  1. You need to set the rift as primary display. It can be done just as you start the mission so you don't have to faff about with trying to click on menus o icons in the desktop. The alternative is to uncheck full screen mode but this causes judder for me.
  2. Try with SLi disabled.
  3. I agree. Elite is good but I'm finding it a bit repeditive. P3d is also really well implemented. With orbx scenery and a good third party aircraft it is a fantastic experience. The time warp feature is the business. I have smooth tracking even with fps dipping into the 40s. Considering it's an unofficial plugin it is amazing. I can't wait to see what edge brings. Hopefully they add more to the existing rift implementation.
  4. In order for the mouse to work in the rift you must set it to primary. Alternatively press pause break key to launch the mission (but your mouse won't work in cockpit).
  5. I'm not sure if you can up the res with the current rift implementation. I know the monitor lua for example is ignored when in rift mode. With the current frame rate issues it might be hard to achieve 75fps when super sampling.
  6. I have the Komodo cyclic. Purchased a few years back and since had it upgraded to the version with the pro cyclic base. It is a very nice bit of kit. I have it paired with pedals and collective from c-tek. There is a marked difference in quality. I hope to add the Komodo pedals and collective at a later date when funds allow. Very smooth dampened movement and extremely precise control. 12bit and Hall effect so no pots to wear out. I'd never go back to flying helicopters with a 'joystick' again. Rich from Komodo Sim is an absolute gent. Great support and communication which is a bonus. Thèy are expensive units but they are very high quality so if your passion is helicopters then they are well worth it. Fergus Edit: I should add the controls need to be mounted. The cyclic isn't something you can put on the floor and use with a swivel chair. Although if you're going this far your likely going to be building some form of sim pit. I have a short rift video I did which kind of shows the unit
  7. Sounds like a tracking camera issue. Have you tried with the camera disconnected? Is the desk demo working? Did you update the firmware when you got the unit?
  8. Have you your dk2 screen orientated correctly. By default mine needed to be rotated in nvidia control panel. Ensure oculus rift detection is checked in options of dcs world. I also leave my rift as secondary when I launch dcs so it appears on my main desktop. Once I launch a mission I then change the rift to primary before the loading screen appears. This keeps it full screen and enables the mouse for use in cockpit.
  9. Anyone tried the new oculus runtime released today? Any improvements?
  10. I have it all the way out and not too tight on the straps. Seems to give the best perceived FOV as the black borders aren't as visible.
  11. Zoom currently does not work. I have mixed views about it. I'd imagine that in the rift zoom would be very unrealistic and possibly quiet jarring. It may even cause motion sickness. You have two options for the mouse. - run windowed mode (possibly poorer performance and 60hz refresh rate) Or -set your desktop monitor to primary. -select a mission from the main screen. -as the mission is loading right click your main display and select screen resolution. -set rift to primary. -after ending a mission turn off the rift to return the mouse to the GUI on the main monitor.
  12. 4k @90Hz or greater is not possible with Hdmi period. It is not likely that CV1 will be 4k
  13. Oculus Rift improvements planned for 2.0 :-)
  14. If you were to buy a dev kit now it would be a short lived investment. You will still want the consumer version when it's released and by then will also likely need a new graphics card to go with it. It's fun and like its predecessor it shows us a nice glimpse of the future but it is not good enough yet for serious flight simulation.
  15. I don't think this kind of hand tracking will be suitable. I think we need tracking with some form of even basic haptic feedback. It's expected that oculus themselves will announce 'something' regarding input soon. It also raises the small issue of placing your physical yoke, throttle, cyclic etc in the correct place so your virtual and real hands match up when on the controls. It also illustrates the need for some form of common approach to vr input or we will have multiple devices all battling to be the one chosen by Devs.
  16. This info has been posted already. You have to stop wscript before ovrservice or else wscript will automatically restart it.
  17. I have the Komodo VBS pro cyclic. I got the 350 version but other grips are available now. I couldn't stretch to the collective and pedals at the time and got a different set from another manufacturer (which I ended up having to modify). The cyclic is really nice. I use it for xplane and FSX helicopters also. Rich, the owner is a really nice guy as well. I'd highly recommend it if you're into helicopter simulators.
  18. +1 Also a virtual pilot body for the rift.
  19. It's implemented using an old SDK. I'd love an update but I doubt we will see any improvent until EDGE is released. If ED are working on an update it makes sense they do it in the new engine. Edit: I agree that 4k is needed but I don't expect to see that in cv1. Oculus have stated they want 90hz minimum which rules out 4k due to cable bandwidth issues.
  20. I think dcs will have to be recompiled with the new SDK for these changes to take effect.
  21. Rotate the rift display in Nvidia control panel
  22. It has a single screen rendering two images.
  23. Nope not working for me. I'm not loading up dcs again until it gets an update.
  24. Sync would be a major issue. Remember the left and right frames have to be in perfect sync or it can't work.
