  1. I have strong flickering in the A-10 Quick mission ( didnt test any other mission/scene yet ) whenever i look towards the huge hills in the backround. I can see a lot of vertical lines on the hills which are flickering at high frequency. ( It is disturbing the awsome scenery ) :helpsmilie: Everything else is very smooth and no flickering or abnormal graphics. FC2.0 is running with 40-50 fps on deep strike and 70-80 fps in higher altitudes. I am using ATI Catalyst 10.3, Windows 7 - Ultimate 64 Bit 1280 X 960 Resolution (4:3), FC 2.0 Graphics Detail settings are on High ! Temperatures of my CPU and GPU are o.k. , no overheating ! My Catalyst Driver Settings are : Anti Aliasing 8x (maximum) AA Mode : Quality Anisotropic Filter : 16x (maximum) AI : Advanced Mipmap : Quality Anyone else has the same problem ? Is this just an ATI Problem or also caused by Nvidia Graphics Cards ? Thanks for Replies !
  2. Yep, right now it´s faster than 420 Kilobyte/Second on bittorrent, thats a pretty good download speed at the moment. It seems i will be able to fly in a few Minutes (85 % ready ) :pilotfly:
  3. WooooohhhoOOOOOOOOO !!!!! Excellent !!! Thank you Wags and ED ! Downloading at 100 KB/s :music_whistling: ...this will take a while for aproximatly 2,2 GB to download. This will be a looong night waiting to finish the download.
  4. Excellent job Eagle Dynamics ! Any chance that the english version will also be available in the E-Shop today ? I would like to start creating new Missions on FC 2.0 Editor as fast as possible, because it takes time to make it right. Too bad that i dont speak Russian language. I am so excited that i am checking the Forum and the E-Shop every 5 minutes ;) PS : Isn´t it illegal to download from torrent ? What about your support for ED for their fantastic work ? Downloading illegal FC 2.0 files are a slap in their face.
  5. Yep, its mine :smilewink: :joystick: :pilotfly: But my flightchair changed to a modern leather Sportscarseat a few month ago.
  6. - HOTAS Cougar ( Modified myself ) - Intersense Intertrax2 Headtracker - 8" TFT Touchscreen ( running Touchbuddy Software on it ! ) - Ergodex DX1 ( Special programmable Gaming Keyboard ) - Microsoft Sidewinder Gamevoice ( Voice recognition ) - Aurora Interactive Vibration Seat ( much better immersion ) - 7 x 21" EIZO CRT Monitors , 2 x 15 " CRT Monitors ( for surround view and GPS/Map View ) Equipment is still not complete, a buddy is working on panels with illuminated programmable buttons :D
  7. Voted for the Apache :smilewink: I´d love to see a two seater Apache with the option : - to fly with a computer generated WSO and :pilotfly: - to fly with a buddy in the same Helicopter :pilotfly::pilotfly: in a Multiplayer Coop Mission / Campaign. That would be awesome
  8. It would be nice if you could share with us, what exact part of the .lua file you edited and what changes you made to it. Thank you !
  9. Modern attack helicopter ? As far as i know the Ka-50 was designed in 1980 and the very first Version was build in 1982. In 1995 it was the first time in active duty in the Russian army. So please dont call that helicopter modern :smilewink: :pilotfly: But very positive thing is the ejection seat ... not cheap but necessary to save the pilots butt.
  10. Sorry, i have no idea if DCS Black Shark will work in a Mode without the GUI. But it would be a great improvement to implement this possibility into DCS Simulations. And correct me if i am wrong, but many many Players wrote that in the Forum into the "WISHLIST" Thread. But it seems the programmers of Black Shark didnt read that or they didnt want to implement that feature because of other reasons. :protest:
  11. No i paid € 159,95 And its worth every Cent  Comfortable, highly precise, high quality materials, Hall Sensor. I bought mine before Saitek and CH build good and cheap ones. At that time there was no better on the market...and in my opinion SIMPED is still leader in quality. After years of use it still works excellent like on day one.
  12. If you really want to buy quality rudder pedals, i propose these ones from SIMPED. Very good quality. And they use Hall Sensors which always work perfectly instead of regular Pots. Try this Link to the Website of the Manufacturer : http://www.flugsimulator.de/hse/simped.htm I own the SIMPED-Vario without Brakes and i am very happy with it :)
  13. As already been said, the CPU was and still is the most important thing in Lock On / Flaming Cliffs / Black Shark. Lock On does not really profit from a better Video Card ( neither DX9 nor with DX10 cards ). As far as i know even Dual Core Processors do not affect the game in a positive way, the only profit is that you can run teamspeak and maybe some other backround software the same time without taking away CPU cycle Power from Lock On. I just upgraded from a single Geforce 7800 GTX ( 256 MB ) to a SLI system. And an AMD 64 FX-57 is the Heart of my system. Believe me or not but nothing changed to the FPS ! It definatly does not affect the FPS in a positive way, the only thing is that i can have a higher setting of Anti-Aliasing and Anisotropic-Filter, which in my opinion is not worth the money that i invested . So my only hope is, that i will have more decent FPS in Fighter Ops which has not been released yet ( no idea when this sim will be finished and released ). I am sure that the developers will integrate a Dual Core CPU usage to give the game more performance. Fact is : Get the fastest CPU you can buy on the market and a Motherboard with two PCI-E 16x slots and a Geforce 7900 GTX SLI system ( thats faster than a single Geforce 7950 GX2 ) to have the best performance in Lock On ... and you still will be disapointed with the FPS when you set every detail to maximum in a war scenery with many Planes and lots of ground forces. The actual CPU generation is still much to slow to handle that detail level ! :(
  14. I agree ...if you dont want to use ruder pedals for your feet the best choise will be the Saitek X52... in these days. By the way... why dont you want to use ruder pedals for your feet ? You can fly much more precise if you use ruder pedals like SIMPED-vario instead of a build in ruder axis in your joystick, especialy in landing sequences with sidewind or damaged plane or just for aiming purposes while attacking ground targets... Thats why i do not recommend any other Joystick with an implemented ruder in the joystick axis ( and i tested really many sticks ) I had an Afterburner II from Thrustmaster myself years ago and was not satisfied with it, not enough buttons to program and the pots were unprecise after a few month of use. I decided to buy the Hotas Cougar ... and i am very happy with that one. ( but still modded the stick because of the strong springs inside ) :joystick: CH Products sticks are a very good choise in my opinion, but not cheap. But i do not recommend the ruder pedals from CH, pots get unprecise after a while and your feet are too close together , its not comfortable like a simped vario pedal. greetings GSG_9_Lightning :)
  15. The main Question has not been answered yet .. right ? Hello developers !? Please give us some info thanks greetings Lightning
  16. Nice work ! Waiting for further info... please dont keep it so short ;) Did i understand that right ? It will be possible to export the MFDs (or even the IR Monitor of the A 10 ) on a secondary Monitor ? Like the Falcon 4 AF gauges ? That would be a real innovation ! We have been waiting so long time for that. Please keep us informed about this greetings GSG_9_LIGHTNING
  17. until LOCK ON does not support multi monitors like MS FS 2004 i have to live with the moving picture while i turn my head... as i said the picture is clear and big enough to see lots of details in the game. And my solution is by far much cheaper than this variant which has already been posted here : http://www.strangebusiness.com/content/item/100727.html This guy needs 7 complete computers ( may be even more , we just see 7 PCs on the picture ) each with a fast CPU and Graphics Card to have good FPS on each screen while he is flying .... I just need one computer , my HEADTRACKER does the rest ! thats my point :) greetings, Lightning
  18. I have the mother of all CPU´s the AMD 64 FX-57 ! The best choice for Lock On because the game is CPU limited ... there is no faster CPU yet (as far as i know) .. the AMD 64 FX-60 is a dual core ( LOMAC does not support Dualcore ) and it is also slower than the FX-57 in Operation Frequency. I dont know what Intels answer was to this peace of Art. In combination with my Geforce 7800 GTX graphics card i can run 1024X768 pixels at 100 Hz with 8 X Anisotropic-Filter and 8 X Anti-Aliasing. And i do get Framerates between 30 and 90 depending on the action and textures ... cities do really drop fps to 30.... water, mountains and the sky mostly are shown at mostly 70-90 fps. The worst case is if i do a gunstrafe with my A-10 over a tank column ( causing lots of smoke and explosions ) fps even drops to below 20 ... but only for 2 seconds... then again raising to 30 and higher I always use best picture quality setting and its quite perfect ! If you choose speedsettings in your display driver you can even have higher fps but the quality is getting worse ... flickering and you get the stairs effect s :( I also use MODMAN 5 with some real nice mods to get better framerates ... you should give that a try too ! greetings GSG_9_LIGHTNING :)
  19. Here is my variant :D When building my Cockpit i had a Head-Mounted-Display with a Headtracker in my mind. But todays HMD´s are realy expensive if the resolution is higher than 800X600 pixels. look at this one for example : http://www.cybermindnl.com/ This Visette45 SXGA (1280x1024) does cost aprox. 6900 Euros. !!! :( The cheaper HMDs with only 800X600 resolution ( hi-Res900™ for example ) also work perfectly in combination with an Intertrax 2 Headtracker from Intersense. You can look around and you will have a fantastic flight immersion but the optics of 800X600 Pixels is not detailed enough to read the instruments clearly or detect any aircraft in a dogfight from a distance. The Field of View is very small (only 31.5 degrees diagonal) and your eyes hurt when you wear the HMD several hours on your head ( yes... i tested it with a hi-Res900™ HMD ). So i splitted the VGA signal to several 21" CRT´s Monitors and use the Intertrax2 Headtracker with this setup :P All of the Monitors show the same picture...but if i turn my head to the right and look on the most right Monitor ( always keeping the eyes in the same line as my head ) i can look outside the cockpit and see my right wingtip. And vice versa ! But this time i do look on 1024X768 pixels on a 21" Screen and yes i can detect any ground target or Plane that is close to me. Not sure if an Track IR Headtracker does have the same operation angles as an Intertrax 2 , but i can turn my head from full right to full left position (aprox. 190-200 Degrees) without any delay on the screens which raises flight immersion 100 %. :pilotfly: :D :D My Geforce 7800 GTX can run 1024 X 768 at 8XAA and 8XAF with real nice Framerates and that really is eyecandy. :smartass: My only hope is that the radiation of my CRT´s will not cause a harm to me with the years :( .... TFT´s are still much too expensive  greetings GSG_9_LIGHTNING :)
  20. After upgrading from 1 GB to 2 GB there was a real gain in loading times... and stutter was gone. Especially when you decide to change the plane in a mission lets say from an F-15 to an A-10...the loading time you need for gamestart is really reduced. But i doubt that more than 2 GB of RAM will bring more performance. greetings GSG_9_LIGHTNING
  21. True , but it just looks like it is the same system, but it isnt !! :P I saw this picture too before i started with my Cockpit. But i dont have enough money for such a project  In the upper Picture ( my cockpit ) you see just one Computer and 8 Monitors connected to the same VGA Output ! All monitors show the same direction of the cockpit, i just move my head (Headtracker attached on the top of my baseballcap) to look at the instruments or to the scenery right or left of me. ( headdirection = eyedirection ) Its much cheaper to use a real good Head-Motion-Tracker in combination with 8 Monitors and just ONE high-end Computer instead of buying as many High-End-Computers and having as many Keyboards and Mouses too ;) I admit that the immersion is much better with so many computers in network (second picture ) , but at this time there is no Combat-Flight-Simulation Software that supports Multi-Monitor in a Computer Network. I think what you see is Micosoft Flight Simulator 2004. The guy who build that system on the second picture will really enjoy it when the Combat Sim Fighter Ops will be published. They promised to support such systems. The question is : Have all his computers in this picture High-End-Components ? ( fast CPUs and fast Graphics cards needed as a minimum ) You know the problem with FPS drops with cheap hardware in Lock On, so this guy has to invest a real big amount of money to bring the hardware to an acceptable standard. best regards GSG_9_LIGHTNING
  22. Hi all ! first of all i want to introduce myself in this Forum too. My Nickname is Lightning here in the Forum, but i am known as GSG_9_LIGHTNING in many different games, like Raven Shield, SWAT 4, Lock On, Hyperlobby etc. I found lots of very cool cockpits here gentlemen and i am very impressed about the talent of you guys. You all inspired me to build my own cockpit. It has taken me some time to build it and still it is not finished at all. Sidepanels to the left and right of the seat with real Buttons that are illuminated will follow this autumn. I am also thinking of integrating an 8 " TFT -USB Touchscreen with the awsome software "TouchBuddy" programmed from ZORLAC ( hey man thank you very much ! you are a real genius man ! those pictures look realy cool and i bet its one of the best Programs that have ever been published for virtual pilots !   My wish was to build my Cockpit in a little different style than most of the cockpits seen here in the Forum... i didnt want to just copy ideas from you gentlemen ;). My computer Specs : :smartass: - CPU : AMD 64 FX-57 - Motherboard : ASUS A8N32 - SLI Deluxe - Graphics Card : Geforce 7800 GTX - 2 x Raptor 80 GB Harddisks working in Raid 0 - Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS Soundcard - Headtracker : Intersense Intertrax 2 attached to the top of a baseballcap ( using a mouse-emulation-software to look around in the Lock On Cockpit with no latency ! ) - Joystick Thrustmaster Cougar ( modified look at the pictures ! no more springs inside ... just the weight of metal cylinders at the bottom keep the cougar in zero position !! i dont need any strength to move the stick ) :joystick: the bad thing --> i had to cut away a piece of the seat which was directly under the Cougar... the metal cylinders needs some space when pulling the Stick to maximum right position - Simped Vario Ruder pedals - Aura Interactor Vibration Seat ( integrated to the Seat on the Photo ) - Microsoft Gamevoice Communication Hardware ( with speech recognition software !!! ) well... i thinks thats it ... for now... :P Here is my little Combat Flight Simulator :pilotfly: ... i hope you enjoy my work. http://www.teamgsg9.de/3.html best regards GSG_9_LIGHTNING :) e-mail : gsg_9_lightning@hotmail.com and the attached Picture shows my modified HOTAS Cougar
