  1. It takes suspiciously too much time to provide us updated software
  2. I can confirm FPS drop with floodlights on in VR. Panel lghts work fine though.
  3. I had an opposite thought, After the F-14B, I would really love to fly F-16A, of some early block, with old avionics, CRT radar screen, text-based MFD and no UFC, that would be awesome!
  4. I've cooked something, IronMike if you could check your PM please :)
  5. Excellent guide, thank you! I only had a problem on step 2, latest few releases don't include actual compiled exe file, you have to scroll down the page, "February 7, 2019" has texconv.exe that works
  6. Just to confirm, as I expected knob is baked into the texture (still on top), here is an example: (HB_F14_EXT_PILOT_HELMET.dds)
  7. Currently in the sim when you look inside of the engine exhaust - there is no indication of afterburner, just regular dark texture. Flame cone appears but in the engine - it's still dark.
  8. I'm joining to the request, please elevate this bug and fix it guys! As CoBlue mentioned it affects not only F/A-18 but F-14 too.
  9. It never happen on Caucasus, but happens on other maps. It is hard to catch, but it can be as easy as you start your engines in F-14 (for example) and instantly go underground, falling under map. Or you can turn on your aircraft (it can be any, spitfire, whatever) take off, do successful mission, and upon landing instead of touch down - fall through geometry and keep falling. It all happened to me very often in Multiplayer (I was hosting server) and when I uninstalled A-4 - everything started to work absolutely fine, and I never seen such glitches since
  10. Thanks for your great work Bankler! Can't wait to try version 5 :)
  11. I never had MB-339 installed, and had ugly sinks by just having A-4 in DCS (not flying it, not having in the mission, but just having it installed). I uninstalled A-4, and never had such problems since. It’s a major issue, preventing me from ever using A-4, if MB-339 has the same issue, I will not even try it.
  12. Dear DeltaMike, does other people on your server experience falling through terrain (airstrip, roads, anything, as if it doesn't exist) as long as their engine running or when landing in other airplanes, like F-14 or F/A-18? On any map apart from Georgia? It happens to awful a lot people, including me, when I have A-4 module installed in my DCS. If I uninstall it - all works great as intended. I would love to use A-4 but it renders my other modules unusable.
  13. Of course, I use paddle as a button. In this regard axis doesn't hurt, it's just not used. Useful for the Russian jets however as other people mentioned.
  14. I'm using VFX grip as well, and I like it so far, very solid build, nice and tactile. Can be easily used with gloves. Weapon selector switch is made of metal, solid build, you have to press it in to go through "gate" and switch from OFF to GUN. Once you are in GUN it's easily switchable between GUN / SW / SP. To put it back to OFF, you have to press through the "gate" again. It's a nice little feature, a safety measure. However talking about trigger, I like TM Hornet stick trigger more, it has more punch. But it's still quite good, much better than TM Cougar was, and somewhat on par with TM Warthog grip buttons. Another thing - I really like trim hat on VFX grip, it has a tactile clickiness to it, and it has a shape that allow you to actually press on a top / botttom / left / right of the hat itself, instead of only pushing against a top of a hat like in other grips, which is nice feature too. Grip has 3 analog axis: - AP disengage leaver (can be used as a break leaver on Russian planes) - DLC wheel - Grip twist (which is mechanically lockable) So these axis work as actual axis when used on Virpil base, and all of these axis work as 2 buttons when used on a Warthog base. I use my VFX grip with a Warthog base (AP disengage is a button on a Tomcat anyway, Twist I locked and don't use, and DLC wheel works excellent as 2 buttons). Apart for the excellent Tomcat stick, I also found to VFX grip to work well as a RIO stick, I use weapon selector to switch between different hand-controller modes: IR/TV, RDR, DDD, TID P.S. I also have Virpil base, but I use it in combination with my Warthog grip, as a side-stick to fly F-16, I actually like Warthog base + VFX grip combo more for my Tomcat
  15. IronMike, It's quite visible to be honest :) First time I looked into mirror, and like - what is this, two knobs? Then noticed that it's a texture issue... But quite disturbing :) I hope it can be fixed asap, for the consistency sake...
  16. Hello dear Heatblur! Happy to see that knob has moved to the correct location on a helmet, however there is a black knob-spot on the previous top location, it seems to be baked into texture (an ambient occlusion map?). On every out-of-the-box skin apart from Jolly Rogers high-viz. It's visible both externally and from the mirrors in cockpit (see picture). Please fix this.
  17. Actually I found buttons on a VFX grip quite nice, they are tactile, and feel on par with original Warthog's F-16 grip, I really like trim hat on a VFX stick, it's very tactile. But, F/A-18 grip, that I also have, has a bit more punch to the buttons though. "Lightness" of a plastic doesn't bother me much, the grip is solid and don't have any "play" between parts. I fly in a gloves most of the time, so coldness of a metal is not really a selling point for me. However I do agree on the trigger "department" it could be better, Thrustmaster's F/A-18 grip trigger is better! Overall I like it to fly my Cat, I find it very ergonomic and overall pleasant to work with. I absolutely appreciate that I can swap the sticks on my bases easily, because they have the same connector. In the end I'm not sure I'm interested in picking up another system from VKB for the cat, but I'll wait for reviews.
  18. Can we hope to see a bug with (all other aircraft) falling through the ground on the maps other than Caucasus will be fixed? It's definitely A-4 module that causes the issue. When A-4 is not installed - all landings / taxying etc. work as intended. When A-4 is installed, even if it's not used in the mission - there are bugs with player controlled aircraft falling through ground.
  19. Try to repair DCS after removing the A-4. Uninstalling the A-4 fixed the issue for me. I hope A-4 devs will fix it.
  20. Oh wow... I'm in the same boat... waiting for the "collecting" status to change for a week now...
  21. Just got a message that my order shipped! Will keep you posted!
  22. Ordered June 21, no changes, no shipping
  23. Quickly put together this GIF to show you in motion (lateral movement of a camera from center to left, and slight rotation): Please verify and report, this needs to be fixed to keep high-quality standard of models. Canopy should be open!
