  3. Hey all, Was reviewing a mission i did today and spotted some good shots. Hope you enjoy them  Here are the direct links to some higher res ones (1280x1024). http://img249.imageshack.us/img249/9133/vaaf1ri3.jpg http://img166.imageshack.us/img166/7310/vaaf2touchedpm1.jpg
  4. The camera shaking is done by putting heaps of key frames close together (about 10 or so otherwise its a bit too intense) You also have to edit the very first key and zoom in the frame so when you move it you wont go out side the boundaries and see black. Probably about 4 different positions per second depending on the explosion. You can also delete and copy and paste key frames. So say if im doing a dog fight sequence i make a shake effect and then when ever i need it for an explosion i just highlight the 10 or so key frames by clicking and dragging and then copy and paste them to the next explosion. Saves quite a bit of time.
  5. nice shots! Favorite would have to be the burning coastal city.
  6. Wouldn't mind seeing a bit more of the 3d cockpit in action. But anything would be absolutely awesome :)
  7. but imagine if they released it now and somehow there was a bug that made you eject every time you fired your ordinance! :P
  8. The longer we wait the more polished it will be ;)
  9. Hey Mate, Make sure your Throttle is at idle. Shift L to power up avionics. Then use your assigned keys to power up the engines. I have the keys mapped to my x52 and i have to hold the buttons down for a couple of seconds until the engine starts the spool. hope that helps
  10. Ok, its all to do with key frames. When you insert a piece of media into the time line you are able to select the Pan/crop button (as seen in first picture). Click on that button and the pan/crop menu will appear. Labeled in the picture below is the key frame time line. The first diamond marker in this line represents where the frame is positioned by default. You can now manipulate the frame by using the small markings that surround the preview above the key frame time line. You can actually see how its affecting your picture by looking at the video preview in the main screen. Simply click further along in the key frame time line and then alter your frame again (seen below). So from the first key frame to the second key frame the picture will move according to where you placed the frame. So the closer the key frames are the faster the frame will move. You can rinse and repeat this process as much as you want until the media runs out. Just muck around with it and you will get the hang of it. The key frame function works in the effect editor too. So say if you want the screen to go from dark to light add a "brightness" effect to the media, enter the effect editor and use key frames to alter the brightness from beginning to end. Hope this helps. I'm terrible at explaining things so I quickly did a video and am uploading it now just so you can have another reference. DONE: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQLiUJb2JrI <-----hope the quality is good enough. You may have to make it larger by clicking in the bottom right of the video window. Cheers and good luck, Kif EDIT: Oh and the mr loser man thing in the pictures is just a small animation project im working on....nothing to do with you :)
  11. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=txCyABqvmEg streaming video of "SU-25t In Action"

  14. Sony Vegas 7.0. Yes you can use it to edit video. There is a program called Sony DVD architect that is used to create DVD's.
  15. hey mate, http://www.sounddogs.com is by far the best i have found. They have heaps and heaps of sounds from creaking doors to atom bombs. Right click on the 'mp3' tag next to the sound you want and 'save target as'. I think what you download is only a preview but you can either loop or just adjust volumes where necessary. hope it helps,
  16. awesome stuff! Definitely worth the download for sure. Makes me wanna fly even more :)
  17. I thought this was pretty damn cool. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1worZARu-I
  18. The Intro Movie: This is an intro screen im working on for a lock-on movie. I just thought i'd share how i did it with you guys as it opens up some new possibilities for lock-on movies with out having to be a 3D animator. So i used the mk-84 in this case but you can do it with any object in the lock-on encyclopedia. The process: In the lock-on encyclopedia when viewing the units they are displayed on a light blue screen so i simply used fraps to record it and then in editing i added a chroma key matching the light blue colour. I then cropped out the bomb and rendered it so that all around it was black. I was then able to import it back into vegas and used the pan/crop feature to make the bomb move around the screen. Could prove to be quite cool for future lock-on movie makers. Some bits of the edit could use some detail to make the bomb physics look more real but i have other intensions up my sleave for this little trick :) It could be old news but thought i'd share it anyway. Cheers
  19. hmm okay.....so - install lock-on and patched it to 1.02 -Install Flaming cliffs which is version 1.1 -add the 1.12a patch on top. Could be of no use to you but thats exactly what i did and FC works no probs. Good luck :)
