  1. I'm not half as concerned about the in cockpit sound of the gun as the external sound. I'm putting together a YouTube video on the subject. I'll publish it when it's done. I think that all the companies should be on the same programming/sound file page when simulating the same equipment. All the M61 Vulcans should use the same program and sound files. That would be an issue for ED and the third party developers to decide to hash out. I'm sure there would be some barriers, but Heat Blur can do better than they have even on their own...
  2. I would agree, except, the problem is module specific. Other modules don't have the same problem...
  3. Heat Blur, your track file problems are a consistent mess. Your programming is the problem! You can't have consistent issues and not have a programming issue... Exhibit A This is my repeat performance of the same track file...over and over again. Every other play is the same, but it deviates between crash and success...every time...and your gun sound suck! But, I digress with that...be excellent or get out...You're supposed to be making a simulator, not engaging in artistic license!
  4. I also know how to put 2+2 together. You'd be amazed at how logic works. It's like discovering fire for the first time...ED won't say it, but I will. Heatblur is doing great work, but I'm busting their go nads over a small but true point... Also, fix your track replay problems, Heatblur. You have a consistent problem that is your programing...fix it!
  5. With all these aircraft, the only thing that really matters is this: 6,000 rounds per minute at the normal high fire rate. Even if the gun is positioned in slightly different places in the different types of aircraft, it isn't going to change the sound the pilot hears in any radical way. Sure the sound may be coming from a different direction depending on type aircraft, but the frequency and rate of fire will still be the same. It may sound a little louder in one aircraft type, and in a different direction, but the sound isn't going to be radically different. The F-14 is significantly different in that module.
  6. This is an, "in-cockpit" F-16 video during gun firing, but it shouldn't sound any different in any other aircraft, except the sound should be coming from the direction gun is in relation to the crew...
  7. Well, if anyone doesn't care about the accuracy of the gun sound, then they must not care about the accuracy of any of it. Why even have it at all? It might as well be Minecraft! Again, the F-14 gun would sound just like all the other guns that are M-61A1 Vulcan...inside and outside. The only thing that's going to change the sound will be the rate of fire...which is 6k rounds per minute at the normal high rate, and to the outside observers the distance and atmospherics might make some difference, but the current sound of the gun in the F-14 is totally off. That is a fact! It's not going to sound any different because of what airframe its shooting from. That would be a completely ridiculous bit of reasoning. Do I care? Hell YES I care... For those that don't, fine. I guess it doesn't even make sense for you to voice your lack of concern...
  8. Thanks guys. I already have the mouse option checked. I'll try the hand controller thing the next time I see this problem...It resolves when I reboot the PC, though...
  9. I also checked the external sound for the DCS: F-14 gun...it's the exact same sound as the internal sound. Those that are defending the inaccurate sound of the gun as artistic license forget the DCS is supposed to be about getting as realistic as possible. It's not merely about art. You forget it's supposed to be a simulator. The real aircraft has the same gun as the other Teen series fighter, and therefore they all sound the same inside and outside...
  10. Are you kidding??? It sounds like every other M61A1 Vulcan cannon in DCS World... It sounds the same as the F-15/F-16/FA-18, and every other aircraft that carries the same type gun! Did you think they put a muffler on the F-14 gun?
  11. My EVGA RTX 3090 Ultra Gaming PC has been shutting down only when using my HP Reverb G2 playing DCS World 2.7.4. It's reaching 82C...this has only happened since about the 30 June 2021 update...and only in VR... I can play for about 30 minutes before it crashes. Below is a Jayztwocents video about an emerging problem involving the 3080/90 EVGA cards. https://youtu.be/KLyNFrKyG74
  12. My EVGA RTX 3090 Ultra Gaming PC has been shutting down only when using my HP Reverb G2 playing DCS World 2.7.4. It's reaching 82C...this has only happened since the prior update to today's update...and only in VR... https://youtu.be/KLyNFrKyG74
  13. My mouse cursor won't move when I put on the VR headset. As soon as I take off the headset it moves again on the monitor screen, but not when I put on the headset. Also, I switched to NO mouse in the VR settings page, but I don't know what key to press when I try to select items. The mouse button doesn't work, the spacebar doesn't work, nor the enter key... Now I can't even get to the VR page and select mouse...
  14. I swear DCS: F-14's gun sounds just like the gun in Microprose's Fleet Defender. It sounds like a MIDI sound effect. Please fix it, to sound like the real gun...
  15. I was having this problem as well. I fixed the problem by removing all the Jets and redoing them. I guess the mission was just broken somehow, but doing this fixed it...
  16. When I have six tankers in the area, and all the aircraft needing fuel gang up on one tanker, and all the other tankers are ignored till the first one runs out of gas to give, I'd say that is not realistic at all. The fighters will run out of gas in DCS and crash rather than go to the next available tanker. That's ridiculous... As for this picture, I can't tell if this is a Ferrying mission to get fighters to distant locations as in a deployment, or are they in the AOR supporting actual combat operations? Those are very different missions, and I can't tell with this picture. In any case, they track fuel very carefully on both ends. Usually, missions are very specific with specific routes and tanker support for those missions. They aren't random encounters...
  17. Please make it possible to assign specific flights to tank with specific tankers. Right now huge gaggles of jets chase one tanker even when there are several nearby... It might also be good to assign specific amounts of fuel to give, and not to just filler up full on each jet.
  18. I have a mission with 6 flights of 4x FA-18's returning to the carrier where the first aircraft recovers normally, but the second aircraft gets stuck orbiting at low altitude, thus blocking all subsequent aircraft.
  19. I've created a mission with 24 F/A-18's and 6 Tankers. In real life missions are planned with aircraft assigned to tank on specific tankers. This prevents too many aircraft from trying to tank off one tanker as well as maximizing refueling aircraft as quickly as possible. If there's no way to assign aircraft to specific tankers, please include it.
  20. As a downed pilot, they could call for rescue and give position coordinates that act as a rescue waypoint for AI, or human, player rescue helicopters that are placed in game. A whole CSAR mission would then be available... Also, a pilot could be rescued by ground or naval forces...
  21. It would be nice if DCS had a first person experience able to interact with game objects. Players could be individual soldiers, sailors, airmen. It could be part of Combined Arms. Pilots could start on a base and go out to their aircraft and board it. They could interact with the environment after they eject by doing escape and evasion from enemy troops, being rescued, or even stealing enemy equipment to get back to base. Or, fight as a soldier, or sailor. The possibilities are endless. At the very least, make the ejected pilot walk in a way that doesn't make me want to puke from the motion!
  22. Just like it says! Please see attachmentAnapa vs Carrier Strike Group.miz
  23. I realize that, but I think it's necessary because of the FC3 aircraft can't tune radios.
  24. Is this an FC3 issue? If you're flying a complex aircraft, then you're not going to hear all the comm chatter from all the frequencies. You'll only hear the radios that you've tuned up...
  25. It would be nice if it was possible to get AI flights to load the runway in position and hold, and then depart with the 10 second intervals, like the real aircraft flights do... Having flights depart one aircraft at a time takes too long to get large AI strike packages off the ground. Even the Carrier departures could be faster on the catapult launches...
