Could swear I landed gently enough on at least one roof and instant fireball as I pulled power off and sank through the roof. I should probably try from an external view but really want to stay in cockpit view.

I kinda like flying without trimming as there really wasn't any I gather. After a bit you find the sweet spot on the stick position and it's not so bad staying there during a cruise. I've tried landing on roofs a few times but each time I end up a fiery ball of wreckage. Is there something I'm missing or are you not supposed to be able to land on many roofs.

Interesting. Really flat worked wonders for me like cichlidfan said while Paganus went for highly curved initially. Hopefully the point still is to check and vary your axis setup if you think the Huey is "uncontrollable".

I had been working hard and thought I was doing ok coming to grips with the Huey.... landing more or less in one piece more often then not and in the same county as my intended landing zone. I had tuned my axis per the recommendations of an experienced guy and when I just tried flattening the curves out a bunch my control and finesse increased dramatically. Settings will vary with different gear and pilots but don't overlook the importance of tweaking the axis setups as it can make a big difference

Well I was just about to ask why if I buy a 50.00 program from DCS I still have to buy/own another previous version to use it. I see the reason now.... still don't like it much but...... ? Will any previous Lock On work or only certain ones ? Amazon has the Platinum for like 16.99 and Ubisoft has the Modern Combat download for 10.00

Wouldn't extending the stick greatly exaggerate the control movement....... ? Perhaps it can be tightened up in the DCS axis tuning ?

Had no problem installing the training series by following the simple "readme" instructions included. Thought the sound quality was very good in the first lesson. Seemed a bit spotty in the second on basic navigation but ok. Great compared to the default training regardless.
