  1. Merci Skull. Nice work with the marked up photos
  2. I was referring to earlier VietNam models where I didn't think it was common but I could be wrong. Nice cockpit photo
  3. Hell of a long way to have to autorotate if the need arises. :helpsmilie:
  4. The Quickstart guide has some very good English labeled photos of most of the instruments and panels. Plus the tooltip popups are already English. I kind of like the looks of the actual instruments and the critical ones are fairly easy to remember
  5. Gives the guys a minute or two. It's only been a day. LOL
  6. Bon Chance Hueyman avec votre exam et excusey mon Francais
  7. Zooming in on it from the copilots seat will give you a better view of it and the on/off switch in back
  8. I imagine the Radar Alt is supposed to look like an updated retrofit I think not originally in the Huey. In the world of the sim game it seems a necessary addition to allow low level missions in crap weather to be possible
  9. A good set of pedals adds a hugh amount to your immersion and fine control level... put a set on the top of your gift wish list Slazi
  10. Just to be clear, this wipes out ALL the assignments in the Armaments Catagory
  11. Nice work Hueyman. thanks for sticking to your quest
  12. Once you have turned it on and adjusted the reticle etc, when you use Shift + M to raise and lower it, the reticle will stay lit if you don't turn it off
  13. I found that the auto-start sequence did not activate the Radar Alt and you do have to power it up and rotate the low height bug to the desired height. Power is rear toggle on overhead. Left knob on altimeter to set height. And it is critical to delete your existing keyboard.lua when new bindings are introduced
  14. Well at least we all understand the word "Beta" right :joystick:
  15. I wonder what percentage have not even glanced at the Quickstart pdf before jumping in and flailing around. Not that there's anything inherently wrong with that, just saying that the guide does answer a number of basic questions that seem to be frustrating a few users
  16. Sorry. Since I never feel the need or desire to trim with the rudder depressed I was not comprehending the problem
  17. You can see where the on-off switch is located by looking over from the co-pilots position but you can also activate it from the front hot-spot. there are several posts with detailed photos
  18. I've only used the mouse to turn on and adjust the sight. Not actually sure if a slot has been assigned yet for the additional controls. I'll have to take a look
  19. There are several posts already on how to pull down and turn on the pilots sight but you will also have to delete your old keyboard.lua file for new commands to work
  20. The rudder pedals are not necessarily affected by the trim function. For being able to relax your grip on the stick you just need to light the center roll/pitch function on the auto stabilization.
  21. All I can tell you is that in effect the trimmer on the MI-8 feels like the operation of the Huey not like the KA-50. You relieve the pressure required on the stick but you retain full control. You can still operate the pedals and alter roll and pitch easily at will. Stick will re-center to your last trim position till you re-trim. It does not "feel" like an "autopilot".
  22. English Quickstart manual is in the MI-8 docs folder. Good info and photos of instruments. Also an English manual for a real MI-7
  23. Seemed to me that I was getting a bit more fps in the Huey after updating and MI-8 seems ok in limited testing so far. I'm also using MSI Afterburner on my graphics card and Razer Game Booster which seem to help fps
  24. Yes you can control the trim selections
  25. Switch is behind the sight. You can see it looking over from the co-pilots seat but you can also hit the hotspot from the front of the sight without seeing the switch to activate it. You have to delete your existing keyboard.lua files for the new ones to generate which will have new key bindings slots
