Noticed a strange error with the little red button on the cyclic since update 2. When the cyclic is moved the button seems to stay in the centred position.

Confirmed. Mi-8 on the ground, continuous firing of both 7.62mm and then 12.7mm mini-guns, frame-rates drop drastically. The reason why the 7.62 mm rates drop more is because the magazines hold more rounds, hence longer firing time of the weapon.

Yep, have the same issue here. Tried this recently. Just flying about, I was getting a solid 60 fps. Then, while continuously firing 12.7mm mini-guns, frame-rates slowed steadily down to 10! Now call me Mr Picky but that's just not right.

When clicking on the UV-26 CMS flare dispenser, the weapon safety switch also engages and disengages.

If you are using the Steam version of DCS World you need to download BS2 from Steam. If you are using the standalone version of DCS World (from ED website) you can download and install BS2 from ED website.

I do not get these changes to my controls settings but my modifier on joystick keeps resetting itself after each update.

How about using torrent.

Have you tried re-starting the autoupdater from the Win 7 start menu? If you have, how about deleting game files and downloading 1.2.5 fresh.

I'm afraid Nopelius is correct Biggles. The Hotas switches can be depressed slightly, but it is just the way they are made (spring loading maybe). I just use the red push button on the left throttle for gear up/gear down.
