If size is an issue, what's stopping me from using the old-school type resistors with the wires on the ends. That way I can just put the wires where I want them to go. That alone is a major difference if you ask me! BS1 is an outdated piece of software, while BS2 benefits from the constant improvements made to DCS World.

Ah, the man himself! I'm a fairly quick learner I guess... I've soldered before, but it's a few years back now. I just need to know what to do exactly. I've forgotten all my electonic theory. I'm not too bothered about breaking it, but FFB 2s are harder and harder to come by. That being said, I won't be using it unless it's mounted to my seat, so this mod is a must for me! Would you be so kind as to give me a quick tutorial and a list of things I need?

I have recently acquired an MS Sidewinder FFB2 on ebay and now want to do a similar conversion to my stick. However, I haven't done any kind of electronics work since high school. Is is possible for the realtive lay-person to do such a mod? I want to extend the stick, increase the ffb and perhaps reroute some buttons from the base to the stick. I guess the part that's most daunting is adding the resistors. The rest is just lengthening and rerouting cables right?

Are you sure you're looking at the radar altimeter? You shouldn't have to change anything in the HUD settings. The radar altitude is separate from your normal HUD altimeter and is displayed above your steerpoint info in the bottom right corner, followed by an "R" for radar.

I highly recommend using Mustang's shader mod which you can find here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=113374 I did use sweetFX, but since I use Mustang's mod I've found I no longer need it.

I never really liked the explosion sounds of the default DCS World. In my opinion they rumble too much and go on for too long. Anyone who has heard any kind of explosion in real life will know that they usually sound like a powerful short and sharp thud. As a result I decided to make my own explosion sounds that reflect this real life quality of explosions. I have packaged it into a JSGME compatible mod for you to try out. Wow, looking great!!!

Has no one else noticed that some sounds have become very loud in the latest version? The ground rolling sound for instance. I flew the A-10c for the first time in the latest version yesterday and the rolling sound was so loud on take-off, that all other sounds were drowned out. Looking at the *.sdef for "PlaneMoveCpt" the gain is set to 21!? This can't be right, right? Other sounds I've noticed louder than usual are the avionics high pitched whine and the firing of rockets.

Your key will still work with the latest version.
