The Gun Heater Switch has a graphical/position bug. The mouse moves the two position switch from 'Off' to 'Gun Heater', But then returns it to a new extreme down position instead of off. The original 'Off' can then no longer be selected.

Glad to hear you got it sorted

Everything listed under 'Adjust Controls' is just white text for me. You could try left clicking on one of the bindings you have in red (so it's highlighted), then click on the 'Clear' button to remove it. Having removed the binding, double left click on the now empty space to bring up the 'Add assignment panel' and re-enter the key combination, then click Ok. Is it still listed in red? Nothing will be saved until you click 'Ok' at the bottom, so just click 'Cancel' if you want to leave the 'Adjust Controls' page without saving any changes.

Where are you seeing them displayed in red? I just checked and the control bindings you list work fine for me, in both the 1.5.2. Beta and the 2.0 Alpha.

Moding question - A/c Labels?
AH_Sid replied to AH_Sid's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I take it this isn't possible then. -
That sounds a complicated way of doing it zacklaws, why not just read the real manual? F-86F Flight Manual Personally I would much prefer to read the same manual that the actual pilots would have read when the aircraft was in service anyway, and it's already written in American English, so no translations errors! IMHO, Belsimtek have an excellent reputation for striving to get our simulated aircraft exactly the same as the real aircraft, if you find anything in the real manual that's not the same in the our simulated aircraft (remember we have the F-86F-35 version specifically), then note in the Bugs and Problems section.

Looks like it's specifically when you link to a pdf file, the forum is trying to display the whole pdf file itself, not just the url link.

Whenever I post a link as per the http://forums.eagle.ru/misc.php?do=bbcode instructions, it comes up as a white box instead of a link, e.g. ED Forums Edited: strangley it works ok here, but not in the DCS: F-86F Sabre section, See this post as an example http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2622760&postcount=7

I've worked out how to alter the A/c Labels so they're more to my liking by moding the \Config\View\Labels.lua file. I can alter what text is displayed and the colour, but I can't find away to change the text size. Any of you experienced moders know if this is possible?

Some instruments are missing the backlighting. The 'vernier drum' on the airspeed indicator and 'subscale' on the altimeter are missing their backlighting. The tube of the slip indicator would also have been illuminated.

[REPORTED] Missing animation for "Set Clock Knob"
AH_Sid replied to Sauerkraut's topic in Bugs and Problems
I tried it in both 1.5.2.48726.137 and 2.0.0.48763.61 and it's working ok for me, except as derelor says, the "Set Clock Knob" is missing its animation. The clock defaults to 'mission time', but after pulling the knob (RShift+T), I can set the clock (RShift+9/0) to whatever time I like. The mouse is less intuitive but still works, you have to right click on the adjuster knob (larger lower left knob), then use the mouse wheel to change the time. -
VAICOM 2.0 is great, but it's not suitable for everyone all the time. There are many occasions where I might be 'flying' late at night, talking clearly and loudly to my computer, won't make me very popular with the rest of the household! You also need a quiet environment to use it, too much background noise just leaves windows struggling to understand what you've said. As a Rift user, I agree with the OP entirely, a way of working the Radio Menu without touching the keyboard is greatly missing form DCS. In Elite Dangerous I can zip around many displays and menus, just using a four way Hi-hat and a select button, it works perfectly even with the Rift. All that's need here in DCS, is a cursor up and cursor down binding. Instead of the Radio Menu looking like this It would have the current selection Hi-lighted (Note: White on Black is much easier to read in the Rift, than white on blue-sky or even white on cloud). Keying the Microphone button would bring up the menu with 'F12. Exit' pre selected Keying the Microphone button again would select the option (so with 'F12. Exit' still selected, the microphone button would just close the menu again). As I say, only two new bindings are required, one to move the cursor up, and one to move the cursor down (the option to use the 'F' keys is still there if you prefer). When you have the option you want selected, just select it with the Microphone button. Simple, quick, quiet, and usable by both Monitor and Rift players alike without ever having to touch the keyboard!

VAICOM 2.0 for VoiceAttack
AH_Sid replied to Hollywood_315's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Many thanks Hollywood_315 for this wonderful addition to DCS, as a Rift user I hated the F key coms system. I've got it all working with 'Easy Communication' selected On, but I can't get it to work with it selected Off (I've only tried the F86F profile). I'm using a British keyboard I've set those two lines to be the '#~' key, the same as my 'Communication menu' keyboard key in the game. But what about my 'Microphone Button' key, in game it's set to 'RAlt + #~', do I need to set this somewhere in the voice attack profile? -
Now we have airfields with multiple runways and directions, it's difficult to get ATC to clear the client to the runway I wish them to use in a mission. Just a thought, but could we make this selectable in the mission editor? Each airfield having a property box where the runway in use for takeoff and landing (not necessarily the same one) is nominated (let the mission builder worry about the suitability with the wind). Something like this possibly.

OK, Thanks.

The "Speed Brake Emergency Lever" is missing from the key bindings.
-
I would have to disagree with that. It quite clearly states "The maximum airspeed for canopy opening is 215 knots IAS." That's a great shame to have such a blanket limitation like this, maybe that's something we need to get them to look at.
-
Perhaps it also worth noting the difference between Warnings, Cautions, and Notes, as defined in the manual.
-
Great News I look forward to testing it in the next public build. Many thanks to you and the team at Belsimtek for continuing to sort all these little issues.

I found a nice graphic which perhaps sums it better than I managed to in words. :smilewink:

Here's what I could find for you: From the 'F-86F Flight Manual' click for larger versions From the 'F-86F Maintenance Handbook' click for larger versions From the 'F-86F Illustrated Parts Breakdown' click for larger versions Could it be that it's just been mislabelled in the sim and it should say "BRIGHT" instead of "MODE 1"? The only pics I can find aren't very clear, But even in these unreadable pics, you can still tell the circuit breakers weren't labelled "F1", "F2", and "F3". It looks like we would have to get the camera fitted as a load out option as well.

I've been running a few test comparing the 'cockpit pressure schedule' against what we have simulated for our F86F-35, it looks like there's a bug here. For reference here's the relevant pages from the F-86F Flight Manual. click for larger versions I ran a some of test at Batumi (Altitude 37 Feet, Standard Temperature +15°c, Standard Pressure 29.92), using V1.5.2.48162.126 of DCS. With each test I trimmed the aircraft out to climb at full (100%) power, pressurization set to 'Press', and took a screen shot of the instruments as each 1000' point was passed. I did this first using the using the 2.75 psi schedule, then with the 5.0 psi schedule. I then plotted the results using the screen shots on to the Cockpit pressure schedule graph from the manual. With both the 2.75 psi schedule, and the 5.0 psi schedule, they follow the manuals graph fairly well until around 29000 to 30000 feet, then it's as if a seal fails and the cabin will jump massively instantly. 2.75 psi cockpit pressure schedule As you can see all starts out well, the cabin climbs to 12,500' and maintains this as per the manual. At 21,000' a/c altitude, the cabin altitude starts to maintain the 2.75 psi pressure differential and slowly climb with aircraft to maintain the differential. It should do this all the way to maximum a/c altitude. As we get higher though and the outside pressure goes down, and the pressure difference between each 1000' of altitude decreases as well, meaning the cabin altitude should slowly curve away from the actual a/c altitude, while maintaining the 2.75 psi pressure differential. But what I'm seeing in game, is the a/c gets to around 29,000' to 30,000' (the exact altitude varies each time I test it, but always around that range), and then something 'pops' and the cabin altitude suddenly jumps to 2,000' below the a/c altitude, then maintains this 2,000' altitude difference until the top of climb. 5.0 psi cockpit pressure schedule The results using the 5.0 psi schedule are very similar, the graph from the manual (it's a that very pale line), is followed correctly until around 30,000'. Then incorrectly climbs rapidly to maintain an incorrect 2,000' difference in cabin/aircraft attitude. Again we should get a curved line as 5.0 psi pressure differential is maintained, giving a cabin altitude of around 22,000' at an a/c altitude of 50,000'. Instead we are seeing the cabin altitude reach 48,000' here.
