I would like to try FFB in a flight sim. I use a FFB wheel for driving sims and the feedback is fantastic for limit handling for a vehicle. In a well done driving sim you can feel the difference between front wheel drive, rear wheel drive, mass transfer, etc etc. I wonder if the same effect could be had in a airframe... fly by wire vs cable (ie. WW2 vs modern era... Mirage vs A-10)... higher efforts during loss of hydraulics.. does DCS model this in terms of FFB tuning? if so I would consider purchase for sure. Is there an existing FFB platform with the button options /inputs like a Warthog or HOTAS setup?

Question - does achieving the ground objectives effect any where else in the overall mission? For example - if BLUE destroys Red Mountain Hideout is there a gameplay effect......like maybe certain RED AI units retreat due to fear / loss of the commander in the hide-out! Is there a 'victory' condition or any sort of meta-progression in the mission at all? SKYNET.. are you listening??

Is there any intel on reconaisance aircraft? Are these being communicated via ATC BRA calls? or arc they only visually identified and communicated?

Thanks. Great tip on closest objective. I have not been using but I will try now to see mor info on remaining objects. I am struggling with the AtC. Lots of spam. But maybe it's useful for air to air. F10 map I try it to us since it feels like cheating so I use Atc for closest airfield. I will ignore the Atc locations that I don't recognize as big airfields and use f10 as last resort. Question - Is there ever a situation where enemy markers will show up on f10 map? Question - I have been a-g focused so far practicing on undefended targets. Are all of these in the safe zone or are some in conflict zone? Is there a way to tell how difficult a defended target is? Trying to determine next step for a challenge. Further away undefended or a specific defended target. Question - I have not done air to air yet. Is there the same undefended and defended air to air targets for these aircraft like f15 to practice radar and bvr in the safe zone? Can't wait for new features and more dynamic content! Great job.

Thanks. Will look into that. Really having fun on the server in an A-10a. Question - in ATC menu I see items that I don't recognize or are not on the map as airfields (eg. London). What are these? Question - DESTROY communications menu when you see a list of nearby targets with the status bar, does each box represent a structure or vehicle? I often get it to one or two boxes remaining and get stuck unable to determine if I'm looking for one object or two or.... Idea - I think it would be helpful for new people to have a sort of target briefing - like a 'sattelite' image of the generic target types like train stations, mountain hide out, weapons factories (maybe here in forums, or a kneeboard file, or in the briefing screen). Could do a screen shot with some general targets or target types idetified (ie. train cars, parts and weapon storage buildings, commanders house, troop barracks). There's allot of objects on the ground in DCS - be nice to have a little better idea of the specific targets or object types without making it too simple.... would also increase immersion and the overall experience. Maybe if I get motivated I'll make some 'surveilance' images of the generic target areas that I am familiar with and mark them up like a target surveilance photo. Idea - what do you think bout randomly (maybe 1 in 5 respawns or something) generating a 'simple' AA defence at the ground targets in the blue area (like train station, weapons factory)? I know these area meant for easy ground target practice but a random AA truck or AI chopper or something could be a cool twist and allow for practice on clearing a site of simple threats before hitting main structures. Maybe this breaks the 'defenced' vs 'undefended' groupings in the target DESTROY menu. Question - Does undefended / defended status represent just AI ground AA defences or also player controlled aircraft that may be in the area? Question - What is best way to take out big bridges over rivers? I hit a big bridge directly with an MK84 with no effect. Suggestions? Question - does anyone use an existing teamspeak server when playing Open Conflict? The server game structure makes it really easy to buddy up, but typing and flying while over an area is too difficult. VOIP collaboration would take this to the next level. Ok that's it for now... great server!

Played again last night. Destroyed the train station (thanks for tip Anna) and about half the Arms Factory. Question - is there a way to extend or keep the smoking buildings that are destroyed? The smoke is a useful visual reference and it disappears quite quickly on buildings. Probably this is driven by conserving resources / FPS but just curious if its possible.

Thanks. Played first time tonight. Got on ~30 min before server reset ~10pm est and f10 menu option was not there. After server reset was there no problem. Attacked 'train station hide out' on blue in a-10a. Took a few passes to find targets - assume the train column with vehicles on board is only target? or is it a house / structure as well? Is there description of target areas? Emptied GAU8 on targets over 3 - 4 good passes.. only managed to take out a few train cars / vehicles. They felt invincible or maybe modified to take lots of hits (but they looked like trucks on the train but they did not blow up at all??). Also the few that blew up smoke went away really quickly - looked like maybe very quick respawn or maybe just no more smoke.. could not tell. Anyways... good start for me.

Is the map and mission / feature description in the first post accurate? only asking since I would like share the link with my friends who don't play often and would be a useful reference. What's the server rule on labels and the 'model visibility' scale setting?

Looking forward to trying this out. I like the idea of the text radio objectives. helps a non expert player like me find something to focus on. Is there a way to promote/ease buddy-ing up for a task? I guess if friendly players are shown on map I will look for similar cas or cap aircraft. is there VoIP? text chat and dcs, doesn't cut it.

Thanks for posting that. Showed me exactly what I was asking. Seems the key with the 97's is to use a strong amount of lead to time the dispense (1800ft) pretty much directly above the target. With 87's do you aim in a similar way? That was a CCRP release right? (noticed CCRP switch did not set). Thanks again.

Given the 87's follow a ballistic path and have a non adjustable dispense height (what is it in the a-10a??), how far ahead of desired impact point do you set your reticle during a CCIP run? For 97's given they haVe chutes and do not follow a ballistic path from dispense height (1800ft??) where do you generally set your reticle aim point? I will try the rockeyes. Thanks.

This!!! I had been using air brakes to manage time on target. This was my problem. Thanks!!! If I manually trim out the automatic downward trim that occurs when cannons are selected, will that mess with PAC effectiveness?

Can someone post a trk or video of cbu87 deployment in an a-10a? Man I am having a hard time. I'm using CCRP on the moving groups in the a-10a CAS instant action missions. I drop from >6K ft. I've tried dropping ahead of the moving group, way ahead of the moving group, right on the moving group, lagging the moving group. Nothing ever happens. Thanks! P.S. thanks for the EAC tip. Is there an indicator any where to confirm it's actually on? I know the switch doesn't move.. but is there a light?

Why does the trim change when cannon is selected? I find PAC function in the a-10a inconsistent. Sometimes the reticle walks up when firing like no PAC is engaged. Sometimes I stays on target. no Idea why.

Ground Fire Accuracy / Effectiveness Is it me or is the ground fire from BMPs etc.. ridiculously accurate and effective. In a high G turn at 4K ft I it seems I am hit quite easily. And even then, one hit seem to set my A-10A a-blaze (both engines, full hydraulic failure... wasted). Just me or?? Note - Playing a-10a CAS instant action in 1.5.3. Maybe I just suck.

What does full screen option do in the settings? I always thought it was to prevent running in windowed mode.

2.0 CAS Instant Action Repeatable Crash

OK. This works. But... When I set DCS executable to run as administrator I lose steam overlay interface / integration. I have non steam DCS but still running via steam for interface/chat/broadcast options. Any idea how to fix? -
Crash to OS when firing maverick in a-10CAS mission. 100% repeatable. Happening for anyone else? DCS 2.0.1.49921.15 Repair run. No effect. No mods.

I read manual and it says in ccrp will autorelease. in game in ccrp have to hit weapons release at proper time to get a release. repeatable in 2.0 instant action for a10a.
