  1. Thanks for the video link. I’ll have a peep when I have a bit more time. Now, this might sound a bit mad, but I would never buy a motherboard or CPU that didn’t have overclocking capabilities. I always live in hope that maybe one day :D
  2. I know. I realise that my pc has more to offer than I am able to get out of it. But I do get a certain degree of comfort running things at stock, knowing that nothing is, in theory, getting over-stressed. I may make a concerted effort, sometime in the future, to try and get a handle on overclocking. But, at the ripe old age of 57, whether it will sink in is another matter entirely ;)
  3. I’m not very au fait with the dark art of overclocking. Plus, I’m pretty sure I would need to reconsider my cooling options at 4.6ghz. Probably starting with a new case. Nah, I’ll just upgrade the whole kaboodle, and give my current system to my son. Thanks for the advice though :)
  4. Put solar panels on the roof in the UK and it’d take 10 years to recoup the price of the panels :megalol:
  5. Am I the only person who thinks that it’s about time we had a true, technological breakthrough regarding power consumption in computers? 1000watts is insane. That’s one bar on an electric fire or 100 energy saving light bulbs running simultaneously. I wonder what the true cost of a 3-4 hour gaming session is? Have you ever switched on a kettle and watched the meter spin up? I used to get a bollocking off my dad for putting the electric fire on back in the day.
  6. I think my cpu will be a bottleneck. I’ve an i7 6700k, running at 4ghz with 32gb DDR 2400mhz. I believe I do have an 850watt psu, but it is a pretty cheap one. A full system upgrade is long overdue. I’ve been ready to pounce for ages, but the manufacturers seem to be dragging their heels forever. AMD, with the Big Navi, and new Ryzen, and nVidia with their 30xx series. I, and many others, have been reluctant to bite now with all of this stuff ready to drop at any moment.
  7. Oh, that’s a relief then. Mind you, I still need a new pc, as it would be sacrilege putting a 30xx in my system.
  8. I’m not that tech savvy when it comes to pc hardware, so take this with a pinch of salt. But I’ve heard that the 30xx series will require 3 slots, and extra psu requirements, both in terms of power draw and necessary plugs. So I’m not sure whether I’m going to need a new case to physically harbour the new card, plus a new motherboard with an abundance of slots, and a beefier psu. Add that lot to $1400+ and things start to add up a bit.
  9. One thing is for certain...... I don’t think I’ll ever forget to turn the air brakes off again ;)
  10. I finally managed a proper test session with my new Jetseat, following a few technical issues with VR and VoiceAttack. What can I say? It is a fantastic piece of equipment that adds so much to the whole experience. I am absolutely blown away to be honest. The Jetseat, coupled with VR, is just a match made in heaven. I now know what you folk meant when you said you couldn’t fly without it. A big thanks to Andre is in order methinks :)
  11. Thanks. I don’t know what I had done wrong, but when I fired the pc up for a new session the F-5 was indeed in the drop down menu.
  12. Thanks for that. But I couldn’t see a list within the Aviators package. The drop down list only shows a generic one each for props, jets and helis. I tried the A10C, and when I went back to the software it also showed that one in the list. But then I tried the F5, and it didn’t offer a profile. That’s why I wondered if there was a list, to take the trial and error out of systematically firing each module up.
  13. Is there a list anywhere of DCS planes/helicopters that are supported?
  14. Thanks for the info. Looks like I have a loose connection or something, as the two front motors sometimes work in conjunction with the two arse motors, and sometimes not. I’ll delve deeper.
  15. Just received my Jetseat, courtesy of Andre. When I run the test software, it only has the option for testing 6 of the 8 motors, omitting the two below the thighs, or the front-most motors. Similarly, when in DCS, there appears to be be no engagement of them either. Is this normal, or am I missing a setting somewhere?
  16. Thanks VitS. I just checked, and mine is shown as processing. So all good :)
  17. Has anybody heard anything from BestWare, in Germany? Apart from my initial confirmation of order, I’ve had no further updates.
  18. Maybe you’ve got a real posh post code, and they figured you can afford it? :harhar:
  19. First the good news...... I’ve finally received notice that my JetSeat is ready for delivery. The not so good news..... I owe £54 in customs charges The lousy news...... In typical Sod’s Law fashion, the soonest I could have it is tomorrow. However, tomorrow I travel away to work, so shan’t see it for quite some time. The letter from ParcelForce has been perfectly choreographed to feck me over in the cruellest possible way. Oh well, at least it’s definitely coming :)
  20. Thanks Buccaneer. That is quite a slab of info you have posted there. I shall certainly use it as a source of reference if mine ever turns up. Much appreciated :)
  21. Thanks. Glad you got yours okay. I’m guessing mine will come the day after I go away to work. That’s how things usually pan out for me, lol. So probably won’t get to join your thread for at least a fortnight. How are you liking it so far?
  22. @Buccaneer Did you get your hands on it in the end? My tracking log has changed. It is now saying that it’s at “The Post Office” until September 22nd. What Post Office? I’ve had no email, text, phone call, or notice pushed through the door. Did your tracking go the same course as this?
  23. “Alexa, play Thin Lizzy”. Sorted :)
  24. Yeah, that’s beyond the VAT rate, so seems excessive. Mind you, they’ve got you by the bollocks, so what can you do.... Have they given you any clue as to delivery date?
  25. Bloody hell. That’s a right royal stinging! I’ve just checked the status of mine, and it’s finally in England now. Although it says the invoice is missing, and the Jetseat has been retained by customs. So I’ll see what happens next. Looks like yours is imminent then. Fingers crossed for a speedy final push.
