  2. Relax, guys, about the huey. Wags said all DCS products will be 70% off. So there was some mistake and huey got two discounts instead of one (-10, and -70, for 80 total). So now either someone realized this ir maybe it automatically but it change back to only 1 discount. Unfortunately it took wrong discount, so now just wait a little bit till someone realize this mistake and it will be fixed and you can get huey for 70% off like it was intended. For those that got it for 80% off, well, they got lucky, don't feel envious over 5 bucks...
  3. Try reading through this thread that details how to center the HMS with the hud. I'm guessing you can, using the same method, off-set it so that it appears to be over the right eye. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=107686
  4. Wow, at these prices, I think I'm going to buy ALL the modules today  Already have the Black Shark, though, and not sure what's the point of getting the A-10A when you can have the A-10C.
  5. Right click on DCS:W and click on "show keys" or something similar. All keys from different DLCs will be there.
  6. As far as I know you don't even need to begin download on the game. Once your purchase is done, the game is added to your steam library, from which you can view the CD keys.
  7. Oh, perfect, that explains it now! Thanks a lot :)
  8. Oh, that's you in the video! I watched it before and was thoroughly impressed, had to find my jaw on the floor! Didn't know helicopters were capable of that. I wanted to ask, what area of the map are you flying in? Those city roads look perfect for training for this, and also did you enter all the waypoints on the ABRIS manually or is it from a mission? I tried doing some NOE flying after I watched that and slapped the shark against the ground, who immediately lost her tail like a frightened lizard :megalol: Was surprised I could actually continue flying and managed to land on the belly of the front piece of it that was still intact
  9. I've been playing for a few weeks now, just performing more or less the same routine. I'd do a cold start from parking, taxi to runway, hover check, take off, fly around and then land. During the flying part I'd practice coordinated turns and combat turns (I'm not sure if I'm calling it right, this is the one where you do a 180 degree turn and climb at the same time), as well as the sharp 90 degree turn where you want to make sure you don't lose too much speed in the process (again, don't really know what this maneuver is called). So that above I've been practicing for a while and feel like I'm pretty good at it, or at least much better than I was when I started, since I can't really compare myself to anyone. Now I'm also starting to train weapon deployment on the target practice range, but I feel like there's probably more maneuvers that I should learn before I go into real combat. Unfortunately, I'm having a hard time finding a source for these maneuvers, or tactics I should learn. I guess being military related I shouldn't be surprised it's not as easy as just searching google for it. Maybe somebody here could advise where to go from here?
  10. Actually, I meant "inferior" in the sense of it being an inferior game/module/simulation to the Su-25? Like, less features, poorer flight model, poorer AI, less/worse missions, etc etc?
  11. So the Su-25T isn't "inferior" to the Su-25A, although it's free?
  12. I'm sorry if this is really dumb question, but I cannot find this information anywhere on the website or on the forums. What's the difference between the Su-25T that you get for free with DCS world, and the $15 one that's labelled "Su-25: DCS Flaming Cliffs" ?
  13. This sounds great. I haven't been able to find a server specifically to get new pilots trained up yet
  14. And put one in there facing backwards, too!
  15. Hi PeterP! Do you think you'd have some time to explain/show what's inside the box into which the handle of the collective sticks into? The one that reads the amount you raise/lower the collective and trasnforms that into signals for the computer? I can't wrap my head around what I need to find at the junk-yard/ebay to get that part working.
  16. Could someone assist with the X52 Throttle detent mod? I removed the lug and put the throttle back together (it was pretty hard to put it together, it seemed as if the throttle doesn't really fit well..) but now instead of the two bumps at the bottom and top of the throttle that it had because of the lug, now there is a bump exactly at the center. It's not as bad as the original bumps, but it's still distracting. Anyone run into this issue before?
  17. I've seen some videos and screenshots of people getting out of their aircraft. I'm playing Black Shark 2, but I can't figure out how to do that? Is it only for some modules and not others? I've only seen it with the P-51D and A-10C
  18. Yes, it's giving me a lot of ideas, especially about simply nailing a piece of board to the under-side of the chair so it sticks out in front to play the joystick. Thanks!
  19. For those afraid that this arcade part of War Thunder will suck up any potential flight simmers away from "proper" sim titles like DCS, have no fear! I picked up War Thunder on a whim after seeing a video of it somewhere, and have never played any flight sims before that. Only a few days of playing it and I became so engrossed in flight sims that here I am now, playing DCS Black Shark :)
  20. Then are there any open public servers to join in and just fly around with other people? I've been avoiding multiplayer for the fear of being shamed at how bad I am, hoping to hone some basic flying skills in singleplayer first, but at this point I'm realizing that pointers and tips from other people would actually do me better.
  21. So if the stick is rotated some degrees, how do you compensate the controls? I mean if you now push the stick straight away from your body, you are actually sending signals to the computer to both pitch down and roll at the same time, not only pitch.
  22. Is that metal stand bolted into the floor?
  23. I've been playing DCS: Black Shark 2 for a few weeks and was really struggling to control the beast, until someone mentioned to me that I should be sure that my joystick is physically positioned dead center of my body. So I did that, placed it in the middle of my desk (rather than to the right where I had it before, same area as I had the mouse) and immediately I noticed a huge difference! I can actually perform a hover-check without drifting all over the airfield now! So now I've been thinking of finding a way to place the stick somewhere lower, because as it is right now on my desk, it is at about chest-high. I know the Warthog HOTAS has a thin base that you can place on your seat and actually sit on it, and the shaft is slender that it easy fits between your legs. But I have an X52, so that's not possible with it. I'm just wondering if someone has done this before and what method they have come up with (short of building an actual pit, of course). I'm thinking of looking for a short stand or pedestal to put the stick on, but I doubt I'd find something suitable. Maybe I would have to find a small drawer in the trash somewhere and then saw off one quarter from it and use that.. Any tips?
  24. Speaking of bindings, is there a way to rebind the "Clickable mouse cockpit mode on/off" key to one of the mouse buttons, like mouse4 or mouse5? It's set to LAlt+C by default, but it seems like it's not possible to assign a mouse button to it? It's greyed out in the bindings menu, like this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v376/guitar_xe/mouse_zps98997978.jpg
  25. He's almost constantly pointing his nose down, yet he's able to maintain altitude and most of all, he doesn't seem to increase speed when he does it. How come? He's also able to move sideways without a whole lot of roll. When I try to bank, it takes a long time to start moving sideways, and it also changes the heading of the aircraft. I understand being able to fly like this takes a lot of practice, but I can't understand how to achieve this, when I try it, it's like I'm flying a completely different helicopter.
