  2. These are great suggestions, thanks (except for the one directly above!). I think I will start with the editor and look at the stock SU25T missions to see if I can add clients. I like the idea of using a big city as a landmark with tiers of defenses to get through 'cooperatively'. Perhaps with a few waves of Hind's or something for simple AtoA engagement. Thanks everyone!
  3. Thanks for the reply and suggestion. I will investigate to the editor and the mission generator. The guys i play with really value a cooperative, tactical gaming experience. I have never had such an experience with a flight sim - so i am hoping dcs can deliver (or rather the mission can deliver) Any suggestions on cooperative mission topics, scenarios, objectives or ideas would be welcome!
  4. Sorry - just realized (I think!) the SU-25T (not A) comes with DCS world for free. My mistake, but same question!
  5. I'd like to host a mission or (better) small campaign to wet the pallette of my gaming buddies on DCS. I'd like it to primarily use the SU-25A for a few of reasons. One - its low cost of entry for my friends who don't own any DCS modules, Two- it's an FC3 level aircraft so the learning curve is less steep, and Three - its a nicely modeled example of all things good with DCS (3D Cockpit, nice flight model, realistic experience etc..). Can anyone suggest a 'newb' but fun multiplayer mission or campaign that would be good to use based on the above? Thanks for any suggestions.
  6. Just noticed 2 issues with A-10A 1) Switching to GUNS mode makes the aircraft pitch down considerably. Have to trim it out. I think this is a PAC thing - but should it have such a dramatic effect on trim as soon as you switch to GUNS (I thought only when firing). 2) PAC seeming like its not functioning on INSTANT ACTION mission for A-10A. Very strange.
  7. Same issue here. Cant fire weapons in the interactive training missions. In free flight everything works fine.
  8. Agreed. Why no response from the testing team? They are usually pretty good about communicating when an issue is logged.
  9. Ebay x52pro is the way to go. I picked up one for $80 bucks from a liquidator on ebay. Showed up and pitch axis was intermittent, jumping all over. Emailed the seller who refunded $60 (firgured 20$ for just the throttle was a good deal even if the stick doesn't work as I had a 3dPRO like the poster above - nice stick by the way, just needs more 4-ways). Proceeded to then open up the joystick, soldered the loose ground wire (high suspicion it pretty much had to be a bad ground) and now have an X52pro for $20 bucks! Overall the HOTAS is nice. Could use another 4 way on the stick but... meh.. It's ok. Also I find the base of the stick is quite thick... so it sits pretty high on the desk but I'm used to it now. Nice thing about the X52 lineup is there are a million profiles and maps easily downloaded... saved me lots of time configuring games like BMS and DCS A-10C.

  11. Thanks. I did see this post over on steam. It works until you enter a game and then launcher closes and Steam no longer recognizes you are playing DCS. I caught up with the STEAM faq and it seems a new launcher.exe is coming to fix this.
  12. When setting controls in DCS using my X52 pro I do not need to specify axis or button settings. I simply click the desired function and then hit the button, or cycle the axis I want to control that function. Autodetection within DCS works just fine for me.
  13. Can anyone help? I would like to keep my NON steam DCS world and all the modules I have just the same but I would like to: - enable STEAM to detect I am playing so my steam friends can seem I'm in DCS world (either single player, multi player etc..) - would like the STEAM overlay if possible - but no big deal I have added LAUNCHER.EXE as a non steam game, but since DCS closes launcher after you select an option from the main menu (ie. multiplayer, instant action etc..) STEAM no longer detects I am playing the game and my steam status goes to "ONLINE". I hope my question is clear. Thanks

  16. Thanks for posting this track. Gives me evidence that they can work... I just need to figure out what I'm doing wrong. Question.. if there are no IR targets in range, no detonation right? I am trying to use this ordnance on the A-10A quickstart mission (small groups of 4 - 6 T90's or BMP's moving quickly. Perhaps not the best mission to learn on. Static targets may be better.
  17. CBU-97's or whatever the anti-tank cluster bombs are impossible to use. Drop from 5K ft, 8Kft 3Kft... doesn't matter. Sometimes you get puffs of grey smoke followed by explosions. Sometimes no explosions. Makes no sense and is completely frustrating. It wouldn't be so bad if the instant action mission for A-10A forced them on you. Annoying!!

  19. This is good info. 4 sec delay for submunition disperse means you need a pretty high release point to allow for 4 seconds of freefall - maybe 5k feet? I assumed that the impact point was for the dumb bomb line and not the submunition so aiming 'long' was always part of my attack plan. The 4 second free-fall was not however so this is very helpful!   20. Yes I agree. If the A-10a does not have all the complex settings for the CBU-97's we should at least know what they are set for so we can plan attacks accordingly!
  21. I think if the A-10A modelled in FC3 is IRL is not supposed to have PAC then I am OK with manually doing the trim thing. If it does have PAC then it should be in the sim in some way shape or form. Just my 2 cents.
  22. Is it realistic for the A-10a to have no compensation?
  23. Your initial video is great. Can't wait for the others. Maybe you can even post the .trk's for 'interactive' supplement to the youtube videos!
