  1. Really missing the Mission Creator function. Can't wait for this to get updated.
  2. 1.5 and 2.0 Autopilot will not engage no mater what the setting (alt/hdg hld or pth hld etc...). Works fine in single player.
  3. Can anyone confirm? I'm playing the stock A-10A CAS Instant Action mission in 2.0. Can't seem to get CCRP autorelease to work. Want to know if I'm doing something wrong or if it's another A-10a bug. Method I'm using... - Select MK82airs - CCRP Mode selected (confirmed on cockpit switch /indicator) - Designate target with TDC on HUD - line up the target box with the fall line - box drops... guide it to the pipper - nothing... I thought maybe I had to have pickle held down, but if I engage the pickle at any time during the steps above the bombs release from the aircraft immediately instead of timed with the tdc/pipper crossing point.
  4. No. And not in 2.0. Also autopilot doesn't work in multiplayer Also - I don't think CCRP auto release is working. I think DCS is missing an opportunity in the a-10A. Allot of people know this sim for the A-10C but maybe get turned off by the steep learning curve. The A has a great flight model, nice depth of systems but makes it super easy to get blowing stuff up on the battlefield. I think it's a great 'trainer' for the C. I'd love to see the A-10a as a free component in DCS world with a solid set of training missions and all the bugs worked out. I think it would help bring in more people into the depths of the DCS world. Here's hoping to some love for the A-10A!
  5. I agree with OP even though I am very familiar with DCS. Youtube is fine, reading forums ...OK. Integrated, user friendly tutorials are important. Same goes for pre-loaded profiles for common devices that leverage 'expert' experience in terms of mapping etc.. An investment in this area I think would go a long way towards converting folks from dcs world free version 'tasters' to paying 'addicts' - not to mention creating a more user friendly, lower effort and enjoyable experience for all of us.
  6. Has DCS released anything on a weekend in the past? I remember sales but not sure about s/w release. I would expect Monday if I was betting.. but boy... the weekend would be so nice.
  7. Tried to learn the f86 today. Rocket accuracy still seem strange - falling short like in the video above. Seems depression angle needs to be quite high to keep on target. Am I right in assuming depression angle should be set to the AOA for the run?
  8. Agreed. I stopped flying this plane until some sort of improved FM is released (and they fix the wonky gun sight). Lots of potential though!

  11. I will have to look at this too. I know deadzone and sensitivity can be adjusted but I don't recall adjustment to 0 point or resting state. I could use this as default state for both longitudinal position and tilt for me could use tweaking in some aircraft. Are you sure this is possible?
  12. Wow...couldn't disagree more. Systems management... yes. Flying... no. When I say flying I mean airframe management. With a caveat that in FC3 you only get this when you get a module with greater than SFM (F-15, a-10a, etc.. for example).

  15. it is messed up in the a10a. It engages when the gun is selected... as soon as you select cannon mode the plane pitches down hard... it's been written about in other threads.. no fix....
  16. Was this done with 1.2.7? One thing I have noticed in 1.2.7 is significant trim down from level flight when SELECTING the cannon as the active weapon. When deselecting level flight resumes. I am sure this is related to the PAC system, however I think automatic trimming down should only occur when FIRING the cannon, not when SELECTING it. Have you noticed this? I have not tried the 1.2.8 beta to see if the issue persists. On another note - I've noticed that to destroy T55's it takes a considerable amount of ammunition with the GAU and multiple runs at a single target. In this vid I didn't see you actually destroy a tank (smoke, explosion). How many runs would you take at a t55 to take it out? BTR's, BRDM's etc... are destroyed like paper vehicles it seems in this game.

  18. These are still a great reference. However I think they need to be updated - not so much for the key commands, but for the weapons system reference on page 2. Specifically the SU-25T seems to be missing some weapons systems (KH-29L, KH29-T, KH-58U). I really like the page 2 doc as when you are learning it is a GREAT reference for the weapon systems when you are not familiar. Any chance for an A-10A version?
  19. Good question. Having rockets all launch from one side makes maintaining aim while firing very difficult as the yaw that is induced is very disruptive.
  20. 1. What is the difference if I use simple "TV" guidance from the SHKVAL vs turning the laser on when targeting and firing Vikhr's? I've done both ways and see no benefit to using the laser. 2. What is the trick to fire 2 (or more) Vikhr's at a time? After getting LA I can release a rocket. There is then a delay from then I get another LA and can release a 2nd Vikr. Thanks.
  21. PAC is definitely goofy on the A. As soon as you enter CANNON mode the plane trims down like crazy. I think this is ok if it trimmed down when I was FIRING the cannon.... the problem is the A-10A trims down when you SELECT the cannon.... WRONG!! So what ends up happening is you select cannon.... A-10A trims down like crazy.... you correct for level flight again... and now when you FIRE the cannon, you get no PAC adjustment since you just trimmed it all out! PAC trim adjustment should activate when you FIRE the CANNON not when you SELECT the CANNON as the active weapon! This needs to be fixed....
  22. Read the F-15 section in the FC3 manual. It's located in the "Eagle Dynamics / Documentation / User Manual" folder (or something like that) I think. It is pretty good - updated to the newer cockpit etc.. and walks through some scenarios using the radar, different missile types, explains HUD symbology etc.. Once you walk through the manual play in free-flight (ie. quick mission or generate a mission with the F-15 with one or two bandits) and mess around with the manual in front of you. Once you get comfortable with mode switching, radar modes you do and don't need, manipulating the scan ranges, locking targets etc... you can reference youtube for 'techniques' like using radar notch to evade, etc... One last thing. The biggest benefit I found to familiarize myself was defining my controls and mapping to my HOTAS. Even if you don't have a HOTAS remapping common keys and just familiarization will go along way to learning the aircraft. I do wish they had interactive F-15 training missions..... they are so much better than reading then trying, but in the end you'll pick it up.
