  1. Count me in - updated my pledge Love the new options , to show - I updated my original $40 pledge/reward to $100 !!! Bring it on WW2 DCS! As I said, when I heard about B-17, I would double my pledge for it !
  2. Not sure what more people need, there is DCS P51 to go try, if you like that and want more with a map included, then pledge :) This isn't being built from ground up right - so we have a working model. (This is actually closer to understanding what we get than BoS using a RoF WW1 engine)
  3. now now!!! - I welcome the challenge - I'm still voting for it - as without it, it will be a air quake scenario of just dogfighting and jabo missions :)
  4. wow, what a selection... this won't be easy. I do have concerns about B17 lately, as I really want this, but I don't know if I will like it as with DCS this could be complex to use it won't be usable. There is a point it has to be usable without a bazillion switches and super complexity - it's honestly why I don't fly DCS jets :)
  5. Don't expect companies to invest money and not have an ad. It's the way the world is today. If people don't want ads, then pledge up to $100,000 + before the end of the month is my response :)
  6. Can I assume this has already occurred - if not, should it: Why wouldn't DCS goto companies that make money from us flight simmers and entice them ? For example, wouldn't it be appealing for, ie. NaturalPoint - to contribute x amount of money to get their logo on the game start screen - that promotes their TrackIR product ? Or get a Saitek or a Ch Products to get their logo and advertisement ? Seems it would be a win-win for everyone. We are at like $55k right now - I would think enticing these companies as investors to plug the difference would be a simple thing to do. If these flight sims go under and stop growing, then these companies also shrink their market. The more and better flight sims, the greater market for these companies. I sure hope this has been done or is being done. Bit OT, but I do believe some of this kickstarter is a chance for RRG to see if people can put their money where their mouth is though. I would hear all the time while playing IL2:1946, people say 'this game was cheap for all the hours I've put into it - I'd give hundred dollars for updates' - well, here is that chance! It's being built by the people for the people - that is the message - here is a chance that doesn't come around very often.
  7. after you spend your $40 you mean :)
  8. Me me me - I love flying bombers - would LOVE to see a B17 I will (am going to) double down my pledge for a flyable B17 surely!!!! A game without flyable bombers is dead to me.
  9. Thank you sir for your help Considering I don't know how to get a key from Steam, I will go forward with using Steam ( I have most other games on steam so no worries on that) S!
  10. I'm completely confused - and as a pledge to DCS WW2 I hope this process is clearer after you experts respond: 1. I've never played any DCS World - I owned disks of Lomac and Flaming Cliffs (1) ? 2. I was just going to get the P51D as part of WW2 announcement and saw the 70% off via steam I purchased this p51D from Steam. However a few days prior I downloaded and installed DCS World directly. So now what ???? Do I Uninstall DCS World and get it from Steam instead ? I don't mind, but why is there two ways - is there some reason I shouldn't do this ? And if I don't - how do I ever get the p51D into my DCS World ??? I see a greyed out DCS in my steam list, and I see 'view downloadable content' and my p51 is in there. Now what ?
  11. Just curious, I'm new to DCS. I pledged $40 (and considering more at end of month) toward this new game in order to get the content. I don't currently own the p51, but I'm interested in getting it. Do I just wait a month to see if this goes through, and will have access to it right away - or will I have to buy it directly ? I'm itching to start practicing the p51 now, knowing this sim is going to grow :)
  12. Thanks, and forgive me as I watched the video (at work lol) and didn't read the entire page - much of my questions are already answered as you say. This is fantastic and will definitely get my support - I'm very excited!
  13. "The project is very, very early. Normally we would not show it to the public at this stage. We could wait six months and go kickstarter then – but then we’d lose the stretch goal option. If we don’t start on, say, a flyable B-17 today, if we wait six months to begin, then we delay its release by six months as well." Just for clarity. Since you are using the DCS 'engine' I assume - at this point you are adding 'content' but not needing to build an engine from scratch. Is that a correct statement? Basically, I could say you are doing what 777 is doing with Battle of Stalingrad based off Rise of Flight. Is that correct? For example, you need this kickstarter in order to produce things such as : 1. a map 2. you mention bomber, so a bomber. Then also the code to 'level bomb' 3. models and FM for, ie. the 190 4. ground units Assuming this is true, unlike Cliffs of Dover, you don't need to recreate everything all over again, and because of that you will be able to deliver a product quicker ? Referring back to your quote, the project is very very early, but not as early as it would be if you had to write from scratch ? Can I assume that you will not have to write a new world engine, you would not need to recreate the p51 ? Will the current p51 be included ? Will the other planes take on the same detail as the p51 ? If true, does this need to be all done at once, like, why wouldn't you incrementally build and release it? ie. let's say you next make the Dora flyable. That couldn't be added in ? Then you make a new map, release it, make a B17, release it, etc... I ask this because I'm curious - assuming you get your budget you need, is this a year long estimation, a 3 year long estimation ? Because you don't have to write it from scratch. Today, software is built and released incrementally - and DCS already has a model to accept payments from ie. the p51, so why not continue to incrementally build out this WW2 engine - this way, each release also helps fund continual development (ie. the money from a flyable 190 would go a long way possibly toward the next item). Just questions. Thanks for you time, and I wish everyone success on this endeavor.
