  1. Sorted the telemetry issue too. Now it’s just the small matter of getting it feeling believable.
  2. Would absolutely love it if they did a profile sharing thing. I’m trying to get the Tiger feeling good atm, and I’m in way above my head.
  3. Ignore the above. There is actually a Steam icon that was ticked within Moza Cockpit that I hadn’t noticed before. Just need to work out why it’s disconnecting telemetry now, lol.
  4. Hi all. I’m struggling to get the AB9 FFB base to play with DCS. I’ve fired up the Moza Cockpit software, and attempted to configure it to fire up DCS. However, after adding the installation path, and everything looking dandy, when I try to launch the game from within Moza’s interface, it immediately fires up Steam, and asks whether I would like to install DCS. I really don’t get what’s going on. My DCS is not a Steam purchase, and neither are any of the modules. If I fire up DCS outside of Moza, then Moza complains that connection is lost, or words to the effect. Any ideas?
  5. Which is what I’ll be doing. I’ll then be hooking up the throttle and stick to the base
  6. Thanks everyone for your input. I mulled over the possibility of pairing it with the Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS but, in the end, I decided against it. Instead, I’ve opted to try and keep things as simple as possible, and have gone all in with the Moza system. I’ve ordered the AB9 base, the MH16 stick and the Moza throttle panel. The base and stick should be with me in a couple of days, but I’ve got 3-4 weeks for the throttle as it’s coming direct from Moza, because I couldn’t find a UK seller. I like the idea of base, stick and throttle all being controlled under one software umbrella. And being able to plug throttle and stick directly into the base will make cable management easier, and also save me from a myriad of USB cables hogging the PC. I know I could get a USB hub, but I prefer the other option. Next week should be a pretty busy time, as I have a new PC arriving hopefully. I aim to get everything set up nicely, after reinstalling DCS, MSFS and IL2 etc, and also VoiceAttack and the Jetseat. Once that lot is all installed and configured I can think about adding VR into the mix once I’ve decided which headset will replace the Quest 3.
  7. Much appreciated, although I only have the stock stick it’s still good to know
  8. @Mr_sukebe Thank you. It’s reassuring to hear that I can use another preset as a jumping off point. I just wasn’t sure if the telemetry would be pulled across or not. Also, great news that the SimShaker software is playing nicely too. I’ll probably be buying the AB9 in the next week or so. It might even inspire me to buy something off the preset list. Just to see the base operating in all of it’s glory. @Kh4 Thank you. Music to my ears. I’ll probably go all in, and buy the Moza flight stick later on. I just can’t afford the hit all in one go, so am happy that my Warthog will suffice
  9. Hi all. Before I splurge out on the AB9, I just wondered if anyone could iron out a few queries? Firstly, although it is supposed to be compatible with Thrustmaster, is it without compromise? I have a Warthog stick, and would very much like to use it, at least temporarily, but don’t want to be hampered by game-ruining anomalies. Secondly, I watched a YouTube video where it showed the DCS presets, and the list of planes was minimal. In fact, there wasn’t a model listed that I either own, or intend to purchase, except for the A-10C II, which I never fly. Is the list growing at all, and does anybody have a complete, up to date list? And also, if a model is not catered for, can a good, workable profile be created from scratch? I like to fly the Tiger, and the Huey mainly. Edit: Ooh, I forgot to mention that I also use SimShaker and a Jetseat? Am I likely to have conflicts? TIA
  10. That’s what I was doing yesterday. Look out of the right window, click recentre, then fiddle with switches on the left
  11. I have Voice Attack too. I need to stop being so lazy, and implement it properly. I’ve got a feeling I bought ViaComm too, but was probably overwhelmed by it’s sheer scope.
  12. I’ve done this with other games. God knows why I didn’t try it in this instance. Thank you
  13. No, I don’t have anything like that. Plus, I want to keep my clutter down as much as possible. I have my HOTAS setup, plus a spare USB number pad. But I try to memorise as much stuff as I can so I can re-enact scenes from the Life of Stevie Wonder without coming out of VR.
  14. That makes plenty of sense. I’m in bed now, but shall experiment tomorrow. Thanks
  15. Thanks both . I’m using a Warthog, so plenty of mappable options. I thought that maybe there might have been a way to reset the view to 90 degrees either way or something. I’ll get mapping .
  16. So, an awful lot of the startup procedure in the F16 requires me to swivel round like an owl on a turntable. It’s almost impossible with my current setup. Are there any tips, or tricks to make it a viable exercise? I have a G2, and am not using the VR controllers, just the mouse.
  17. I have a horrible feeling that foveated rendering will very quickly be put to no good. As things stand, myself and probably the majority of us, when adverts are forced upon us such as the way YouTube bombards us with them, we fiddle with our phones, or go grab a quick drink or whatever until the ad has finished. Once advertisers have the power to know whether we are paying attention or not, they will very quickly start pausing the ads whenever we look away. Mark my words, eye tracking will come at a cost.
  18. Upgraded lenses. I can live with that :)
  19. Okay, so to completely ruin my conspiracy theory (assuming they are telling the truth ;) ), I’ve just received an update to my order from Bestware: We would like to inform you about the status of your HP Reverb G2 pre-order. HP has informed us that the Reverb G2 is currently being equipped with new, improved lenses in the production process. This upgrade will further increase the quality of the product, but according to HP it is accompanied by a slight delay in the initial delivery to all dealers. Based on the new availability date communicated to us by HP, we expect your order to be shipped by the end of October. Due to the increased number of inquiries and in order to be able to help you as quickly as possible, we ask you to reply to this e-mail and refrain from other contact channels.
  20. Well, probably best for the sanity of others if we both sit back and see how things unfold :)
  21. I realise that, but PC is niche, Xbox is mainstream. This is something that will potentially go much further than any current, or bygone flight sim. They have invested an awful lot of time and money this time around. And don’t forget, Microsoft have openly stated that VR support will be ready for the launch of the G2. They aim to choreograph both events.
  22. As I said, it’s just my theory.
  23. Yes but MS are trying to change all of that with MSFS. Word is that they already have a larger user base than every other current flight sim combined. Which, after a matter of just a few days is startling. And the fact it’s going Xbox is testimony to the ambitions they have.
  24. Because Microsoft like to make a song and dance about everything. And if their new baby was ready to use with the G2 from day one, then it would limit people finding other, non-MS sims from the off. Exclusivity is a big thing to MS. Why do you think that MS have said that the ONLY headset to receive initial support will be the G2? It’s because that is the headset with Microsoft on the side of the box. They want to drive sales of the headset as well as the flight sim.
  25. Call me Mr Cynical, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Microsoft are behind the delays. They have aligned themselves with HP, and have said that the ONLY headset that will initially receive support for MSFS2020 is the G2. It’s my guess that they are struggling to get the sim ready and have leant on HP to slow things up a bit. Just a theory, but money talks, and MS have plenty of it.
