  1. I can recommend this company: https://www.flightsounds.com/ Fantastic customer service and awesome quality products, you definitely get what you pay for. I have the FSX-M for my HGU 55 and it's great. Send them an email if your not sure which model you need.
  2. Awesome! Thanks for this and all your other profiles, will definitely start flying the Mi-8 more when you release this. You have made my DCS experience that much better with your profiles!
  3. Thanks mate  Will definetly get this printed out
  4. Great looking site and thanks for the work! But the download link seems broken, I get website not available and this DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN. Cheers Robin
  5. I will build my multi role cockpit inspired by the Gripen, so here are some templates for the side consoles, inspired by the Gripen. Disclaimer! I've based these on pictures and Dzus standard, BUT converted to metric, I will make a imperial version later on! I'm not 100% sure that the Gripen uses Dzus standard panels, but it looks correct from my own comparisons. So everthing is in millimeters, according to this exellent guide: http://mycockpit.org/tutorials/Panelbuildingfocussedondimensions.pdf Note that the lower panel assemblies aren't full lenght to the rear, and the right lower panel doesn't have correct "Dzus lenght" yet on all the panels, the rest of it is fairly accurate. I will make my own panels based on these templates, will share that too when I've decided on what I need and so on. Remember, these are very much work in progress! Things to do: -correct length on panel assemblies and fine tuning. -add my own designed panels -build the consoles when I've figured out the angles and such -imperial version -correct Dzus fastener positions Will probably not make correct Gripen panels since I don't have the measurement for the switch positions on those, so 100% accuracy won't be possible. Enjoy, feel free to use them as you like, don't claim them as your own though! Cheers Robin Gripen panels.rar
  6. Love it! Always enjoy seeing others go "all-in" on their builds, flight gear and everything. Looking forward to seeing more of your build, great work so far! :) Cheers, Robin
  7. Press the number buttons above the "QWER" keyes. 1 - Pilot 2 - Co-pilot 3+4 - Door gunners Cheers!
  8. Just a warning that it will do what you expect, but it can be pretty "violent" in some games, for example FSX. It can throw it self around pretty hard if you have strong FFB settings. Edit: Without you gripping the stick ofcourse
  9. There is a optical sensor on the front side of it. It's there to deactivate the motors when you're not gripping it, covering it up with tape or similar solves is. But be aware that it will move around if your still in-game after that.
  10. I recently bought the Flight sound X-M, definietly worth it! Remember to buy the right version tho. Fantastic customer service, very service minded and can do some custom work if you need that. Can highly recommend them! http://www.flightsounds.com/products
  11. It did feel stiffer than the real Gripen stick I tried, but that was also on the ground. I do think that the prototype is a little stiffer than the production one, but I don't think being grounded affects it. I forgot to ask a technician about it specifically, but they never mentioned it when we were talking about the FBW. The reason I think they made it stiff, (me speculating, NOT based on any facts), is that it's very precise with little effort and still gives you movement when you make a hard turn, then perhaps they changed it for the production. EDIT: This is only from my memory, so I could be wrong on many things!
  12. Thanks for the imput, I've had it for quite a some time too, but never taken apart the base and checked on the gimbals myself, only read others experiences. I have one "sacrificial" stick, no PCB's or switches, that I'm going to try it on regardless, but I will start with a low density foam at first. With this solution I can't go as stiff as the Gripen prototype, but a little perhaps. The best solution would be the FSSB R3, then the gimbal is out of the equation, but it's hard to justify the cost, just to make the stick "feel a little nicer". But again, thanks for the input, very appreciated!
  13. The condom mod might work, will try that, thanks! I will try some different density foam and see what gives the best results, hopefully a more dense one doesn't put to much stress on the gimbal. I used a extended TM before and also a modded MS FFB2 stick, but it won't fit the cockpit I'm building, as it will be a multi-role pit, inspired by the Gripen layout. Attaching a image showing the fly-by-wire stick:
  14. I'm thinking of going the opposite of most and have a stiffer TM Warthog, I would like it to be a mix between a regular spring stick and a force sensor stick, if that makes any sense. I recently tried a SAAB Gripen stick prototype, and it was much stiffer than the TM Warthog, so it thought that maybe I can mod it to be closer to the Gripen's, because I quite liked it. What would be the best way to accomplish that? I see two options: -First it to perhaps add a spring to the TM to make it feel closer to it, and then setup curves in DCS so that it's playable. - Secondly would be to get the FSSB R3 and then make a baseplate that has a little give in it, maybe a thicker rubber piece. This is pretty expensive tho, even if the FSSB R3 is a nice piece of gear. The sought after result should be that it feels like a force senor stick when I put little force on it, but moves when I put alot of force on it. Any suggestion, feedback and idea is welcome, but if you don't like it and don't have any contructive to say, please move along :) Cheers, Robin
  15. There was one thread covering this, "Oculus rift dk2 bigger HUD", but it seems to have been removed. There is a way tho, iirc. I don't remember how to do it, but someone surely does :)
  16. Thanks Mate! Do you have any plans on making some reinforced seats? ACES II or Mk14 NACES? If you end up making a F/A-18 cockpit and Mk14 seat, I'll definitely buy one of each! Cheers, Robin
  17. Looking forward to some pictures! Cheers!
  18. I've been following this since the Kickstarter, and I like the idea. I'm personally building a MDF simpit, but I wish you all the luck and hope that you get to sell many of these. The quality seems great and hopefully people that want a "ready" cockpit with minimal work find these, It looks awesome with Helios! Cheers, Robin
  19. I would love to see some affordable F/A-18C panels!
  20. I'm one of the 5 customers, and I asked for a refund in november iirc, but I still haven't got any answer or refund. I'm really hoping that he will set things right, I don't want a bonus or anything like that. I just want the product I payed for, or a refund.
  21. Military headset, using U-174 plug for an example. Probably not the correct term, but that's what I usually call them. :)
  22. Well, he didn't ask for everybody's personal opinion. So I'm going to be a little helpful atleast... I've heard that these work with MIL-headsets amongs others: http://www.flightsounds.com/products If you want a helmet with built in headset and mic, It will probably cost more than $200-300. There are cheap helmets from China that you probably can mod in a gaming headset. For example one of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/GLOSS-CHINESE-AIR-FORCE-JET-PILOT-FLIGHT-HELMET-/380678530260?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Helmets&var=&hash=item58a23564d4 Paint it and add a normal 3.5mm headset and you're good to go, without the adapter!
  23. Are you guys also getting severe drop in FPS when exporting the radar? Any solution to that? I have searched for it but I haven't found any answers.
