  1. F4U would be great.. against the P51D  ..and Football war is perfect little theater for them :)
  2. LJ, I have programmable mouse buttons so I assigned keyboard key to middle mouse button and using it to switch between view and cursor.
  3. Devrim, just left click on the stick
  4. yes there is :) but only C101 has this neat feature
  5. xaoslaad and Ells228, BIG THUMBS UP for you guys
  6. "ride along" works in MP, pilot in front and a 'sandbag' in rear :)
  7. I second that, what a neat feature with that hiding stick, wasnt aware!
  8. there is one DCS rule "I will be proficient right with the next released module" ..so Mirage 2000 definitely :D
  9. Lets also differentiate the G limits for different pilots, like in WT :smartass:
  10. I am also waiting for EDGE... my installation got screwed after past update and with 1.5 update behind the corner I am hopping it will solve my problem with loading screen over MP map :D
  11. Tek, I am experiencing the same issue as you described in point 1)
  12. Great to hear from you T. Jacob. I was expecting bad news but anyway thanks a lot. It seems to be inevitable to go with the mouse buttons. I have joy really long time but I am comfortable with my left hand on the mouse. Still wondering how it is possible that quite all other flight sims can map throttle to mouse wheel but DCS not.. weird.
  13. imho full scale home cockpit is more important for FC3 planes, as I can not just click what I want with the mouse ingame. So I need HOTAS and all the 'switchboxes' around to do the simple 'one click' work ;)
  14. back to 'Thrust control with mouse wheel' actually with this in mouse / default.lua.. ..I realized that there is possibility to assign MOUSE_Z to Thrust in axis controls ingame now (the void field become available). Anyway with this mapping done rolling the mouse wheel make the throttle just to jump from 0 to 50% or from 100 to 50%. And then only some micro movement around the 50%. No full and smooth movement of the throttle. Does anyone know what is missing in that script?
  15. you guys have great memory I assume ;) without clickable cockpit I will need to re-learn all the mappings with each game start :) what I would like to see, is the balance - always release DCS level with FC3 level airplane - so everyone can buy what one prefers. E.g. I still dont understand why there is no FC3 MiG21bis etc.
  16. great post T. Jacob but I have some additional questions. I was trying yesterday to make mouse wheel act like a thrust, but no luck. this is the default.lua in DCS World \ Mods \ aircraft \ F86F \ Input \ F86F \ mouse (hopefully I remember it correctly with the '_(' infront and ')' inbehind names and categories) I updated the MOUSE_Z to following but this have no effect. Am I missing something? Anyway I am wondering what effect should it have because it is like default settings and even when there is Camera Zoom View it has no effect while I have it unmapped ingame.
  17. PiedDroid not actually two keyboards but I have two mices in DCS :) this is just coming out of my head right now (as I normally fly the P51 which is not so key hungry) As Sokol1 mentioned, you can have more then one keyboard connected at the same time. It has its shortcomings (like obvious duplication) but they are out-weighted by the price. Note: it assumes that you like the HOFFTAS setup - Hands Off Throttle and Stick and there is lot of space on your table/vcockpit ;) Think about this layout: keyboard 1 - the one in front of you which is comfortable for you to write on keyboard 2 - on your left next to your throttle keyboard 3 - on your right next to your joy Standard kb has around 80 keys!? So 55 unique on your left kb, 25 unique on your right kb. You just need to label the keys you will be using and remove the unused keys, cover the blank spaces. This way you can have two unique side button panels. With cheap kb you can have such special panels for each plane ;) just plug 'n play And there is lot of options - standard kb, kb with detachable numpad, kb without numpad, solo numpad, special kb with additional programmable buttons, etc. ..just dont exceed the max number of USB devices connected. Max is 7??
  18. in case there is enough keys on the keyboard (no need for modifiers) one can create his own cheap 'button boxes' from cheap keyboards ;) Source: Roger Dodger Aviation
  19. I hopefully understand your struggle Sokol1. I didnt start the MiG yet but from time to time I face this challenge of realistically mapping buttons also in other planes/sims. Mostly in WWII planes there is no HOTAS ;) Does Xpadder work with programmable mouse/gamepad buttons? So instead of non-recognized keyboard you can use mouse/gamepad buttons to operate the switch. You will have to move your hand away from joy but dont need to point the cursor first to do the action. Like this one for example, 17 programmable button mouse / 16 (programmable?) buttons gamepad: A4tech Bloody Commader Laser Core 2 Gamebird JPD-FFB-A
  20. 'We seldom loaded our Tomcats with six AIM-54s. I saw F-14s armed that way only twice in my career, and that was before the war with Iraq. In May 1978, I flew a Tomcat armed with six AIM-54s, and I was surprised to see just how much of an impact these large and heavy missiles had on the speed, range and maneuverability of the jet as result of their weight and drag. An F-14 loaded with six AIM-54s could not dofgiht, and its landing speed was much higher - closer to 290 kmh (normally 230kmh or 144mph), which posed a danger to both the aircraft and its crew.' 21. I started to use webcam with FaceTrackNoIR sw for moving my virtual head to the sides, up/down and fwd/aft. works great. yes, the toggable stick would be great ;)
