  1. seems like that would be rather expense since you pay for bandwidth ? - would have to agree that Torrent is optimal for big releases!
  2. wow, that is awesome - you guys rock!!!
  3. couple of hours.... I'm starting to feel sick... might need to work at home...
  4. Good morning east coast... F5 starts again... :)
  5. Let those devs sleep and knock it tomorrow
  6. B17 would be a game in and of itself in DCS terms...
  7. Exactly - it should be that way but it's not - I think DCS damage model is way behind, i.e. Cliffs of Dover - and really hope it improves and is of higher priority
  8. So DCS 2 will be great visually, but WW2 pilots probably aren't going to find it very interesting to be flying WW2 planes over 'Nevada'. Hoping that the very next release in this game is a WW2 based map and WW2 objects (correct AAA, vehicles, etc...)
  9. from my understanding, unlike Cliffs of Dover - which has a very good damage model - that DCS doesn't have a very good damage model. It lacks taking out controls and relies on a point system. This is one area that DCS really needs to update. The only issue is that although they make these WW2 planes, they really lack in WW2 content - which is probably why DCS isn't as popular as it could be.
  10. Purchase completed... check Hope this continues to support DCS to make it an even better sim... also hoping this leads to the eventual Normandy map :) Now... can't wait for DCS 1.5/2.0
  11. Just watched some of this - looks like he uses the gunsight very well but I'm not sure how he gets this fixed so well
  12. I've been told control bindings can get messed up with patches, etc... and I've been wanting to try out the DCS beta but I want to make sure my bindings don't get messed up. What is the correct and best practice for backing up control settings to make sure they don't get lost/overwritten - including when new patches come out. Additionally, what is best way to install the beta and switch back and forth without worry of losing bindings ? Thanks in advance !!!
  13. I think it's a bug, I've had better success uncaging the sight and firing just slightly above the target. The caging sight is not setup well right now - hoping this is improved in future patches
  14. I've noticed quite a bit of inconsistency and had some questions on the missiles. Online, I was able to get a lock - fire away and get a kill - was very pleased. To practice this more I went offline and setup a 1v1 scenario with a Mig. I was nearly dead six of a Mig and fire the missile and it always misses. Is there such a thing as being 'too close' ? I realize ground and sun effect the missile, but I don't believe either was in play. If anyone here has some good pointers to using the missiles more consistency let me know! Thanks in advance - love the Sabre!
  15. I'm waiting for the LOD's to be fixed, you can tell the engine wasn't made for WW2, you can't see aircraft!
  16. everyone waits for sales to buy modules... probably means the 'regular' prices are too high :) I know I'm waiting for Sabre!
  17. I had a 'pick 4' - and already own the P51, so I choose: 190 109 Spit P47
  18. Still hasn't been updated... perhaps someone that works at Eagle might realize they are missing out on potential sales here... ?
  19. I keep waiting and steam pricing is still old - how long does it typically take ???
  20. I'm not going to belabor the point any further...(and not hunt down 27+ pages of responses)... the whole debacle is confusing. I won't be back to read the response - but a simple choice in which aircraft you get for $85 seems rather reasonable to me. If $85 gets me 3 AC, fine. Just let me pick what 3 please. Thanks
  21. Ok, so if I bought FC3 directly, I'd have to install DCS World standalone to use it ? But since I already bought the p51 through Stream, to use the p51, I'd have to run it through DCS World steam. I wonder how the p51 I bought through WW2 backer will work then ? Like maybe it would be best to switch to non-steam ? Still a bit confused - but thanks for your response!!!
  22. I see over 125 views but no posts. I'm new, so help me out - I bought the p51 - I believe though steam. I also put up $85 for WW2, where I get a p51, etc... Now I'm not sure I made a wise move to use Steam. I just thought it would be easier to not worry about managing keys, etc... Now I see a special but not reflected in Steam. Should I just go directly to Eagle Dynamics and purchase the FC3 ??? The model is very confusing, and I see no explanation around here about how this works, what path someone should take, etc.... Thanks!
  23. Confused on July Update Maybe I misunderstood the original backer, when I put up $85... I see in this update this is what I get now: $80-$99 Silver Backer credit in manuals DCS: P-51D Mustang and print-ready PDF manual Normandy Map DCS: Fw 190 D-9 Dora, Alpha access, and print-ready PDF manual DCS: Bf-109K, Alpha access, and print-ready PDF manual DCS: Spitfire, Alpha access, and print-ready PDF manual But the plane I most wanted was the p47 Thunderbolt... ??? So basically I lose the p47, which is the one I mostly wanted and get 2 planes I might not fly ? Maybe I am misreading ?
  24. the announcement http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=126586 It's not showing up on Steam (still shows $49 for FC3) Just delayed getting updated ?
  25. Not really interested, I'm just excited to know this game might someday exist. I'd prefer to have this Normandy map done after 190's - so we have p51 and 190's - and a great map to fly on. Then add the new aircraft. All this is far more important than t-shirts and posters :)
