  1. Ain't nobody got time for that!
  2. I think it is going to be interesting to see how having DCS:W and DCS:WWII separate will play out in multiplayer. It doesn't make much sense to me to fly any of the WWII planes in DCS:W once DCS:WWII is released, but I wonder what effect it will have on server numbers. I would almost prefer that you can only fly the WWII aircraft in DCS WWII just so there isn't a split in the server. Especially with options like CoD and BoS I would hate to see DCS:W and DCS:WWII competing for numbers as well. I almost see a better approach being that DCS:WWII as just a WWII era map that is loaded to DCS:W (much like Vegas), that way all servers show up on the same list. Maybe this is the plan but I think making them completely separate like different incompatible versions of each other is a mistake.
  3. I think it makes sense if you don't think about... Actually, where I think it gets confusing is for the backers at the $1 to under $40 level who have less then six flyables. For example, if you pledged $1 you get three flyables. And based off the new backer site you can choose any three of the six. But if one is given away free of charge then technically a $1 backer would get four flyables if they choose their three wisely. Not sure if this is how it will work. I think those at the $1 should really only have two choices and one given for the whole system to make sense to me.
  4. You were able to solve all the issues I was having. Keep the momentum going, I'm excited to see where this going.
  5. did you try to PM const he is the admin, literally got me access in less than two minutes of PM'ing him.
  6. Put me in coach I'm ready! Just glad to finally be in here!
  7. Const is the man on duty! He fixed me up, I don't need you guys now! :megalol:
  8. I hope they fix my account soon.
  9. That is interesting? Did they say what they change your DCS Website account email to? I think that one is an easy fix, just update your DCS Website account email to match it. I thought I read on here that someone had done that already and it worked. Of course that just might mess things up further.
  10. I got another email from luther this morning. It sounds like he is working hard on getting this sorted out. I'll post his email because I think it might help other out. So I have updated my forum email to match my kickstart email and my ED website account. I notified Luther that this is done and now I will just sit tight and let him do his thing.
  11. I did this but am still unable to access the backer forums.
  12. yeah that confused me too. You can probably just leave your account as is and just email them like it says and it will work it self out. I decided to change my email on my forum account to match my backer and ED account but I used the email my forum account use to be registered to, to explain all this and ask for access to the closed forum. I'll just sit tight for now and see what happens.
  13. My account on ED's Website was linked to my backer information but unfortunately I used a different email for this forum account. I changed my forum account email to the right one, followed the activation link from my confirmation email but I am still unable to access the closed backer forum. I also sent an email as directed in the update explaining what I have done so hopefully it will be sorted out in no time.
  14. It's funny I didn't think I saw anything here that was self righteous until I read that... We're not asking for the moon here. It's been stated in this thread, no one is complaining about his updates. Luther began his updates saying he would do two a week. Well I would challenge you to find anyone really who is disappointed that he never delivered on that promise. What I am dissappointed about most is the 180 degrees of communication that happened somewhere right after the kickstarter ended. Our group has legitimate concerns/questions that have yet to be acknowledged. Ok, so maybe he can't get everyone their promised P-51 key, but merely blowing it off without a simple explanation? That is blatant disrespect to the customer. I still have all the hope in the world that this project is a success but at this stage there is a serious lack of class that has been displayed which I fear will have a ripple effect on any new endeavors.
  15. Cockpit recording would be pretty cool to listen to. I got a response from one of my email inquiries. He also supplied me with a table of all 312 missions of the 312 FG. My grandfather was part of the 450th BG, 47th Wing, 720th Squadron. They have a pretty awesome website that includes a lot of information, including my grandfathers escape statement from when he bailed out over Yugoslavia and was smuggled back to base by Tito's partisans. I can cross reference the table Dan gave me with my grandfather's bomber group missions and probably narrow down the date the picture was taken but it looks like beyond that it will be difficult to know much more. I'm going to have to pick me up a copy of that book though. It would be nice to see the picture that Dan said is on page 100.
  16. LoL on that video! I can only imagine what my grandfather meant when he said they were entertaining to listen to. I just know he thought very highly of them. Thanks for all the links and info. I emailed a few places, hopefully I will get a response. I'll be sure to update here if I do.
  17. I thought they were but please let me know why you think otherwise. Any ideas what squadron it does belong to? This is another image I found that I think looks like it has a similar paint scheme but I could be wrong. Edit: I chose this image because I think they have the same nose stripe where it come to a point below the exhaust.
  18. I have this old photo of a P-51D that my Grandfather brought back with him from WWII. I am assuming he took it from the side gunner position of a B-24 he was flying in. I always wanted to know more about this plane. I realize this is a bad picture but I might be able to get a better scan of the original I just need to teach my grandmother how to use her scanner over a long distant phone call (easier said then done). From what I can tell, it looks like this is a Tuskegee squadron mustang. I remember my grandfather telling me how entertaining the Tuskegee airman's radio chatter was. I guess everyone he heard was a real character. But if anyone can find any information on the pilot or anything really it would be much a appreciated. My goal would be to make a skin of this plane eventually but I think I need a little better picture of the nose art. I know the original is a little clearer so hopefully I can get.
  19. yeah, I have more on an old hard drive. My grandma still has all the originals. I remember when I was pretty young going through his box of stuff with him and looking at these pictures, definitely has had a big influence on me.
  20. I think it would be pretty great if they ever make a flyable B-24. The B-17 gets most of the attention when it comes to American WWII Heavy Bombers. Of course, my opinion is bias since my grandfather flew in B-24's during WWII. I think some other B-24 fan might appreciate this so here is a link to a slide show of a bunch of pictures he brought back with him. Most are of B-24's but I think there is some B-17 nose art in there too.
  21. The term we use at my engineering office is SWAG, Scientific Wild Ass Guess.
  22. I'm just wondering if DCS:W's new bonus program could be tweaked a little to work for the backer rewards? From Wag's announcement It would be nice if we could register as a backer to receive our rewards. Like everyone else, I have no clue on the status of the backer webpage but assuming the worse case maybe this could be the quickest solution.
  23. +1 Thanks for finding those post. I know I read something about it on the Kickstarter home page but I think it has been revised since I was unable to find any statement that related to these post.
  24. I have to agree lol, looking good though!
  25. During the kickstarter it was said that the 190 and p-51 from DCS World will be flyable in DCS WWII. It is also my understanding that any DCS WWII plane can be flown in DCS World. But everything is subject to change, right...
