  1. Not to take anything away from the MFG Crosswinds the Mk.IV's fit my use better. Why? More compact - I have limited under desk leg/foot space available. I fly helis 99.99% & like moving my foot & ankle instead of my leg - I get more precise movements w/ limited "dead space" around center. I'm afraid I'm goin to have part company w/ my Crosswinds as they have been a good faithful companion:(( That allll said, I'm usin the pedals plug & play out of the box & experiencing "freeze up". Have to close down sim that's currently running & restart. NOT cool when transporting troops into battle & have to manuver quickly into a tight LZ. I'm thinkin it's time to download the.current software / firmware & configurators but havin one heck of a time tryin to figure out WHERE TO START figuring out which links to download in the correct order. Can someone pls help me out.
  2. "The thing that is time consuming is setting up your appropriate peripheral and its inputs in the options menu." True, it does take some time - if you get that far. I don't want to sound like an idiot but my prob was tryin to figure out where (SSD or HD) to put what (downloaded files). I usually have a friend or relative help me out but everybody was out of town:( So I struggled for a wk to get the right hand talkin to the left hand, so to speak. Yeah, it was good for me to KNOW where everything is on my system. In fact, I still don't know if I put everything where it should go to make the game run efficiently. All I know for sure is it that when I click on "DCS" the game starts :) Heck, if you know what you're doin - 1/2 hr at tops! Does it have to be that way? NOT so w/ other sims ie P3D, X-Plane, IL2, just to mention a couple. Just sayin
  3. Please move this post to the appropriate thread if you think it's important enough to get good visibility & doesn't belong here. DCS is not one of the best but THE best imo flight simulation games. I've spent many hrs lookin through the forum and googling for game installation instructions. It's easy once you've figured it out & it's installed. In fact TO easy after you've set it up for the 1st time. It opens up a whole new world of flight simulation. Just wonderin,,,,where would someone start if they wanted to install DCS who wasn't familiar setting up the software files. Just maybe a Sticky that has one or two sentences on "Starting Out" or "Installing the Software". Just wonderin! The manual is great once all the files are correctly downloaded & installed.
  4. Put 1-7 in DCS World which was on my SS drive under Program Files => Eagle Dynamics => DCS World => (sub folders) DCS => DCS World 1.2.16 Guess I'll have to install 1.5 to fly Black Shark II? So this is my plan: - Leave my sub folder "DCS World 1.2.16" alone. - Download 1.5 into a new folder along side of "DCS World 1.2.16" calling it "DCS World 1.5" Does my plan look doable?
  5. Can you direct me to instructions on how to do a "complete & clean" uninstall. Thanks so much for you help.
  6. I know this thread is for 1.5. My problem is w/ 1.2.x download. Everything was running fine until I tried to update to 1.5. My "DCS World" icons went away??? So I went back & installed 1.2.x. Everything went good. Got all my desktop icons back. Now when I click on the "DCS World" icon I get this Windows window: "DCS has stopped working" right below that is "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available". Then it has a "Close program" at the bottom of the window box. I've ran the "Repair DCS World" and "Update DCS World" w/ no problems. I would really like to start flyin again. Any suggestions?
  7. I accidentally "Unpinned" my "G" Generic Mod Enabler w/ all my current mods. Where do I find it to "Re-Pin" it back to the task bar?
  8. Yurgon #56 - that's what i was waitin for. Thanks for askin the ? Chic
  9. InRideo - need same help. What is the link to the MP server you're using?
  10. Sorry I'm a bit late to the party. Can someone direct me to some virtual groups flyin the Huey?
  11. Once I figured out what & where "Module Manager" was I found where it was I found it sittin right there in the middle of the page waitin for me to click on run. I was tryin to re-order the sim from the "Products Page" & it was loading the cart w/ the sim. Thanks to both of you for your prompt attention/help. Nothing is more frustrating than being "stupid". I've got every module w/ exception of "Combined Arms".
  12. Just paid for Black Shark 2 and was downloading it and got interrupted with message sying i needed to update DSC World to the latest version. Message said I could download at a latter date after updating DCS World. Well i updated DCS World but unable to download it again without paying for it again???? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
  13. ================================ Ok yeah, just keep headin West into CA.
  14. There is more than desert & Las Wages in NV. Ck out some of the lakes (Mead, Tahoe, Walker, Box etc) and some pretty good scenery up against the Sierra's although don't know how much of that will be included.
  15. I don't know if anyone is reading this thread anymore. I'll go ahead put in my 2 cents and hopefully help someone else out. I experienced the same "road block" as the 1st poster did. What the heck is an "Associate Configuration"??? I read through the manual twice when I first got my Thrustmaster Hotas and it didn't make any more sense the 2nd time through than it did the first time through. Solution: The explanation on how to create an "Associate Configuration" starts out on p. 12 of the manual. That makes a lot of sense. You'll also find how to create the "Path" on the same page. Like someone mentioned previously, you 1st have to create your Associate Configuration before you "Fly Now". I really screwed things up from the beginning. I didn't know a "Path" from a "Associate Configuration". The manual didn't explain how to do JACK up to p.3 SO I forced both Path & Associate Configuration to the point where it loaded the "Title" right where it was suppose to (under "Fly Now") but also tagged the Title w/ the incorrect Path & Associate Configuration file garbage I created & forced entered. So now I couldn't delete the Title & every time I clicked on "Delete" I kept getting a "Target Error" message in the middle of the page then the GUI closed out. Pretty stupid uh? I posted on several forums & got nowhere. I emailed Thrustmaster support instead of phoning in. They hung in w/ me & came up w/ a solution on how to delete the faked profile I created. Solution as they wrote it exactly : Try finding your TARGET configuration at the following location: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Thrustmaster\TARGET Profiles created through Fly now are saved here. Go here, remove the XML file having the name of that faulty configuration and then lunch the TARGET software. BINGO!!! You guys are probably scratching your heads wondering "how in the heck did this idiot screw things up this bad"! The learning curve has been steep for me. I've been like a "dog on a bone" and haven't given up & keep on keepin on simming. Not that I don't have some problems w/ trying to figuring things out - DCS has given me many hrs of enjoyment. Hope this helps someone.
  16. Anyone come up w/ a teflon o-ring? If so where can we source one?
