  1. If you are talking about multiplayer missions -those need to be replayed as a track first, only then Tacview will create acmi file. Also, check the set location for the acmi (output) files, make sure it's the correct folder you are trying to read files from.
  2. Here you go, this is what I meant. You should tick empty box "slider", here circled red, and then use "saturation X" and "saturation Y" sliders to make your axis (blue line) look something like the red line I drew over the picture here.
  3. I'm glad you made a progress [emoji41]. That leaves the slider unassigned for now so you can use it for other stuff if it comes handy. I'll try to post a picture of what I meant just to finish my thought if anyone else looks here for solution of some other, related problem. Enjoy your newfound, jitterless zoom my friend![emoji6] P.S. I'm in no position to help you with the HUD problem right now but I'm sure someone will come along soon who can shed some light on it.
  4. Beryoza can only help you with distance if you know exactly which radar (fighter) is illuminating you... which it doesn't tell you. F-15 rwr on the other hand tells you exactly which radar type illuminates you so you know if you can expect ARH (MiG-29) or only SARH (Su-27) missiles. Furthermore, Beryoza can only help you evade (to some extent) ARH missiles and not SARH, because only active missiles force Beryoza to mark them as primary threat and then display their signal strength increase as they close on target. Sparrow should be immune to this despite of its own, obvious disadvantages in relation to active homing missiles. So, once again; Beryoza does not give a Russian pilot a distance to a threat, but rather a general type of radar (awacs, ground based or fighter) and a signal strength -but only for a primary threat. Russian pilot can only discern approximate distance to a primary threat if he knows for certain the type of plane which is targeting him, and that is not always the case.
  5. Hm... I would have just sent you a screenshot, unfortunately I will not be near my rig for some 10 days maybe. Do you see the three boxes in axis tune section? One of them should read "use as slider" or "slider" or something like that. Tick that box. Now, when you move one of the sliders on the right side of your axis graphical representation, the red line should stay based in your lower right corner but should point some 30 % lower than your upper left corner, just experiment with it until you find your normal view. I suggest firing up a quick mission and entering settings menu mid-flight so you can toggle between flight and settings and see immediate result of your adjustments. As for the jitter: try to introduce some dead zone and/or dampening (if that's available) in your saitek software. I did so to my cougar throttle before entering into dcs settings. You can also post a screenshot of your axis tune screen and I will direct you what to try and change (I cannot remember what it looks like exactly or what is the naming of some settings).
  6. I have a cougar hotas and zoom mapped to a wheel on the throttle. When wheel is it's lowest (zero) position I have a normal, default FOV. And I can't go lower than that so it is impossible to get that fish-eye effect. Half way up is the maximum zoom.
  7. Why?? Is your or wheel input not recognized by the game?
  8. In the settings menu choose axis commands and then choose your zoom slider. Click on "axis tune" button and tick the box that says "use as slider" or "slider something" (I forgot). Then use sliders to make your axis line end up not in the upper right corner but somewhat lower. This will determine your lowest zoom point - which you need to be same as your normal FOV. If you find it zooms out instead of IN, just tick the "invert" box aswell.
  9. How about making all those avionics as real as possible while having those switches animated, not necessarily clickable in the same time? Both would be perfect, though animation in that case would be more valuable in combat.
  10. All you need to do is explain to ED how AESA works and all the operational modes of such a radar in US and RU aircrafts... along with it's specifications and everything in much detail as possible... and everything about the aircraft that carries them.... so, no, I think that would be too much guessing for a simulation.
  11. "I started angling the search unit in the direction or my turns. For example, if I banked into a gradual left turn, I would angle my radar left to "look into" the turn. But then I suspected that I was angling the radar down into the ground because of the bank angle. Is this true?!" No, the radar should be stabilized to horizon. At least in RU fighters it is...
  12. Axion, should'nt the ECM indicator be on the right hand panel??
  13. I ended up chasing phantom contact quite a few times myself, so I would like to know the answer too. Is this recognised as a bug?? I confirm that this happens on some servers with awacs online.
  14. Thank you! That was kind of a info I was looking for, and yes... it did kinda look like trolling so no need to apologize or anything. Rereading most of posts made me realize the level of knowledge most people here have and their envolvement.
  15. It seems it all started with my posts, TooTall. I feel ashamed that it all came off as whining and complaining, quite an opposite of what I tried to communicate. I never should have taken discussion in that direction. If I thought better before writing, I probably would not post it.
  16. jesuschr.... Vince, the background in the first pic looks like a photo! I cannot begin to think what a performance hit this will make to my age old pc when is finaly out!
  17. Not wanting to insult anyone, just was wondering how people could deduce so much out of only these two pictures... hence the, admitingly sarcastic, first post.
  18. Yes, Vincent, that was my point. No need to go into "combat mode" or anything over it. It is what it is. Looks good.
  19. I like the updates... I was just reading trough the comments. Pictures are beautifull and they really show the true potential of the new rendering engine. I really hope we get to use it in the near future.
  20. Thanks ENO. But since majority got sooooo worked up over these two pics I just felt urged to drop my two cents... I know it was about the rendering engine.
  21. what is so special or amazing about these pics??
  22. As far as I'm concerned, it is more important to have animated switches in the cockpit than to make it clickable. That way you can always know in what mode are all the systems just by glancing the instrument panel. This goes for the fighters too. I don't think there is much point in chasing the switches with mouse in the heat of the battle so I will probably be using keyboard and joystick buttons anyway. Still, a 6dof cockpit for this bird... a dream!
