in Shatoujiao, Shenzhen called "Minsk World". The aircraft carrier was put up for auction on 22 March 2006. No bids at the starting price of 128 million RMB (approx. 16 million U.S. dollars) were received, so the carrier was withdrawn from sale. On 31 May 2006, the Soviet aircraft carrier was finally auctioned off for 128 million RMB Novorossiysk Served from 1978-1993. She was later scrapped. Admiral Gorshkov Originally named Baku, she was the fourth of the Project 1143 aircraft carrying cruisers. In 1994, following a boiler room explosion, the ship was docked for a year of repairs. Although she returned to service in 1995, she was finally withdrawn in 1996 and offered for sale. After years of negotiations, on January 20, 2004, Russia and India signed a deal to buy aircraft-carrier Admiral Gorshkov, along with 12 single-seat MiG-29K and 4 dual-seat MiG-29KUB. Upgrade plans involve stripping all the weaponry from the ship's foredeck to make way for Short Take-Off But Assisted Recovery configuration, with a 14.3 degree ski-jump on the bow and three arrestor wires on the angled deck, allowing her to operate the MiG-29K and Sea Harrier aircraft. It is estimated that the ship will enter service in the Indian Navyin 2008 as INS Vikramaditya .

Who is geting Asta la Vista??
MiGMadness replied to Skyhigh's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
But while the people on Vista are able to play the latest DX10 games, you will be stuck in DX9 hell. :P -
Does anyone intend to create a new SU-30MKI model for FC ?
MiGMadness replied to Majesco's topic in 3D Modeling for DCS World
There is no time frame. As stormin once said - lockon is set in a galaxy far far away..... :D -
 This post just proved that you don't know jack sh1t about missle performance envelope or the actually performance of missiles within lockon. Here's a hint, roughly 1.6kms in a mile and most important......the ingame encyclopedia entries lie....... 110km missiles. Buhahahahaha :megalol: Max range for an ER @ 5000m to a target @ 2000m is 40kms TOPS..... If all goes well and your target flies straight at you without ECM and chaff. I love also the way that the servers with crap upload connections blame printscreening for all the warp. 20 players on a 1 MBit connection. :megalol: You would be lucky to have 4 fps when even 1 missile is launched.

VF-31 Tomcatters - Tryouts open
MiGMadness replied to Corsair7662's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Yes, as in? A) you can see your own wings fold wether that be automatically or by the touch of a button? or B) You cannot see your own wings fold but you can see your wingmans wings fold wether that be automatically or by the touch of a button? -
Yep looks like a R-27R. Guidance for it (*IF* they would carry/fire them in combat) and the R-77 beside it would be through the Kopyo radar pod. (center pylon)

Again no. The Sukhoi that operates from the Kuz is the Su-25UTG which is used to familiarize Navy pilots with carrier procedures. One Su-25UT was converted to Su-25UTG with no others being built. The Su-25UTG cannot carry any Ordnance, it has no cannons nor does it have a Fire Control Computer and avionics to launch any ordnance/cannons. It is a pure trainer. A sidenote question? Was the Su-33M project cancelled only due to Russian financial problems? Because if so, I suppose that China has the money to revive it. :detective:

Flight path marker and russian planes
MiGMadness replied to Sticky's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Yup, agreed. Though expect some more warnings since it is 912Kb larger than the 50Kb limit. -
Also instead of a A-10........ try it in a Su-25T.

No. Ubisoft only own the rights to the name "Lock On - Modern Air Combat". Everything else belongs to ED.

AIM120"C" and AIM9"M" TEST TEAM READ!
MiGMadness replied to -razor-'s topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I see that our little kraut friend has also biased views also. The ethnic cleansing was started well before the Serb attacks in Kosovo by none other than the KLA, a MUSLIM terrorist organization with Talaban fighters in their ranks and financed by none other than the US made tyrant Osama bin Laden. But that is seemingly brushed aside since the terror attacks of 9/11, wouldn't look too good that the US & NATO gave military backing to an al qaeda cell. -
Start on the apron, taxi to runway, take-off then look behind you. The truck switches on the spotlight after an aircraft takes off. I assume it's to check for anything that can cause FOD or something.
-
It's a Lock-on thing. The AIM-9 has the same problem on that pylon.

D/Led it from 1st link about 5 mins ago.

errrmm.... It works ok for me. Downloaded from the first link. Extracted to desktop and moved files by hand, ran update.cfg (said that cfg was already updated). Sweet work. EDIT: can confirm (with a test track) that R-77 bug is squashed. :D Good stuff :)
-
Quick suggestion (and without making myself looking like a complete nub if you already know this ;)). Would this help solve the problem? Found it on this model guide here. http://lockon.co.uk/index.php?end_pos=545&scr=default〈=en Anyways.... great work my friend.

Release: Better AIM-7 and AIM-120 with clipped fins
MiGMadness replied to walmis's topic in 3D Modeling for DCS World
Short answer........ no. If Aim-120 came with a graphics.cfg file already edited with the entry, it would include all the settings (vis range, ram precache, scenery, water, resolution etc) that the author used. The user would have to change all these settings back to the settings that they used (also changing the graphics.cfg file again if you ran in a widescreen aspect). It would also clash with other skin mods that edit the config.cfg file (e.g. ED's black/USAF skin mods) when installed together via the likes of modman. Having the user move a few files and add 1 line to their graphics.cfg file is much more flexible for general use and much more kind. Walmis.... you are a godsend to the FC modding community. respect. -
Release: Better AIM-7 and AIM-120 with clipped fins
MiGMadness replied to walmis's topic in 3D Modeling for DCS World
Sweet. :) AFAIK those fins fold up while on the hardpoint and flip out when fired. If true please don't forget this (IIRC Argument 2 animation) -
To ED artist or any ED team guy
MiGMadness replied to knellknell's topic in 3D Modeling for DCS World
You may be on to something. I'm running on a widescreen also. I also notice that the pipes on the BMP file are on the side of the tank on Flanker17's attachment yet on mine it is where they should be, on the top of the tank. Puzzling to say the least. -
No. people decide themselves to donate $25 (a year) to help them develop fighterops. No one makes them. With monthly compos with expensive prizes and a reduction in price for the sim itself, it is not money wasted. IMHO area 51 members are flight sim enthusiasts putting a little of their money to help the small niche that is flight sims.
-
Yes in the loadout screen it looks black (shadow problem perhaps?) on the underside but within the game it will be ok.

You dont need to edit the graphics.cfg for this model. Simply place the .lom file in the bazar/world/shapes folder. The .bmp file into the bazar/TempTextures
