  1. I've noticed recently while testing a mission I have been working on that uncontrollable aircraft show up on the radar as ECM targets. As I have a large amount of uncontrollable aircraft set aside for use of the ground commander this is fairly problematic. When In the air I cannot lock on to targets that are already in the air. Instead it always locks a plane that is powered down on the taxi way of an enemy runway and 60 km away. Is there any way around this? Thanks..
  2. While I have you here.. Now I have peoples attention.. Uncontrolled units show up on radar while powered down on the taxiway.. is there anyway to solve this one? I was having great difficulty locking up targets that were already in the air as it always seemed to lock up random ECM targets 30 km behind the active ones that were actually a threat. It will always lock a target that is still on their respective runway and powered down.. As my mission is going to have many uncontrolled units for both sides for the ground commander to fiddle with this is a big problem for me and effects the overall playability of the mission. In the airplane group under triggered actions I can see silence and radar using actions. Would this be something I need to change? Thanks again..
  3. CA Infantry I've found that while I cannot posses the infantry I can give orders to groups of infantry using Combined Arms. Worked fine with using USA M4 soldiers but found I could not give orders to Russian infantry.. Strange..
  4. Yes.. I tried originally using "SWITCHED CONDITION" using the "PART OF COALITION IN ZONE" triggers and using "FLAG ON/OFF" but It wont seem to trigger again until the units leave and re-enter the zone for some reason. Ideally the conditions have to be met and then not met which makes the use of the "TIME SINCE FLAG" one of better options it seems.
  5. Finally!! This is true.. While continuous action works it also spawns a new smoke marker every 1 second assuming the conditions are met. I tested it yesterday with a friend and had a considerable frame loss while getting within a few hundred meters. This seems to work: ONCE -> RANDOM (100%) -> FLAG ON (10) SWITCHED CONDITION -> TIME SINCE FLAG (10,290) -> SMOKE MARKER(S) -> FLAG ON (10) As it turns out the FLAG ON command actually resets the value of the flag. knowing this made things sooooo much easier. I'm stubborn and I am trying to put off learning scripting for as long as possible.
  6. Thanks for your quick reply.. I'm heading out the door now but I will definitely look at this later on tonight. At the moment I have been using triggers and flags and tried various combinations but to no avail. I have been trying to put off the learning and use of LUA for as long as possible.
  7. Could anyone please help me? I am needing permanent smoke markers. As most of you know smoke markers disappear after 5 minutes. Thanks in advance..

Like I said, I would not normally run DCS through steam so this is not really an issue for me though it might effect other people who have steam versions of the game when 1.2.7 releases however. I'm just trying to do my part for the open beta and felt that the thread had been moved a little hastily but I'm sure the powers that be know what they are doing and had good reasoning. :thumbup:

  14. Can anyone (moderators) shed some light as to why this thread has been moved? This is obviously a bug and a problem with 1.2.7. "The primary purpose of the Open Beta is to improve the quality of release versions (particularly before we send it to Steam and other online services). We want to ensure that no new bugs are introduced and that network play is operating well." Thanks
  15. Could someone who has a normal non-steam version of the game please add the multiplayer executable to their steam library as a non-steam game, run it and then tell me your findings? I'm getting some unusual behavior at my end. Upon running several message boxes appear saying: Cannot run.. only one instance is allowed. Then a black screen and I am forced to kill the application through the task manager. Not that I would normally run DCS through steam as I find it can effect performance in a bad way but 1.2.6 works fine as a non-steam game through steam with the overlay so I am reporting this as a bug. Could anyone please confirm? Thanks..
  16. I hope so. I only use the single player client if I'm patching so this feature is fairly useless for me until its implemented in mulltiplayer. Fingers crossed.. Jazza
  17. Something I have been wondering lately whilst flying the Su-27 recently with a friend. He called out angels the other night and then I remembered that the word angels is altitude in thousands of feet. This is not helpful as the Su-27 displays altitude in meters and I would rather not have to convert meters into feet. Is there a Russian version of "angels"? Thanks, Jazza
  18. This does not work for me Through the module manager I am unable to install flaming cliffs whilst using 1.2.7. I can purchase it but I cannot download it. Other purchased modules are functioning as normal however. Also none of these modules were purchased through steam. jazza
  19. i figured i should post this question here as its related. going deeper into the mission briefings i have noticed on some servers the briefing displays only information based on and for the flight individual group or task. at the moment i am working on a mission that has a multitude of various tasks and currently i have to display all briefs together in the same screen making it hard for players to find their individual tasks. how do i go about displaying individual briefings based on task selection? cheers

  22. yes please i'm excited for an su-27 in DCS fidelity. would be great.. since the original dos su-27 game on the pc is what perked my interest in flight simulators to begin with. got a lot of love for that bird and i'd i'm sure a lot of people would agree it deserves to be made into a proper DCS module.
  23. a dynamic campaign similar to f4 or even ef2000 would be fantastic.. trying to make a realistic mission template atm and its quite hard to find the room for 225 x su-27's spread across the 12 russian airfields represented in the black sea region.
