  1. Did you read the post directly below yours (which would have made it the top post before you posted this) titled almost identically as yours: "unable to install blackshark2" ? Please see: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=111653
  2. The DCS world module itself has been udpated, but none of the aircraft modules have newest updates available for download from the website yet. Bizzare, I know. Read here for workaround: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1839006&postcount=9
  3. Yes, I've seen videos of taking apart the throttle and removing some kind of lug that is responsible for the "bumps". It seems something very simple to do, but I'm hesitant... I seem to be doing alright for now even with the bumps. Also thanks a lot for that video to setup the TrackIR! It's so smooth and much better control now than I've ever had it before! As for question #3... indeed where did it go? haha. Question 3 was: Is there a way to change field of view (FOV)? Currently it doesn't feel right to me. I often see objects on the peripheral of my vision get sort of "stretched out".
  4. Does sound likes issues with the driver or the card itself. 1. Double check drivers. Uninstall and re-install latest ones if you're not lazy. 2. Run a hardware diagnostic program and take a look at your GPU temperature(s). Usually the computer would shut itself off if your video card is overheating, but who knows, maybe it's causing this issue before it gets to the point where the system would shut down. 3. Unplug your computer, open up the case, unseat your card, blow off all the dust, seat it back in, make sure it's sitting nicely and secure. Make sure you put the screws so that it doesn't wobble. Double check power connectors. 4. If all fails, try either beta versions of newest drivers, or perhaps downgrade a few versions until you stop experiencing the issue. If none of that helps... well you could try contacting the manufacturer of the card. Get a friend to lend you their card for some time and see if you have the same issue then. If not, then it could be either problems with your card itself, or compatibility between your card model, drivers, and DCS. Hopefully it doesn't get to that point.
  5. Oh, yes, thank you! That's the one I was looking for :)
  6. Sorry for the necro, but is this more detailed or less than the one found here? http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=57370 I'd like the blue colour of this one, but it looks like the one I linked is more detailed (i.e it's more clear to see?)
  7. Hi there, I just purchased BS2 a few days ago after playing Take on Helicopters for a few weeks and wanted something more realistic. I started with the BigfootMSR training missions, done only the flight ones so far and I gotta say, compared to the autopilot-less helicopters in TOH this bird is a joy to fly. Landing, too. It's rock solid so long as I trim properly and don't turn off the autopilot channels (I did that at first, thinking "pffff who needs this I can handle it! then promptly flipped the bird over 5 meters off the ground :joystick: *) Anyway, I had a few questions and I'm sorry if any of these had already been covered (I only got to page 36, couldn't read the rest). 1. I use TrackIR, and when I move my head it seems like the view starts to slowly auto-center itself, even if I don't move my head. Is there a way to disable this? 2. Where are the "Engine Throttle Levers" in the cockpit? I know I cannot directly control them by clicking on them with the mouse, and have to use PageUP/PageDOWN, but I would like to be able to actually see them so I know what position they are set in. For example PgUP x2 will set it to "auto", but then what position does PageUP x 1 set them to? And if I press the button 3 times, why is there an alarm that starts going off? I'm sure if I could actually see where they are and see what settings I'm changing I'd figure that out... 4. Difference between Barometric and Radar altimeters. In the training mission it says that the radar altimiter is not accurate above 300 meters, so it switches to barometric. But I notice that when it switches, there's a giant leap in altitude it displays. For example as I'm climbing to 300, to goes like.. 270, 280, 290, then when it passes 300 and goes BOOM! 0600+ meters. I'm so confused... where did these extra 300 meters come from? 5. I have a Saitek X52 Pro. What should I be using to control the collective? When I started playing Take on Helicopters I only had a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, and for a $40 stick that wasn't bad. But it had a tiny little flap for throttle (or collective) and that was very insufficient. So I bought the X52 so that I could have a dedicated throttle, but, something I couldn't have anticipated is that this throttle is not smooth... there's some kind of "bumps" in it at the lower end and at the far end, meaning that if I try to apply smooth collective over these "bumps" then I'd have a similar bump in collective input in the game - not good! And even ignoring the bumps, the rest of the throttle seems a bit stiff, even when I turn the resistence knob all the way down. I tried the slider, but it's a little stiff and doesn't give me smooth control either. I've also tried some of the rotating rings on the throttle, but again these are rather stiff and don't give good control. What do you guys use for collective control? Maybe I should just add some grease or something to make these things smoother... Thanks for any help! * Turned out the toe pedals on my rudder were setup to give banking input
  8. Weirdest thing. I've unplugged TrackIR from the USB 3.0 port, and put it into the USB 2.0 port. And now it works in DCS
  9. Hm. Well, I made a post on the naturalpoint forums. Thanks for the help guys :)
  10. So then maybe it's looking for a BlackShark.exe, but I have DCS.exe ?
  11. Oh, I think I know what you mean. I only see Keyboard, Saitek X52 Pro Flight, Saitek Pro Combat Rudders, and Mouse in the Axis Assign. Don't see TrackIR. I've checked, and both TrackIR drivers and games list are up to date. It's weird that, while playing Black Shark if I alt+tab out and open up TrackIR software, it says there title:none, meaning it doesn't seem to recognise that I'm playing Black Shark.
  12. Tried it again just now, after uninstalling both black shark and DCS world and reinstalling them, and it worked this time. Not even sure what the problem was. Does it just take this long for the key to be usable?
  13. Sorry, which axis do?
  14. Doesn't Black Shark 2 have TrackIR support? When I'm playing the game, the trackIR software doesn't seem to recognise that the game is running...
  15. Two days ago I purchased and downloaded Black Shark 2 from digitalcombatsimulator.com, but when I try to activate the serial key in the game I'm told that the key is incorrect. I am copy+pasting the key from the website, so there can be no typo. I've made sure there are no extra spaces either in front of the key or at the back. I've also made sure that I'm copying the actual key, rather than something else like the transaction order number. I've made a support ticket on the website on the same day, but it's been 2 days now without any answer and at this point I'm kind of panicking. I'm posting here to ask if anybody has had a similar issue before, and perhaps there's some common issue with this and it can be fixed, or should I simply wait longer for a reply on my support ticket (how long does it usually take?). Thanks for any advice.
