  1. I'm putting this in the general forum rather than bugs because I'm assuming it is pilot error and I'm hoping somebody can explain it to me. A few times now I've taken off in the 21 but have no roll authority. It's not an input problem as the stick in the cockpit moves to match my inputs, the aircraft just doesn't respond. Pitch is fine obviously as I'd never have got it off the ground. The only thing I can suggest is I have cold started on all the missions where its been a problem. Could I have missed a switch or gone through the process too fast? Any help or suggestions would be welcome. Thanks.
  2. Not just the DACT, all the FC2 missions. Fortunately they have been uploaded for us; http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=159040
  3. Thanks for that Kunz.
  4. I've still got my install of FC2 so I still have the missions thanks. A couple of my favourites weren't in the FC3 install anyway. I wonder if it was for compatibility reasons that they were removed or if it was a mistake?
  5. Might just be I've misplaced them but if you navigated up from the FC3 single missions folder I'm sure there used to be an FC2 folder that imported most of the missions including all the F15 DACT training from Flaming Cliffs 2. But since the 1.5 update they seem to have vanished. I don't think its my imagination. Can somebody confirm they used to be there and that they have gone or moved? Thanks.
  6. Also having this problem. My desktop is set to 2560x1440 ( anything higher and most things become to small to read ) but DCS runs at 3840x2160 and I lose the bottom and right side of the screen. It's easy enough to change resolution anytime I want to play but it would be nice if I didn't have to.
  7. My understanding is afterburner is standard practice but if you have sufficient runway distance, based on your payload, you are not required to use it.
  8. Isn't the best option to include it on a "special" realism setting like take off assist. That way everybody can play it as they choose.
  9. No help I'm afraid, just a similar story. My X52 Pro always worked perfectly on XP but with an upgrade to Win 7 64 bit I lost the used of the MFDs too. It seems to be a widespread problem with Win 7 as over the past couple of years I've heard a lot of people reporting this and similar but it seems to be a pure lottery if you get it working or not.
  10. I used a twist stick for years but having made the jump to rudder pedals I wouldn't go back. It probably depends on what you fly but for helos and WWI aircraft ( Rise of Flight ) it is vastly superior.
  11. I have the X52 Pro and it works fine for me ( at least on the SU25 and F15 ) but I have two thoughts; a) I have it configured under axis assign>view where it shows as slider 1. b) Do you have a TrackIr because it can also bind zoom to the Trackir Z axis? If so go into the trackir settings and clear the zoom functions tied to it.
  12. Just as a thought, is there any thread here where we can pull together links or reference materials? Not DCS specific material but articles or videos about real world training and tactics. There is a lot of good material out there that I'm sure a lot of us could learn from.
  13. Deredo, I know where you're coming from. Much as I love DCS I have had to wonder sometimes about some of the missions I've played. A few are, I feel very unfair, and at least a couple I don't believe can be beaten on full realism. Also, coming from F4 BMS I also feel that briefing and planing is lacking. A lot of missions seem quite happy to fly you straight through the most defended areas and then have you attack the target from the worst approach possible. Don't be afraid to use the mission planner to change the waypoints or loadout if you feel they are unsuitable. Also, if you dont have it I would strongly suggest getting Tacview. I find it invaluable for post mission analysis. Lastly, I have to admit to simply editing a number of missions to make them more achievable. Some may consider it cheating but, as I said earlier, there have been a couple of missions which I just don't know if they are actually possible in their present form.
  14. I'd second what CommDante suggested. Use the mission editor. Create your own missions and use a building block approach. Depending on your experience work your way up through various skills; BFM, gun fighting, heat seekers, missile avoidance etc. until you have the confidence on each individual aspect of your chosen plane. When I was first getting to grips with DCS ( or LOMAC, I forget when ) I could handle a lot of the elements but SAMS and missiles would overwhelm me. I set myself up a mission where I was airborne just beyond the range of a basic SAM. I kept flying into its range and getting shot down. It didn't matter, I could restart and try again in seconds. Eventually I stopped getting shot down ( usually ). Then I improved the defences and tried again. After a time I was happy with missile avoidance and evasion. Do the same for whatever you feel you need to work on. Also, there are plenty of good resources online to answer most questions and offer tactics. Reading and watching videos can be just as useful as time spent in the cockpit. Mostly just don't be afraid to keep repeating until it becomes second nature.
  15. I'm sure somebody who knows better can confirm but I think the size of the moon is realistic, it's the effect of squeezing a decent field of view onto a monitor.
  16. Ah well, I could only get it working properly with my Pro clip but mayby that was just user error on my part. Either way, been using my pro clip for three years with no problems or breakages.
  17. Sorry, badly phrased. You get six degrees of freedom, only with the Pro clip. As I recall the vector clip only supports four degrees. That may be unique to F4 BMS but I couldn't say. Once I started with the Pro Clip I never went back.
  18. I've got the track clip pro and I've never had any problems. It's only recently I've even heard any complaints about it. I do know that on Falcon 4 BMS at least you can only get six degrees of freedom with the pro. Don't know about other titles but functionality may be limited with the vector clip.
  19. You've found the right manual. The Su-25T does have a sim mode but it's not like the other modules you mention. It, like all the Flaming Cliffs aircraft are "Survey sims" as opposed to the "study sims" you seem to be used to. They're still realistic but nowhere near as detailed and lack the virtual cockpits, making much greater use of the keyboard. In the SU-25T for example from cold start CTRL-C closes your cockpits, one more button turns on electrics then a button each for the two engines. A long way from the 90+ steps for Black Shark. Having said that the systems, capabilities and limits for the aircraft are still realistic so in that sense they are still sims. The SU-25T is a fun little plane as well and coming from the Black Shark you'll recognise several of the systems and be putting it to use in no time.
  20. Like a lot of people I too had problems to begin with. Have you set the display to "Camera view"? and tried moving your head around. Once I did that I was able to vary camera positions and clip angles until I was satisfied it could see all angles clearly, until then I'd get an occasional dropout of from certain angles. Once you get the thing working properly you'll wonder how you ever did without it.
  21. Here's hoping. I think DCS already does rolling and pitching ships fine but it does need to have the sea state look like its changing with the weather. Even without carrier ops it just gives a better sense of what is going on in the world.
  22. After the Ka-50 didn't the Russian government step in and stop them from doing any more Russian front line aircraft to that level of detail? Might just be forum gossip but I understood that that was part of the reason why we are getting more NATO or older soviet aircraft.
  23. I've just tested going through Downloads-Modules and I can download it fine without being asked for a key so no idea why your friend should have a problem. Can't see why it would matter but is he signed in? It will show his name at the top right.
  24. Here's a partial solution; http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1412130/?sphrase_id=1875532
  25. First guess would be the missions are configured to prevent that. Aside from setting "unlimited fuel" have you also clicked "Use these settings for all missions" to override the mission defaults?
