  1. I also have a Core i7 920 CPU which is overclocked to 3800 Mhz right now ( standard core is 2666 Mhz ! ) with air Cooling. Right now the PC is working very stable. My graphics card is an ATI HD5870 which is top notch card at this time with a single GPU. My hope was to have fluid gameplay in FC2 at high resolution 1920 x 1080 combined with high quality Filter settings in the ATI Catalyst Control Centre ( 4 x Anti Aliasing and 8 x Anisotopic Filter ) to have a natural scenery without flickering textures. My OS is Windows 7 -64 Bit and i have 6 GB of RAM. Even when i zoom out maximum, i never get under 25 fps with original HIGH quality graphics settings in FC2 (every graphics feature on maximum). Its fluid and without stutter in any situation, even a GAU8 strike at low altitude with the A-10 is possible now without stuttering. I didnt manipulate any graphics files and i dont use any mods. So i am sure that if graphic files are optimized a little bit, the minimum fps can be 30 or more. As far as i know the resolution and Filters are calculated by the GPU, while every Object, visual effects and sound effects put stress on the CPU. Hope this helps
  2. June 2010 is the official sale Date ! The Warthog will be an excellent piece of engineering.
  3. Can you give us a link where you ordered the parts ? Thank you !
  4. This Thread might help you : http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=42942
  5. Please describe the problem exactly. Here is the standard way how to assign axis in FC 2: Start Game --> Options --> Controls --> choose your Aircraft type ( for example A-10 ) --> Axis Assign ( bottom right ) --> click on " Thrust " line ( watch out to be in the right column of your Logitech Joystik ) --> now click on ADD ( bottom left ) There will open a new Window now. Now you have to move your Joystick Slider to maximum positions ( up and down ) --> there should be a reaction to this moves. Now Click on --> OK and thats it ! Enjoy your new assigned Thrust axis. If it does not work this way, there might be three reasons : 1. You chose the wrong controller column in the axis assign Menu ( this can happen, when you have more than one joystick controller plugged in to your PC ) 2. You didnt move the slider to its full min. and full max. position while assigning the axis. 3.The axis slider might be out of order ( does it work in other games ? ) Hope this helps a little PS : You have to do this procedure to any of the listed aircraft models, because each has it own axis assignment and keyboard control setup ( a lot of Work to do )
  6. That "Centering Problem" is in all G940 Sticks and is intended by the producer to be normal or standard (at least it seams to be intended). Logitech did not respond yet ( and it´s been a while now since the first customers criticized that Problem on the support Forums of Logitech ) to update the Firmware / Software or whatever is needed to get rid of that Problem. All we can do is wait and hope that it will be possible to change that .. if not.. you have to live with it or sell it.
  7. The tactics i use when i get an alarming sound and a SAM-Site symbol on my RWR is : 1. Get your plane as deep as possible over ground and use your automatic countermeasures. 2. Use the contours of the scenery to brake the Radar contact as long as possible. 3. If you cannot hide any longer behind hills etc. keep on flying deep ! 4. Never fly straight ahead ! 5. Just keep on using Chaffs and Flares and fly zick zack course until you are close enough to shoot a Maverick on that SAM Site. 6. While doing that, watch the area carefully for any Missile launches ( smoke trail of the missile start is visible from a distance ) to locate the position of the target visually. To make it "a very little bit" easier to identfy the targets, take the AGM-65D (Infrared Variant) in your loadout instead of the Kamera ( K-Variant ) With the D-Variant you can zoom closer on the TV screen and get a better heat signature of the targets for Visual ID. :pilotfly:Who said that it would be easy to survive as an A-10 Pilot ? :joystick: In real conflicts the AGM-88 HARM ( High-Speed-Anti-Radiation-Missile) is used by other aircraft ( for example Tornado´s ) to neutralize the long range SAM sites, which are capable to fly very fast and long ranges. They home on Radar signals and thats why they hit SAM Sites and other Radar Sites effectively. Newer variants of the HARM can even locate the target even when they turn off the Radar site while the missile is on its way, by flying GPS routes to last known source of Radar contact. I am not sure, if the A-10C ( newest version ) is capable to take some HARM rockets in its loadout and fire them against Radar Sites and SAM Sites. Anyone else can help here ? So generally it is NOT your job to kill Long Range SAMs as an A-10A Pilot.. Now go and tell your Commanding Officer that you dont want to fly that mission :music_whistling: :smartass:
  8. Thats not all ... Chuck Norris can fly ANY Aircraft without even touching the Stick and Throttle, just with his mind :megalol:. Sorry for hijacking the thread.:D And yes .. you only need LOMAC 1.0 .....Download FC2.0 , buy a key from E-Shop, install and be happy ... thats it !
  9. Arent they only used for long distance flights when Airplanes fly from Home Bases (Home Country) to foreign country military conflict areas ? Both, the A-10A and A-10C are optimized for CAS ( for the beginner Pilots : Close Air Support ) Missions , and i am sure that 2 external Fuel tanks would not be an optimal loadout for that type of missions. They are not a choosable option in a real military conflict mission.
  10. But in general it would Not be unrealistic to have a GPS Map with your own position these days in a cockpit of an Combat Airplane. As far as i know the KA-50 Black Shark offers such a system in the ABRIS as standard equipment. Also Police Helicopters often do have such systems. Just theoretically, isn´t it even possible to take your private mobile Navigation System out of your car and fix it on the Airplane cockpit window ? :music_whistling: Theroretically that would be possible, as the world wide GPS satellite system would cover any point on earth, and this does not only work on street level, also in higher altitudes. The only thing missing in an Combat Airplane is the 12Volt Car connection :megalol:. But with a high power Lithium Ion battery you could use the navigation system without external power supply for 4 hours. Thats enough for CAS Missions
  11. Now after they finished FC2.0 the Eagle Dynamics coders can concentrate on A-10C and who knows ? They might be faster as planned :music_whistling: Until then we have enough training time to fly with the A-10A. At least we get some awsome Hardware from Thrustmaster and CH Products to play around :joystick: Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog will hit the shelves in June 2010 ! CH Products A-10C Thunderbolt HOTAS ( release unknown )
  12. May i propose to remap the Cyle Weapon Key in the A-10 Command Mapper to another one than "D" ? There might also be a hardware error in the keyboard or Joystick Profile, that can cause such a Windows error. Please try to remap it to , lets say X key and tell us if this helps. Its worth a try, right ?
  13. Thats great News Skypat ! Keep up the fantastic work !
  14. I am also very excited about the new Warthog HOTAS and cannot believe that they are still keeping it top secret. No news about it anywhere in the internet ( at least i searched with google and bing ) Not sure if they really release it in spring...so i would assume that it will take until summer. Crossing fingers. That stick might be a revolution with its weight and precision ( HALL Sensor technology ). At least i hope so. I definatly will get one, as my Cougar is again spiking and i already changed all the pots a year ago. The pots are the weakest point of the cougar. And i am sure it wont be the weak point in the HOTAS Warthog. :joystick: --- ---:pilotfly: There are rumors that it will weigh 6 kg...a heavy beast of Metal. Price will be about 330 - 370 Euro´s Preorders for germany here : http://www.idealo.de/preisvergleich/OffersOfProduct/2002516_-hotas-warthog-thrustmaster.html
  15. Never had that specific problem .. did you solve that ? If yes it would be nice if you could write what caused the problem and how did you solved it ? Thank you
  16. As i have an ATI 5870 i really would like to know more about your setup. Can you please explain me (and other interested people) how you set up your computer and what changes were necessary in the .lua files ? I am an absolute beginner in .lua programming so please dont expect too much knowledge. I need some detailed info about what to do. It would be great if i would be able to permanently see the AGM-65 K/D Maverick Camera TV (A-10) on one of the extra Monitors. The second Monitor for the RADAR of the F-15 ? Is that possible ? Thank you PS : I am working with a headtracker ( i hope this still will be functional with the main monitor )
  17. Well actually i am using my HOTAS Cougar, but as i programmed it to work as an keyboard emulator ( not acting as a typical joystick ) i assume it is worthless for you. I programmed keyboard keys/macros to the buttons and it works like a charme. If you read the manual carefully and try to programm it yourself ( it will take a few hours to get a perfect Profile ) you will discover many many features that regular joysticks of other brands dont offer. If you dont find any website where you can download a decent profile you can use my profile. But you will have to change some of the standard keys of your Flaming Cliffs 2.0 Game, as i optimized my profile for a german keyboard layout. Foxy ( Programming software of the Cougar ) is only working with the american keyboard layout.. that caused some trouble with my german keyboard. HOTAS_Cougar_Flaming_Cliffs_2_Profile.zip
  18. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_countermeasures Quote : When employed effectively, ECM can keep aircraft from being tracked by search radars, or targeted by surface-to-air missiles or air-to-air missiles.
  19. Did i understand you correct ? You only installed LOCK ON Version 1.0 before you started the installation of the english download version of Flaming Cliffs 2.0 ? Is the installation of Flaming Cliffs Version 1.0 not necessary after the installation of Lock On ? If i knew that i would not have installed FC1.
  20. Is there any new information about the release of the Black Shark compatibility Patch to work in Multiplayer with Flaming Cliffs 2.0 ? I am not very good in these Forum search things. Looked in every Forum Category but didnt find any news about it yet. I think there are many people who are very eager to fly their combat helicopters with the fixed wing aircrafts on one server. Thanks for any info about a possible release date. :pilotfly:
  21. Hi guys, These multi monitor setups are really amazing ! I got some questions as i am very interested in a multi monitor setup too. I would like to play Flaming Cliffs 2.0 with such a setup you guys showed here. Is it posible with FC2.0 ? Or does this only work with Black Shark ( DCS series only ) ? First of all : I assume that i need a second video card in my PC with two VGA/DVI ports right ? Right now i only got one ATI 5870 in my computer. What second video card is recommended for the task ? As i would prefer an ATI card ( less trouble with the catalyst driver ), what model would you propose ? I only want to use the extra screens for RADAR ( F-15 ) and bigger Camera TV ( A-10A ) for aiming with the AGM-65 K/D Mavericks. I am very new to this kind of .lua programming and have absolutely no idea if this can be realized. A little help would be nice here. By the way, does this setup also work in multiplayer games ? I read somewhere in the Forum, that specific .lua files might be deactivated by some servers, so that the .lua data will be cut off while in multiplayer games. Thank you for some helpfull answers :)
  22. When you create a new Mission, there are 4 blank "fields" where you can enter the start time of the mission right ? The FC2_GUI_Manual_EN.pdf says this : In the START field, you may edit the start time of the mission in hour : minutes : seconds format. But there is one more blank field, right of "seconds" which is seperated by a "/" slash. Can anyone tell me what to enter in this empty field ? :helpsmilie: Is it the Month ? Day ? What does that blank field stand for ? Any Help would be nice. PS : After Reading further in the .pdf :book: file i found the sentence which gives the answer to my question. The ETA fields are in the format of --> Hour : Minute : Second / Day  Thanks anyway guys.
  23. :megalol: Do you think it would be more demanding if you had to press two or three buttons the same time to execute the cobra ? Even this would be easy to operate in a close air combat with programmable joysticks today. It still will be just one button press (which executes several buttons presses by macro programming ).
  24. Yep, i agree 100 %, i was a little dissapointed about the missing effects, because i bought the Logitech G940 just for this sim, as it was promised to support better Force Feedback in FC 2.0. But i think its not poosible to change the force effects afterwards by a patch. The effects must be integrated into the code. Still hoping i am wrong and a future patch will add some more immersion to the FFB Effects.
  25. Why ? In a real military conflict you would also get some information about enemy activity from Infantry recon Spec Ops and AWACS and UAV drones. So why would you like to turn off the text messages ? They just indicate some activity of enemy forces. There will never be any future military conflict ( John Rambo sytle ) going all alone into a battle without any backround knowledge and information about enemy activity.
