  1. If you're not really new to DCS you know up front they have frequent "sales" and the discount will vary per module dependent on a number of factors. Some stuff I wanted asap and paid full price and that was ok cause I knew the money was going into the product development. Other modules I chose to wait for the upcoming sale and usually the wait was pretty short. Costs for developers can add up quickly and cash flow is often anemic so I don't fault the use of "sales" and other promotions as long as the new goodies arrive from time to time.
  2. I activated my Saitek Combat toe brakes while airborne in the Dora but forgot to invert. Not pretty when the wheels touched the runway with the brakes full on.... Oooops
  3. Had not been able to pull off even one successful takeoff in the DORA. Skipped to the end of this thread, watched iFoxRomeo's little video above, gave it a try and managed three takeoffs with no crashes. Landings.... well, let's just say I usually survive. The aircraft..... not so good.
  4. Definitely a "hide the stick" toggle would be beneficial on most all aircraft
  5. Have you reversed the assignment in the in-game axis controls ?
  6. It's just a beta so those things will be coming along later with lots of other tweeks I'm sure
  7. You're the best Cibit. Thank you so much. I've got a new board and main processor installed. Once I upgrade the gpu I'll be able to handle the precipitation and then some
  8. Not really very experienced with the ME but getting it figured out a bit. At least I can get the fps back up in your mission. Any suggestion for weather settings to get the general basic conditions you were trying for in your mission except without precipitation .... ?
  9. Hey Cibit, The new mission looks good. Thanks again for your efforts. Until I upgrade my graphics card I still have a problem with precipitation. When I fired up your latest, it was snowing and my fps dropped into the single digits. Clouds etc seem ok, but any precipitation and it's unplayable for me right now. Oh well, I have my upgraded power supply ready to install then I can start thinking about a new gpu card
  10. Noticed that there was always forward movement even if just a little till the moment it landed it seemed........
  11. Yes there is a separate power on/off switch too....... behind the sight. You can activate it with the mouse without being able to see it once you know where it is located
  12. Got it a while back and bookmarked it for later..... hopefully....... it did say good for any future title
  13. I don't remember on this mission off hand but maybe you have to use the radio to "Load Troops..."
  14. Thanks to Cibit n Wolle, at least we have some missions to utilize the unfinished Mi-8 radios in and they're really pretty good actually
  15. There is a mod by Devrim http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=114166
  16. Thanks Cibit. Cloudy is ok. Raindrops just kill me though. I vote for Hinds as the hunters......
  17. Rain drops my fps into the basement unfortunately. I really have to upgrade my gpu soon, everything else is good or better.
  18. Yes it would be good to be able to assign the rudder pedal brake to function in the Mi-8. I presently have a controller button assigned
  19. I too find it helps to clear any accumulated trim before landing......
  20. Wolle, the Helicopter Wars just keeps getting better. Gave the Mi-8 a quick go with the "ADF channels" active. Worked really well for the first two intercepts before I made a too close encounter with the terrain. Before that had called for a gunship escort too. Fun to have a Mi-24 traveling along with you keeping the bad guys off your six.
  21. "lorenzoj when I use the doppler I key in course to steer but leave distance and it seems to work. one thing I noticed is the map ruler tool and the doppler give different total distances, the doppler is a higher figure than when you use ruler. Also knocking off -6 degrees from ruler reading is definitely more accurate." Cibit thanks, that's about what I had figured out. And Thanks for the work on this nav-radio mission. Wolle, really anxious to jump into the latest Helicopter Wars version and try it out. Still my most played mission in SP and MP for both Huey and Mi-8. Now I have to go away for 2 days though.
  22. Flew it. Interesting. Still having trouble with the Doppler system. I'm missing something in the setup I think. The distance count doesn't seem to work properly ? The setup for the radio signal for the drop zone worked well. How far out should it pick up on the instruments ?
  23. Yeah... but sometimes you get interesting and unexpected results in a sim program when you try these things anyway.... But it seems that at least Sondo's problem was due to the use of an FFB controller as you pointed out
  24. Ahhh.... since I don't do FFB I don't have that issue. Were all the other people having rudder trim problems using FFB too..... ?
