I never really liked the explosion sounds of the default DCS World. In my opinion they rumble too much and go on for too long. Anyone who has heard any kind of explosion in real life will know that they usually sound like a powerful short and sharp thud. As a result I decided to make my own explosion sounds that reflect this real life quality of explosions. I have packaged it into a JSGME compatible mod for you to try out. Has no one else noticed that some sounds have become very loud in the latest version? The ground rolling sound for instance. I flew the A-10c for the first time in the latest version yesterday and the rolling sound was so loud on take-off, that all other sounds were drowned out. Looking at the *.sdef for "PlaneMoveCpt" the gain is set to 21!? This can't be right, right? Other sounds I've noticed louder than usual are the avionics high pitched whine and the firing of rockets.

Well that would explain it. Your version is really old... You can download the latest DCS World here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/de/downloads/world/dcs_world/ And the A-10C module here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/de/downloads/modules/dcs_a10c_warthog/ Or you can just download through the "Module Manager" in the DCS World menu. Your key will still work with the latest version.

I don't think there's been any word since. I'm sure it will crop up again sooner or later though... Just a matter of time. I also remember Wags asking for people with info in the Abrams a while back.

Thanks! Yes, it was indeed due to a view distance mod! I ended up doing a clean install anyway. All is good now. Sorry to have wasted everyone's time...

I'm sorry, I thought I was making things easier by not cluttering the main forum. Maybe a separate bug forum for the MiG-21 would be helpful? That was my first thought too, but this is the only module that does it. It's not a texture issue, rather the water clips through the ground. Good for you, but I still don't see them :P Anyways, I'm doing a full reinstall of DCS world to see if that helps. Maybe some files got corrupted along the way...

Great so far, I'm very impressed!!! Two bugs which immediately sprang out though: 1. I can see water through the tarmac in the engine start-up training mission (very funny by the way). 2. I can't see my wings from my cockpit! Seems to be some sort of clipping issue. Also, the zoom limits on the plane external move to close and cause clipping issues.

Best menu music so far! That alone is worth $49.99! :P

I recently got a used MS Sidewinder FFB 2 and I'm wondering which modules I should use it with (I own all). I love my Warthog and it kind of feels weird not using it as I'm quite fond of the thing. That said, I do have to build an extension for the FFB2 so that I can properly mount it on my chair. Maybe then it will feel better. I understand that it's much nicer to fly the choppers with FFB right? What about the war birds... any advantage having FFB over the precision of the Warthog?

The only carrier aircraft so far ist the Su-33. You should be able to set up a mission taking off from the Admiral Kuznetzov. The Su-33 campaign missions should all be from the carrier...
