  1. - Jug is versatile. Can do both ground attack and air combat. - Stable weapons platform. Guns, rockets and bombs, can do it all. - It has lots of guns and tons of ammo. Forgiving for "bullet-hose" type players. - Good high altitude performance, good range. Can escort B-17s. - Accelerates well in a dive. Gives you options to retreat. - Airframe and engine can take a beating. - Good visibility with the teardrop-canopy. - Wide undercarriage. Forgiving for learning how to properly land an aircraft. I am sure there is more, but the poll kind of speaks for itself - go jug!
  2. Could not be more obvious whats missing here. I sincerely hope that Ilya recruits a PR/community-manager guy in the near future..
  3. They should have mentioned right up top that the base game with three planes will be free to play, with additional planes as "modules" that can be baught and plugged into the F2P-base-game. Needs not more cowbell, but smarter PR, really.
  4. To be completely honest, I do not even want three free planes with the base game. Call me crazy, but here is why: - my flying is crap, and Im not going to change that if I try to suddenly learn three planes at once. I dont have the spare time. - before I become an owner of stuff I like to do some research on it, taking my sweet time deciding. - which leads to general satisfaction with what I decide finally. I dont want a hangar full of planes that I will only fly a couple of times. My two cents. Now sitting back in my comfy chair watching how it all turns out over the next few days! :book:
  5. Now, I dont wanna be all negative and this is just my opinion. But I think that "this cow is milked", referring to the Kickstarter. There is only so much community. Of which XY% still might not be aware of this. Some of those that are aware, might still be on the fence. The project is in such early shape that there isnt much more stuff to show to make people pledge. And those that did in fact pledge, might not be able to afford upping their pledge any further. The far stretch goals were always an illusion (or just very optimistic). Again, just my opinion, dont hate! ;) http://www.kicktraq.com/projects/508681281/dcs-wwii-europe-1944/ Day 1 trend was towards 550k, been dropping ever since. Day 5 it was trending towards 350k, today its just below 150k. Then again, we did reach the initial goal, so all is good. People are passionate and excited about DCS WWII, I think we are doing well :)
  6. Oh, I would absolutely throw my money at RRG if they made a DCS quality P-40 or F4F-3!
  7. That would not be a challenge, but who said war had anything to do with fairness? :D Firstly I will need to learn how to fly my plane of choice anyways..
  8. This is going to be a Simulation. Wikipedia says: "Simulation is the imitation of the operation of a real-world process or system" balance =/= realism, therefore I suspect the 262 is going to be the fearsome and revolutionary plane that it really was. Plus, challenges make you feel AWESOME when you overcome them! :joystick:
  9. I know. My opinion remains the same. Rarorback>Teardrop. I guess you are right on that one..
  10. Can we have the Razorback please? I find it just has way more character and grittyness than the bubble canopy version. Its big, its ugly and thats its charm!
  11. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=113838 Was hoping for a map extension at 150-200k rather than a flyable 262, but at least they did something and lowered some of the stretch goals.. :noexpression:
  12. The German army flooded fields to drown paratroopers and slow allied movements, this worked well. Will we see that in the game? I consider it the second most important inland-terrain-aspect, besides the hedgerows!
  13. "We are also adding DCS World licenses to kickstarter rewards." Those DCS World "licences" are the P-51 and Dora modules which are going to be cross-compatible. World and WWII. "You will receive the P-51D and the FW.190D with DCS WWII;" Meaning, the P-51 and Dora will be part of DCS WWII once its released. "but if you select the appropriate reward, you will also receive those licenses for DCS World." If you select the appropriate reward, you get the P-51 and/or Dora modules for DCS World, which can then be plugged into DCS WWII once its released. "The P-51D license will be issued after the kickstarter project successfully funds." If you selected this reward, you will get the DCS: World P-51 module right after kickstarter is successful, and can plug it into DCS WWII once its released. "The Dora license will give the backers the option to beta test the aircraft once it enters closed beta some time this winter." If you selected this reward, you can beta test the DCS: World Dora once it enters beta this winter, and you will recieve it right after its DCS: World release, and can then be plugged into DCS WWII once its released.
  14. Its actually in the kickstarter description. "The DCS WWII series will start with Europe 1944 and, given enough interest, continue to grow to cover more theaters, more aircraft, and more content. Moreover, its modules will plug into DCS World modules and vice versa, so you’ll be able to fly a 1940s Messerschmitt against a modern Su-25, if you so choose." Its all going to be based on Modules. Each plane is a Module which can be plugged into either DCS:World or DCS:WWII, just like the already existing P-51 (from DCS:World) can be plugged into DCS:WWII on release.
  15. We have 19 days left, its most likely going to be successful. But I cant see it reaching any of the stretch goals if they stay the same as they are now! http://www.kicktraq.com/projects/508681281/dcs-wwii-europe-1944/#chart-exp-projection Its trending towards ~200k, which is 175k short of the first stretch goal. I feel like something needs to change - more advertising to actually reach 375k or introducing a smaller stretch goal between 100k and 375! Lets hope luthier reads this thread, and feels the same way! :)
  16. Oh boy, flying bomber formations like that over Normandy in a DCS quality B-17 would be a dream come true! :pilotfly:
  17. Hi there, Does anyone else think that adding a simple, but nice to have "baby-step" stretch goal at lets say 200,000$ would be a good idea? Share your thoughts! My idea: Take the "Normandy map extended to include Southern England" part from the 375k goal and lower it to 200k. That way, if it gets reached, but doesnt quite make it up to 375k, we already have the bigger map to fly big bombers on, which can be added at a later point in time after the initial release.
  18. Pretty shure this is gonna make it over the 100k line, lets just hope they make good use of the additional bucks earned between initial and strech, because I seriously doubt this will reach 375k. That said it there was a goal lets say at 200k, I would probably up my 100$ pledge..
  19. It does. You get closed beta access by pledging 10$ or more. Alpha access by pledging 50$ or more.
  20. Sweetness! I upped my pledge, will get a P-51 as soon as kickstarter is successful and the FW190 as soon as that comes to DCS World. Leaves plenty of time for me to crash and burn (and hopefully learn) before WWII arrives!
  21. Reggiane Re.2005 "Sagittario" Would be sweet if we could fly that beauty in DCS WWII one day. Voted for the B-17, because a pure dogfighting simulation does not appeal to everyone.
