    Slew mode

You can accellerate or decellerate time time with LCTL +Z / LALT+Z, or set to Normal with LSHIFT + Z, but you had better have quick reactions or a good autopilot setup. That method also uses fuel of course, and isn't really a substitute for slew, but it will help you cut out the boring bits in a long flight. Another option, if you have flown the trip before, and saved it, is to fly the track file with time accellerated, set it back to normal time when you get to where you want to go, then take control. Although if you do this, then you might as well just create a quick mission starting at the place you want to be.
  2. If you defined the GUI to be the centre screen then no, they will appear on that screen. This setting is not there by default, you have to add it. If you don't define the GUI= Position, and leave it to DCS, then it is spread across the width defined in Viewports.Center etc, and radio messages etc will appear on the right. If you use the default 3Cameras.lua which has the UI set to UIMainView = Viewports.Center then theis stuff is confined to the middle screen. The problem arises when you use NVidia surround and a wide 1 screen type setup. There are plenty of topics on the forums describing this, and covering it all here will risk HIjacking the tread I think.
  3. In the last update, the yellow highlight boxes are now floating about rather than being shown over the switch they are supposed to indicate. They are in roughly the correct position only if the view is zoomed right in. This with Head tracking and multi monitor setup (3 screens using NVidia surround), They worked before the last 1.5.7 update.
  4. I don't have a headset (yet) so I assume that the Windows Onscreen keyboard still doesn't work in VR mode? it does work in normal Monitor mode (Win 10), windowed mode.
  5. Solid as a rock here in both P-51 models. Do you have any mods that might be affecting it?
  6. Or remove the UIMainView = GUI line or indeed the whole GUI = section. Either way, it is now not working correctly. One problem if you are using head tracking, is that all radio, help text, and other messages are now displayed on the left hand monitor, which means that your view is no longer out of the windscreen.
  7. Yes they are built like the prevervial brick sh*thouse, and I wouldn't expect much flexing, plus the speed is probably too low to get any aerodynamic osscilations? Any real A-10 pilots out there to comment? Certainly thin winged fighters like the F-16 can have some quite scary amounts of wing flex at certain speeds/stores configuration, (modelled nicely in "the F-16 sim that we must not name"), and I suppose the F-5 would fit into that category.. Their wings are pretty slim.
  8. Wraith: That is why we have separate Alpha, Beta and Release versions. The Release version is not a Beta. That is what the Beta is for, and people should continue to report any bugs they find regardless of how annoying it might be for some.
  9. Sad but true, the labels offset to the right by 1 x multi-screen bug first seen in Alpha, then Beta has now made it to the release version. How? See here:- https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=190510
  10. This was Introduced in 2.x a while ago and reported a few times, but wasn't in 1.5... Looks like we now don't have a version without it :( I find it difficult to understand why a reported bug from 2.0 has made it into 1.5 See one of the threads about this bug in the alpha https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=187610 You can fix it in 2.0 by removing the UIMainView = GUI line from you monitor configuration, although that does mess up the GUI, which is not desirable. Alternatively, you can fix it by setting the GUI x value to 0. IE x=0; rather than the width of your screen. This places the Gui on the Leftmost Monitor, and for me messes up my initial Headtracker view because I have to look over to the left to press Play in the Mission. Note: the labels are offset one "GUI" width to the right. Come on guys... I can live with it in an Alpha or Beta, but don't start giving us the same bugs in the Release version. ...1.2.3. Duck...

    F-16

It hasn't gone away... Dare I mention Ehem! Cough!... Falcon 4.0 BMS 4.33 U3 .. Cough!... :music_whistling: ...Look away, nothing to see here...
  12. Yes, true. I don't think you would enjoy waiting 40+ minutes for the Turnround. Even untouched weapons & aircraft have to be made safe before anything is changed, and you don't usually put things that go bang on while a large tanker full of fuel is sitting next to you, or the grease monkeys or pilot are poking around and pressing buttons & switches in the cockpit. Even loading the gun(s) isn't like loading a magazine into a rifle. Wouldn't it be better if It did take an hour, and you had to miss the action as you would irl? Might it not encourage different tactics, esp. if you are multiplayer. Single player, not so much, since you can skip time. Just for General Information, here is a publication for UK Air Training Corps Cadets, explaining Aircraft handling. If you haven't done any IRL, it shows you what is involved. http://www.aircadetonline.com/flash_site/assets/pdf_files/acp34_volume_3_air_hand.pdf
  13. I use a Warthog for most things, but to be honest IMO, it is best suited for jets, which of course it is designed for. I also have an old X52 Pro, which has much lighter springs, and I find it to be fine for use on the props, and Helicopters. If you can possibly manage it, a desk clamp or floor stand of some sort that allows you to drop the stick between your legs, or at least below the desk will also make things feel more natural.
  14. It was broken in the previous update, and now it is fixed. I think it retained old values when it was broken, but you couldn't adjust them below 0. Anyhoo... 'tis now working properly again.
  15. If you don't want to change the default keystrokes, you could assign the autostart to any controller button, perhaps using a modifier key to double up your functionality if buttons are scarse. You can use either a handy controller button as a modifier or a keystroke in conjunction with mouse or controller buttons, so you can even do something like LWIN+trigger1 = Autostart if you want, rather than hunting down rarely used keystrokes (which might not be so rarely used if you buy other modules). I try to keep assignments as similar as I can from module to module within reason otherwise I have to start using my brain rather than muscle memory, and that never leads to anything good ;)
  16. ... and no running with scissors. Oh and hello.
  17. To be honest, I haven't really found the need for scripts in DCS for my TM Warthog, although I do use one for another sim. The A-10 practically runs out of the box with a WH, as you might expect, since the stick and the sim are designed for each other. What I would recommend is something to get your stick off the desk though. Some people have posted many & various ways to do this, with floor mounted long extensions being the extreme end, and desk clamps to get the stick base. I have just bought a Monstertech desk mount for the stick (the throttle sits on top of my PC to the other side). They are expensive, but do give you the flexibility to have the stck where you want it, and at a reasonable height. As Homefries mentioned, a lighter stick can be more useful for the more nimble stuff. I just keep an old Saitek X-52Pro for those occasions. As for a C47? Not sure, but it looks like at least one person is doing a mod...
  18. There is no reason I can see why any module could not be released as a demo imo, given that each one relies on a serial number that can be withdrawn after a given amount of time using the existing system.
  19. I run BMS on 3 screens, (5760x1080) at between 110 and 130 degrees with no distortion. Bearing in mind that the F16 head position is a fair bit further back than in all of the BMS aircraft due to the seat arrangement. In BMS, the Ideal for the same setup is about 130 to 140 degrees, depending on aircraft. As a 1 screen setup there is always distortion, and with a 3 screen setup, no distortion, but I'm practically having to put my nose on the sight to avoid forward swept wings in smaller aircraft like the Spit. The default setup deals only with single monitors and is pretty useless for multiple monitors.
  20. It certainly is a game, but a damned good one, if it was running on a full motion rig, with some guy controlling things so you couldn't have "fun" and your hours were really restricted, and limited in scope, then it would be a real simulator and no one would a: be able to afford it, or B: want to use it. I work for a corporation that makes "real" Flight Simulators (amongst other things).... and no one there knows anything about "games" simulations like DCS. Scary isn't it? I keep trying to show them how much things have progressed in the last 20 years, & tend to have Youtube vids of DCS & BMS playing on my web PC at work, and try to bend anyones ear who wanders past to tell them that this is how our "real" sim should look. We don't even use specularity maps FGS! ;)
  21. I wonder if it caters for size of round and self sealing tanks?
  22. The files just aren't available yet. No amount of clicking that update button is making them get put up any faster. :(
  23. I think it may be a very long time before I delete my install of 1.5. In a way, I hope it doesn't get updated too much, since it works pretty well atm. Of course, some of the newer "alpha/beta" modules need work, but DCS World 1.5 is ticking along nicely, whereas 2.1 is still in need of a lot of attention, and has done since 2.0 first came out, and no doubt once we get 2.5 (alpha) it will take an equal amount of time to perfect it. By that time of course, we will begin the whole cycle again, with new aircraft and more updates. The problem really is that with certain paid modules only working on 2.x, people expect to be able to use them, even though the whole thing is in Alpha. This has muddied the waters, and skewed peoples expectations a little I think. Remember the confusion caused when the Viggen was only available on the Beta release...
  24. I'm pretty sure he meant that you can already chase the sun by gaining altitude like that in 1.5, not that it "looks" the same in 1.5.
