no skins, nothing open, brand new 1.5 map.

Ok, i uploaded the log and the saved .miz file that is screwed up. I didnt have it open in anything other than DCS and only had the beta open as well. The map was new for 1.5 despite the 1.2.8B name i just clicked an old name to save time with naming. 1.2.8B 223rd Training Map G04.miz

After I "Save" if you re click on an aircraft, waypoint, unit etc the "Name, Pilot, and Waypnt Name" are erased and replaces with DictKey_UnitName_748, DictKey_GroupName_747. i have found that if i save As and create new it somewhat works but must shut down DCS altogether and reopen to start from a fresh save as.

Is it possible to have the mission editor set up to where two or more people can edit the same map simultaneously? It would be easier to teach people how to use and set up more complex maps while saving time. just a thought.

i noticed this while messing around. THe clouds look great from a distance but when you get closer the edges glow white.

First Congrats not everyone is qualified and not everyone that is qualified gets accepted. Second Figure out what you want to do in the AF BEFORE you start school, this will help you out in the long run. Finally if you want to be a pilot you are on the right path, the academy is the best place for a pilot slot, they have far more than any of the other options (OTS, ROTC, etc). Work hard, don't let anybody or anything get in your way.

That same shit happened to me two days ago. saved as then regular saves for 8 hours of editing/ adding stuff. Go to test it and nothing everything was erased. Checked the saved file and it was there go to open it and nothing nothing on the map like i never touched it. still pissed off about it.

The 120 is so bad right now it is a crap shoot to hit an SU25 flying straight and level at 5k. sorry missiles don't generally go up to come straight down. This needs to be fixed. Also i have heard rumblings of a dev giving ED a more realistic coding for the 120 and it being shelved because it would upset the DCS balance. dont know how much truth there is but could def see it happening. I would guess a missile like the 27ER and ET would be fairly easy to model since one is thermal tracking and the other relies solely on the AC radar while the 120 is semi active and has more variables but damn at least get it somewhat believable. Yes I understand other sims have been over realistic but meh for a sim that strives on it it being realistic i would have to give the FC series are resounding F. hell i may be done with DCS and go play some BMS for a better A2A fight.

Is it just me or are the 120's completely nerfed? Correct me if i am wrong but if you fire a 120 from 15nm at say a 27 with both altitudes being equal once it goes pit bull it should be game over. I can understand notching an AIM 7 but if you have no idea a 120 is inbound until the last 6 sec, your not out running/turning that missile. At any rate it seems DCS has set the F-15 at a huge disadvantage when compared to the 27, 33, or even the 29. While the 15 AFM is nice it really sucks in ACM against the russian birds that are not. sorry i am venting but man is it frustrating knowing that a superior Missile (120) has an ~ 60% fail rate where russian birds are able to dodge a pitbulled 120 while maintaining a solid lock guiding their ER straight into the cockpit.

I use 30-35 and never miss sooooo your point is kinda pointless. The only time i have ever had an issue with LGB's missing is on shots below 5,000 ft or if you short the lase time and the bomb doesn't have enough time/energy to correct course when the laser does start firing. even in those scenarios missing is rare. Most cases the target moves or you just flat out missed with the TGP. money would say misses are 99% pilot error.

boarder2, ok so the product has been GREAT, until my sqdrn decided to get TARS. It seems the VC server will not allow TARS through and if i wanted to continue flying with my squad i had to uninstall VC which SUCKS as i am sure you could understand. Is there any way you can look into this and/or recommend something that doesnt involve choosing one or the other? Thanks

IP address and everything is same old. if there is a service for the server i cannot see it. EDIT: ok so i uninstalled/reinstalled etc per the FAQ and restarted as appropriate and nothing worked. No kidding was really pissed. I tried to click on the red dot in the program to use bonjour however that didnt work, it also said to manually enter the IP and port but that isnt an option. So after being really annoyed i said F it maybe there is an IOS update screwing with it. SO sure as poop IOS7.0.3 or whatever is waiting. I update it and bam instant connection. So problem solved. I tunes was updated sometime yesterday and i figure there is some sort of connection with bonjour somehow that was preventing the server to talk with the ipad. Anyways that was my fix incase anybody else develops a random lost connection.

So i have question/ problem. Today at say 1600 i had no problems i come back at 1900 and can no longer connect to the server. Nothing was changed in that time except maybe an automatic itunes update but cant be sure. It seems like the server isnt connecting to my network. Any thoughts?

get your self a used alienware M17Xr2 or newer and get exactly what your looking for. my old R2 was an i5 with a 5870 and ran DCS, SC2, WoW, and a few other games with max settings and no problems. i sold mine for 800 and upgraded to my desktop and an ipad though. and the dell outlet is a great place to find the occasional steal.
