  1. 6th June. How could they pass it up?
  2. Dresoccer4, I believe it is possible to edit the campaign save but you can also open them as individual missions. Except for dynamic campaigns I stopped playing campaigns as campaigns a while back as I'd been hung up too many bugs which stopped progress. Given that there is no progress the only thing you'll lose by playing missions individually is a tally of completed campaigns in your log book.
  3. I think he's saying the altimeter determines altitude by air pressure but air pressure is broken or not set properly?
  4. Figured it out. I didn't fly close enough to the outpost on the first leg so none of the following triggers fired. I am enjoying this campaign but I do feel it's too easy to break the missions.
  5. Unless it's changed in an update I don't think TISL was in use. It was a legacy system that has been replaced in the A10-C though the hardware remains.
  6. Any tips? I can't even find the Hinds. I've got the radio tuned and fly to what seems to be the meeting point ( fork in the road leading to Otkritka or the tunnel ) but no sign of them. Using F2 to check exterior views and they're not flying.
  7. Tried to post a few images but couldn't get it to work. No matter, plenty on Google and I'm pleased to see a few models of the "Drey Spitfire "too.
  8. I've just finished the campaign this morning and just wanted to share a few thoughts. First, thank you to all involved with the module. The Mi-8 is a challenging but rewarding aircraft. I feel I still have a lot to learn before I can claim to have mastered it but I've got much better, know how to avoid the worst problems, and generally feel happy with flying her. Overall, I enjoyed the campaign too. A nice mix of tasks making allowing for the fact this isn't a state of the art attack helo. Overall I felt the challenge was fair and I was never asked to do anything daft. My only complaint was that sometimes the way these tasks was communicated was quite poor. The grid system was near useless. Maybe on a larger monitor or lower resolution the maps might have worked but for me the briefings were so small as to be near useless. Additionally, the directions given in some missions was pretty poor. The last mission in particular, attack the farm house between the school and the five story building. Which one is a school? I'm supposed to watch the tracer fire but it isn't going anywhere near something that fits that description and occasionally goes in the opposite direction. And land on the supermarket to the right of the road. Again, which one is a supermarket? And to the right? As it happens I was facing the other way so it was to my left. I always figured them out but the few frustrations I had were when I didn't know what to do or where to go. Overall then, a thumbs up but better briefings and communication would certainly help some missions.
  9. I've not managed to even get that far. Three goes and the lead flight always outruns me ending the mission. Not sure how to squeeze any more speed out of the MI-8 except to mayby just let the generator fail and fly without power.
  10. As Riporen says the module downloads through DCS. On the main title page, where it says DCS World on the top left, the module manager is the first icon, looks like a 3x3 grid.
  11. I've only recently learnt the A10-C myself and it is a complex aircraft with lots of systems. However, you won't be using all the systems at once and you can do a lot with only a few systems. Best advice is to break it down into chunks. Learn start-up. Learn take off and landing. Once your happy with them start looking at Navigation. And even there, keep it simple. You have plenty of ways to navigate and many tricks but most of the time you'll just fly basic waypoints so get the hang of them before trying anything fancy. It'll take a while but you should enjoy it and before you know it you'll be ready to blow stuff up and wondering what all the fuss was about.
  12. I seem to remember a story that the first Vietnamese pilot to see an F4 reported as being on fire when he saw the smoke trail.
  13. I've maybe misunderstood something in this mission but when we get the emergency call the troops under fire report their position as 51-93. Initially I was confused because I though this was sector 51 grid 93. However even having figured out what they mean I'm still slightly lost as the Y coords are missing off the left hand side of the screen. I've peeked and figured out where they are for next time but an update to the briefing map might be in order?
  14. You're one up on me then. I never even had the confirmation. And yet there is life there because the website updated the promo price 'til March 2017 so somebody must be there.
  15. No joy for me. I'm guessing this mission may have been broken with DCS updates. I get the first two instructions telling me to taxi to the runway, then to the green smoke. Nothing after that. I tried to edit the trigger and get the instruction to hover but again, after that, nothing happens.
  16. Just looking for a little clarification on this one. How am I being rated? On my following the flight plan or on my formation flying. I ask because my flight leader is a little erratic in his speed and altitude flying and I just got failed for following him when he shot above the altitude limit. In short, can I largely ignore him and just hit the waypoints and still expect a pass? Thanks. Update. I didn't worry about flying too close, just focused on the waypoints and made Q-. So, that's me Basic Flight Qualifed. A really interesting campaign. Sometimes frustrating but I feel I now know the A10-C better than any other aircraft. And I still have the advanced course to go. A big thank you to all who made this module.
  17. I barely understand what you said but I'm glad you've solved it. Enjoy flying with your Helios.
  18. LaLa, don't know what to suggest but within a couple of seconds I've got 06, 15 and SD warnings. Can't think why you're getting nothing. Out of curiosity, do you have any other modules? Try different aircraft and see if it's an A10-C specific problem.
  19. Bear in mind also that the RWR only gives full coverage on the horizontal plane. It has blind areas above and below the aircraft so flying over a radar won't trip an alarm. Make sure your a distance from an emitter as Feefifofum suggested and see if you have more luck.
  20. Having a few problems with this mission myself. I keep straying out of the military operations zone while setting my coordinates. I'll sometimes get a warning if I approach the edge but not always. I feel the waypoints are maybe a bit too tight to the edge if your not fast enough changing course to the new destination.
  21. Well, I've flown a lot more missions with no more problems so who knows? Hopefully all will continue fine. Thanks for your comments and advice though.
  22. The BFT campaign is set on the Caucuses map which isn't presently supported in DCS 2.0. At the moment each version supports one map; 1.5 Caucuses, 2.0 Nevada. Likewise each campaign in set on a specific map, Red Flag for example is in Nevada. So depending which version of DCS you play you are limited to that map and the appropriate campaigns. This will be sorted when 2.0 comes out of beta and both maps and all campaigns will be supported in the one version.
  23. On BFT05 my briefing on objective 2 tells me to "perform decent". I'm assuming that should be "perform descent". Either that or he's just telling me to be properly dressed.
  24. Just finished the practice mission. Pretty obvious in hindsight but I'll remember to watch the waypoints in the future. Thanks.
  25. Thanks. I'd suspected the waypoints but I found as I played I had an increasing variation between the waypoint heading and the instructed heading to a point where I couldn't make both. I'll try focusing more on the waypoints and less on the instructor.
