  1. As the title says i was wondering, why it is not possible to take the tripple loadout for D Variant while it is possible to put 3x AGM-65K under each wing. I thought the K Variant is even heavier than the D ( infrared ) because it has a bigger warhead. As far as i know the size of both types of AGM-65 are the same. Can anyone tell the reason for that ? Is it possible to override that setup ? There was a tool in Lock On that enabled individual loadouts ( LOPE = Lock On Pylon Editor ) . Is it compatible to FC 2 ?
  2. Good reasons mentioned above gentlemen ! My main reason for implementing ingame Voice over IP is to have the possiblity to communicate to all clients on a server at the same time. Not every player connects to the TS server of the game hoster. There are different reasons for that. Some are just testing in a hurry, or they are just lazy, others dont have a headset, others are shy and dont like to talk to others, etc., etc. If this Voice thing would be implemented into the game everybody would get important information. Ingame voice has already been implemented into different kind of games and proven that its helpful in situations where people have to communicate fast. I am tired of using the keyboard to type everything i want to tell others by chat messages.
  3. This is what i found on a little research on Thrustmasters HALL Sensor technology, which is already used in the Thrustmaster T.16000M It is a review of the T.16000M Joystick and NOT the Warthog. But it seems that it uses similar Technology inside. So i would like to quote the guy who tested the T.16000M : "It’s just Thrustmaster’s latest, which uses a magnetic sensor to provide extra precision in your controls — 16,000 analog states per axis I feel like there’s more resistance than on other joysticks, but that just means you have to use more of your arm and probably achieve greater precision. As far as the 16,000-state axes, I can only tell you that every little change I made was reflected in-game. It seemed very responsive and exact. At the core of the Thrustmaster T.16000M is a technology called H.E.A.R.T. (Hall Effect AccuRate Technology), which uses magnetic sensors to boost the flightstick's accuracy to 16,000 x 16,000 DPI resolution. What that means to gamers is that they gain a frictionless controller with unmatched precision and response. " End of quote. So far so good. Thrustmaster promises to even have more precision inside the Warthog Sounds good doesnt it ?
  4. As an adition you can change the Resolution of Cockpit Displays to 256 ( lowest resolution ) Flying near or over big cities cause a general fps drop ( sometimes i get drops to 20 fps , but that is the absolute minimum fps ) When in standard cockpit view, my frame rates are slightly higher than yours (between 40 - 50). ( I have an Core i7 920 @ 3800 Mhz, 6 GB RAM and XFX HD5870 ) Details on High ( except water ), mirrors on, Resolution of Cockpit Displays 512, Graphics driver : Catalyst 10.3, 8xAA, 8xAF, Vsync enabled) Zooming out maximum causes fps drop to 35, zooming in max causes raise to >100. It should not bother you as long game runs fluid.
  5. I quote from a readme file which is in the main directory of Flaming Cliffs 2 (ReadMe1.2_EN.txt) : " If you experience poor frame rates in the game, please try the following steps: OPTIONS – SYSTEM – GRAPHICS: - Check that WATER set to normal. - Turn off HEAT BLURE - Decrease VISIB RANGE - Decrease SHADOWS - Decrease TEXTURES - Decrease SCENES - Decrease resolution of game OPTIONS – GAMEPLAY: - Turn off MIRRORS Access your video card configuration options to decrease or turn off antialiasing and anisotropic filtering values. Programs such as ICQ, web-browsers, voice chat programs can negatively impact the speed of multiplayer game. Disconnecting these programs can increase the general performance." I hope this helps a little bit
  6. Information about the high end HOTAS Joysticks are already posted here : http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=45964 As far as i know, there is no Company that offers a Ka-50 HOTAS replica at this time ( i think so ) As you might already know, the only 1:1 replica of the F-16 HOTAS is Thrustmaster Cougar. And also for the A-10C there will be a 1:1 replica the Thrustmaster Warthog.
  7. What about a you tube video ? :)
  8. Press # for Radio Calls , then F7 for maintenance, F4 for Refueling You can request fuel amounts from your ground crew as Crunch already said, but your engines have to be shut off ! Your request will not be accepted if your engines are running. The choosable capacities are related to your Aircraft tank volume : If you choose 25 % and actually have more than 25% of fuel in your tank, the crew will pump the fuel off until you got exactly 25 % of the tank volume. As a Multiplayer client it is also possible to get different payloads, and requesting will even work with running engines. Just stop anywhere on a the airfield and request maintenance ( #, F7, and then choose F1 for Payload, now you can choose between different payloads ) Enjoy your flight ;)
  9. As fas as i know the trees are the only AI transparent objects. Every hill, solid buildings or even vehicles ( moving trains ) give good cover and brake radar locks ! The attacked enemy vehicles will only shoot back if you are in range of their weapons. If not .. they stand still like sitting ducks  But you can build complex missions with trigger zones, which allow simultanius actions of the enemy forces. Lets say you fly slowly towards enemy position, but still cannot see any threat. When reaching trigger zone x , suddenly many infantry units deploy and a AAA batalion spawns somewhere close ( as if they were alerted and activated from hidden bunkers ). You can combine this action with smoke markers and text messages which indicate the ongoing actions and prepare you for the dangers of the mission. As i said the complex and powerfull mission editor allows combats of unequaled realism. There is no better Helicopter sim out there and for sure it will be leading in this simulator section for a long time. By the upcoming Black Shark patch it will be possible to fly online missions together with other clients who fly fixed wing aircraft ( people who bought Flaming Cliffs 2 ) on one server. What do you want more from a Sim ? There is no other Helo Sim that can do that ! It is a good invest for Black Shark aswell as for Flaming Cliffs 2.0
  10. Well as far as i know there is no Aircraft in FC2 which is capable to share the data link with the shark. But as you said there are several alternatives. 1. LUU Flares which shine with a bright white flame over the target area when dropped from high altitudes ( even night missions are possible this way without having FLIR or night vision ). 2. Smoke markers, which are placed from the mission designer to mark the target area which can be triggered by actions ...for example : if enemy vehicle group 01 is destroyed = activate orange smoke on new position at vehicle group 02 AND show a Textmessage for 20 seconds to tell everybody the new location of the new Vehicle group 02 ( simulated recon information ) The mission editor is very powerfull and allows a lot of simultanius actions. 3. Just by talking to people on the server by Teamspeak ( too bad we dont have Voice Over IP integrated into these Sim´s ... that would make communication much easier ! ) By the way WAGS , please can we have Voice Over IP in one of the next DCS Add Ons ? It could be integrated by an Update for FC2 and BS too, right ? Or is it technically impossible ?
  11. And also in any Lock On version ( Lock On + Flaming Cliffs), right ?
:book:
  13. Thank you Wags for the news. Good work needs time, so please take all the time you need guys. We all are very happy, that compatibility between FC2 and Black Shark is possible at all. Its worth waiting a few more days or weeks if necessary.
  14. Well i think that most of the time missunderstandings are the reason for being kicked from a server because there is not enough communication between people on a server. As long as Ingame Voice over IP is not implemented, its not always possible to communicate with others in a fast and detailed way. The Text message Chat function is good for basics , but thats all it can do. You can´t always take your hands from HOTAS just to explain "beginners" what button to press to do this or that, or even explain them how to handle the aircraft and what the mission is all about. It would make things easier if anyone who joins up a gameserver also jumps in into the teamspeak server ( most of the squadrons do have a TS Server with the same IP adress ! ) Radio communication is one of the most important things on a server. And when the server admin gets the impression, that somebody is not obeying to the server rules by teamkilling or crashing into others intentionaly a kick from the server is the only working punishment. We all are keen on flying together with other human teammates ( because it is more fun than singleplayer , isn´t it ? ) , but this only works if we all act as a team that has the same purpose. That should be to complete the missions, but also to help those among us , who need our help to handle the aircraft.
  15. Here you can get information about the Cougar : http://cougar.flyfoxy.com/ And here you can get the only official Information about the Warthog : http://www.thrustmaster.com happy reading
  16. Warthog will be a replica of the A-10C ! :D Watch the Flash animation : www.thrustmaster.com
  18. Interesting problem, well i hope you find a solution for it. I have an "XFX HD5870" Graphics Card and "ASROCK X58 Extreme" Mainboard. OS : Win7 - 64 Bit , 6 GB RAM, Intel Core i7 920 (Overclocked) The only Problem that i have, are the shadows from clouds .. they are causing very disturbing flickering on the Mountains which are in a far distance. Many people seem to have the same problem, even Nvidia Cards cause it. Some told me to install the cloud_shadow mod from Teka Teka with Modman 7.2 to fix that problem. The mod eliminates the shadows from clouds. Well i can live with that, but didnt test it yet.
  19. Welcome to the forums turksman ! I didnt see any news concerning the patch for Black Shark to enable multiplayer games for helicopter pilots together with fixed wing aircraft on one server. We have to be patient and wait.
  20. Well, for a short time i was unhappy with the Cougar too. The spring system was too stiff, the cheap pots were not precise after a while, but after all it is a beauty and completely made of metal. A replica of the original F-16 HOTAS. I bought it when it was released and after a few months i modded the complete spring system. Since then i am very happy to have invested some money and a little time to mod it. I am sure that Thrustmaster learned from its faults and the flash animation on their website is promising maximum precision. HALL sensor technology is the key. A few Cougar owners invested in HALL Sensor Mods and they are still happy with the beast after years of useage. So lets just wait and be patient. I am sure, it will be awsome.
  21. Not sure if you already tried to adjust the axis curve ? By changing the curve you change the sensitivity to make the joystick more agile or less agile just as you wish. You should try that.
  22. Who knows ? :music_whistling:
  23. If you are patient enough wait until June 2010. Thrustmaster will release the new HOTAS Warthog and that will be a masterpiece of engineering, thats for sure. It will come with excellent precision (HALL-Sensor technology ), many switches, buttons, dual engine sliders and programming possiblities. It is very promising and will be hopefully better than any HOTAS Joystick which has ever been built. At this time we dont have much information about the Warthog, but you can check the Website of Thrustmaster from time to time. There might be some more info in a short time period : http://www.thrustmaster.com
