  1. You probably didnt do it right. Ill try it tonight. Theoretically it seems very possible. Targets dont have to be right next to eachother either, just use different laser codes and about 8-10 seconds of seperation.
  2. Alanmc, why not just drop your LGB's x seconds apart, and when the first one impacts, lase the next target. It's pretty simple.
  3. Still, the weather model doesn't really provide enough freedom to really justify the need for an ILS approach.
  4. I'd figure you can do that for LGB's as well, just time it with your laser.
  5. The part with accelerometers and not starting up to full RPM doesn't really sound like rotor track and balancing, sounds like more than that was wrong. And they're not tuned to have the least vibration at just the hover or cruise speed, they're tuned to have the least vibration at all speeds, you just work from the ground up to a certain speed, in that order.
  6. IRL you wouldn't be able to read the instruments, because the goggles should be focused to infinity. That makes the instruments unsharp. That screenshot really looks wrong yeah.
  7. Why not like NVG's? They're essential for flying at night.
  8. Actually, in real life the instruments would be unsharp and bright when looking through your goggles. You can't read then.
  9. Well, it's been like 5 years since I've flown the Huey, and I've only got 12 hours on it, but I can't imagine any of the shaking in the stick. That'd be a land immediatly situation lol. The whole aircraft shakes, not just the stick.
  10. Well... You don't have to correct me, I'll correct YOU. The article you posted has to do with the outside of the Huey (doing small customized things to the paintjob of an aircraft isn't something rare, as anyone should know), nothing to do with sucking the values of limits out of your thumb, making up limits and painting them onto your instruments. There's a BIG difference between painting the outside of an aircraft to personalize it and making up limits and messing with the aircraft's instruments... Do you really not see that??
  11. Actually, I didn't say pilots are clowns. I asked if you think pilots are clowns :) READ. I'm right, and I'm holding a mirror in front of you. Remember that topic where some guy would point out that the main rotor transmission is like 1 degree tilted the wrong way? Or the space between some parts is like 1cm off? Or complain about the smallest of microscopic issues? Most people agreed with that crazy nitpicking, just because they think it degraded the sense of realism. Now it's just amazing to see something unrealistic being added, is cheered upon. It almost seems like anything that's weird, freakish, useless or overrated is totally accepted here on this forum, while common sense and critical thinking is frowned upon. Do you get my point?
  12. Maybe in some banana republic this would be allowed... But not in normal armies lol. You don't have YOUR aircraft, it's the taxpayer's :) lol. Why do you think it's ok for people to just add stuff to their instruments irl?? Believe, that doesn't happen. Do you have ANY idea how much time and effort it takes to get aviation related stuff certified? And then you think pilots are just clowns who paint their own shit on the instruments on an aircraft ANYONE of his or her colleagues will also use? Come on, seriously... This is not how it works irl. I know sometimes these bands are painted on, but they're mostly for useful stuff and it's not done by the pilot for his aircraft just because he's got poor vision or something. It's usually done for the smaller (engine) instruments so you can have a quick look to see if the needle is in the green. This is totally useless for the airspeed indicator, as there's already a red marker, the yellow area is a made up limit, and the green band doesn't serve any purpose other than assume the pilot using it is an idiot. I won't even go into the made up stuff for the VSI :)
  13. Well, why can't you counteract it? I never noticed any problems with this. Are you saying that your FFB stick moves when you go through ETL?
  14. Well, it just strikes me as odd. We all want a realistic model. Some people even count rivets and complain about parts being 1 degree or 1cm off. And yet when something totally unrealistic is added like the colored marks in the VSI, or that useless green band on the airspeed indicator, people are cheering... WTF? I don't get it :)
  15. It's not a bug. It's realism.
  16. lol. No they wouldn't. There's already a mark in the airspeed indicator showing the Vne. Why need a green band? It's pretty much useless. And does the Huey have a vertical speed limit???
  17. I can't remember exactly what happens, but I do believe going through ETL effects helicopter attitude. Makes sense too. Maybe you don't notice it in your AS365 because you have your AFCS/SAS on :-)
  18. How does a, say 30-40 inch hdtv work for other things than flightsims? Like FPS games? Or internetting? I was first thinking about a three monitor setup, but one BIG screen sounds nice as well!
  19. Really why would you want to use it? And why would you want to use ILS? I've never seen poor weather on an online server. Only thing ADF's are good for is to listen to music :)
  20. Holy shit! That's some big ass monitors/TV's. I really want to see the photo!
  21. There should be more detailed maps available to navigate. There's nothing wrong with the so called 'cheat'. It's just the other pilot 'telling you' where you are, because he's the one 'holding the map and keeping track' :) NDB's are rarely used for actual navigation while flying in combat and VFR. As a technique, you can use NDB's to increase your situational awareness a little bit or to know where to divert to immediatly, if needed.
  22. You should just cross reference what you see on your map with what you see outside. That's how it's done irl. Though, the maps on your kneepad aren't the best, to say the least.
  23. Why would you want to buy it via Steam? I bought it via the website a couple of months ago for €25. Disregard, that was for the regular version. But still I wonder, why buy it from Steam if you can buy it the normal way?
  24. Because there are SO many very obvious ones.
  25. And that's the 'different' (read: lower) standard I mentioned earlier.
