  1. Great. That's a nice bonus. I don't have hydra and couldn't get the webcam solution to work properly.
  2. The oculus headtracking info is only available to one program at a time. Looking at the ED implementation it's unlikely you can use rift mode with FTnoIR (as tracking and warp are implemented together). You could try opening FTnoIR and disabling rift tracking and just use hydra as second tracker for translation. Not sure if the ED implementation disables translational movements when in rift mode though.
  3. You won't fly any aircraft with HUD or MFDs in the dev kit 1. That has been known since last year. DK2 may not even be good enough resolution although 6 dof may make it possible. The pictures above are the wrong aspect ratio and the IPD is off so the pixels are squashed and misaligned which will make it even more difficult. I'm hoping the IPD is off because of the incorrect aspect ratio. The IPD value should be pulled from the oculus setting utility along with the headtracking info and not set to a random value by ED.
  4. For non official support you can use opentrack for head tracking and stereo.lua for screen warp. It's not perfect by any means but it works. Search this thread for detailed instructions. I think they are posted already. Sorry I'm on my iphone at the moment so can't post greater detail. Again this is not official support and has nothing to do with 1.2.8 beta
  5. I know how you feel. I've already gone through all this with rift implementation in another popular flight sim which didn't work out in the end. This is the nature of beta though. This one will get there but the wait is agony!
  6. Do you mean it's working correctly in SP or have you large black borders? With or without the patch from Alex? I haven't got as far as trying MP yet.
  7. No mods. I'm running the clean beta.
  8. I can load dcs world but I am sent straight to debriefing if I try and load a mission. No warped or split load screen (just normal) and a 'cannot load debrief' screen error message.
  9. Is a patch file for the problem before the next update out of the question? We've been waiting for rift support for soooo long!!!! :-)
  10. Thanks Alex Looking forward to it.
  11. No there is a bug alright. I played around with it a bit. I have huge black borders and a weird green colour cast plus the separation is off (probably caused by the borders). On a plus the head tracking works. Tried my I own lua and different resolutions and aspect ratios. None of which have helped. :-( Oh well it is beta after all. Hopefully it can be fixed soon.
  12. If properly implemented it should pull IPD directly from oculus setting utility! I wonder if ED having HD prototype units is to blame. Were the HD prototypes the same aspect ratio as DK1? I'm downloading the beta now. Looking forward to trying it.
  13. I'm left eye dominant as well. Makes seeing the cursor difficult when it is rendered for the right eye. I also can't wink my left eye without my right eye closing as well haha. I'm finding my eye dominance is not as bad since I started using the rift though. I think it will be an excellent tool for helping rebalance eye dominance.
  14. Bongodriver hit the nail on the head with that last comment. I'm looking forward to seeing what 1.2.8 brings. It will hopefully keep me happy until July and I think once I try DK2 I won't care about the big blue and white F logo on the front of it. :-p
  15. Ordered as well. Regarding VAT. My last order was shipped to me from the UK so I had no import charges. I guess oculus are passing on the EU import duty to the consumer and then shipping to the consumer from within the EU so we don't pay twice.
  16. That is my plan. I am going to integrate a trackball on the top of my collective stick and use my thumb to move it.
  17. Wags, The question we all want to know the answer to: Do you think the early oculus adopters who have Dev kits will get a chance to try the official DCS implementation or will you guys be holding back for the consumer rift release?
  18. I agree. We need native support. Even with stereo lua and Nthusim combined to set the scale things are not enjoyable. Native tracking is also needed. I've had my rift for a long time now and I have found the novelty factor has worn off with DCS at this stage. I find myself going to properly implemented titles now when using the rift (lunar flight, live for speed, ets2 etc..) Hopefully DCS will offer properly implemented support soon.
  19. The stereo view works with Nthusim for the warp and opentrack for head tracking. Unfortunately the cursor is not modeled in 3d so it does not line up with the cockpit buttons for me. Is there any way to fix this? The other issue I have is the graphics having a very yellow tint in the rift when looking into the sun. It looks terrible. I am running max graphics settings and have tried HDR on all three settings without it helping. Is there any mods that improve the graphics?
  20. Can somebody post their Nthusim settings to go along with this lua file? The separation is all wrong for me. I had DCS working well in 2d but don't know where to start when introducing stereo lua script. What numbers do I adjust in the lua file to change the separation?
  21. There is black in your peripheral vision. It is similar to wearing the old style round frog man diving mask if you've ever worn one. You can still move your eyes around the image but if you look into the corners or the edges you will see the border (you can even look down at your keyboard through the gap around your nose). It doesn't take long to adjust to it. You quickly start moving your head more and let your eyes follow. It's not a case of having to lock your eyes straight ahead. There is enough FOV to let your eyes move to different parts of the image. By compensating with more head movement its easy to forget the border is there.
  22. I tried it just to see. With the 1:1 setting I found it too restrictive. Perhaps if I extended the reflective surfaces as you say it would work but not as it is now. Hopefully native tracking isn't too far away and the facetracknoir drift problem won't be an issue anymore.
  23. Won't that prevent you having 1:1 tracking? I thought that would surely cause simulator sickness in the rift.
  24. Lol. Good one. No as bad as the drift is it's better than trackIR by a long way. Especially when flying a tight orbit in the Huey while holding a ground reference in the side window.
  25. Thanks. I managed to adjust oculus overlay settings. I don't see any noticeable 3d and have poor latency. I know its early days and I may have done something wrong but for me the Nthusim solution is better at least for now. Has anyone found an alternative to facetracknoir for tracking. I don't think it factors the latest rift firmware and the drift is terrible.
