Great, now i will have MP look like SP cuz all the good servers that have people are around 150 ping for me

+Balkan region would be nice too... :pilotfly::joystick:

I`m not pro or against it but i have to admit that flying jet or Ka-50 i can spot a plane far away. I can see either a dot or a smoke trail. I did not flew against pistons to tell. Just to compare to real life seems impossible to me cuz you would need to compress eyesight in reality to a 22 or 24" screen. Maybe that is the reason we seem to have objects looking under scaled and small. That`s why we have zoom. Also in reality i have problem spotting commercial jets if it is cloudy and if i drive and don`t have my eyes on "target" whole time so it takes time to spot them again. RoF had some sort of smart scaling where you see planes miles away but i don`t know would it work here???? p.s. Hail to DBS :)

Yeah, and that too

:) nevertheless, we can agree that if landing procedures are followed, we don`t need brakes. Brakes are often used for small corrections, and after touch down to slow the plane down.

Thanks GGTharos for clearing things

I watched the videos and those were nice landings but i saw that whoever was landing was playing with brakes as well, 1st video at 1:17 and i could hear it later on. I could be mistaken tho. What i found interesting even more was what you wrote. "First up, overhead break to landing. Aircraft gross weight should be less than 36000lbs for the 44th standard, in RL this standard is set by the squadron." Could that be the reason for deploying brakes or not to deploy??? Squadron standard???

I`ve read the posts here on the matter and now i`m bit confused. Could be i was doing it wrong too. My landing is always with brakes on cuz i always throttle up just before touch down cuz i feel that my plane is dropping to fast on glide and i think landing gears would break. My glide speed in eagle is 150-180 kts. After all no matter what plane i fly i always use the brakes cuz of that final thrust. It does not speed up too fast with brakes on but it softens the landing. I looked up on tube and found out that actually lot of RL pilots use it. with brakes ${1} without brakes ${1} I think, that like someone said before, it`s all up to pilots decision. For me personally any landing (with or with out brakes) that your plane is without damage and you can walk away from is good landing and procedure was good

Public inquiry. What is your PC video card?

Guys thanks for the big help. I found that my mistake was at idle throttle. All i need to do was get my throttle all the way down. Also as winchesterdelta said "pumping" helps a lot if you do it just right. Releasing brakes when the plane is about to lose it is thing i must practice a bit more. But now with throttle settled gets my plane to stop in middle of the strip. Thank you all. :)

1.) Did u try using W for wheel brake? Did u invert the axis for wheel brakes? I found that on default, when depressed, the brakes are actually off. "CTRL+ENTER" in cockpit view and viewing the axis inputs is useful as well to get a gauge of the braking. But yeah...I am having issues of running out of runway as well when using pedal brakes. But with "W" I can stop. -I invert brakes and they work cuz i throttle up with brakes before takeoff. Plane pitches forward and start to shake i bit before i let go. "W" seems not to work as before but i will try with ctrl+ENTER to see what is going on. 2.) Pump the brakes. And come in about 150 to 180. And don't steer to much above 40miles or knts (i'm not sure). At least that's what i do. I even can land on the small airfields now. But i still need some practicing with landing myself. My landings don't deserve a beauty price. -Tried that as well and it also takes to long and i do tend not to steer but braking makes my plane sway left or right so at the end i use rudder to correct which brings me to skidding again. What i could of been missing here is throttle. I use X-52 Pro throttle 2 bumps you can feel inside when throttling. 1st bump is low and it simulates throttle going from shutdown to idle. The second bump you feel is way above which simulates going from 100% power to full AFT. On landing my throttle is set to idle. Maybe if i go all the way down with it would be better solution????

I think something is very wrong with brakes and front wheel lock (nose gear steering disengage seems not functional). No matter how slow my final approach is i use all my strip to brake and at the end when speed is reduced i start skidding all over. Touchdown is somewhere in 170kts around 280kph when i look on track. Landing it self is perfect but braking is hell ride. AI however does the same and he successfully brakes in first third of strip. Did i miss on something? :helpsmilie: p.s. i use rudder brakes. Left and right but i apply same amount equally and slowly turning up the pressure to avoid skid. But at the end i go all the way cuz there is no more strip to ride on :)

Just a word of a advice guys. Leave politics outside because it will only make more problems.

I could not take off until patch 1.2.7. My right engine would be destroyed by AKs no matter what i tried. After 1.2.7. patch success on first try. So i guess they fixed it in 1.2.7. patch. :)
-
Thank you Mustang, that helped. Textures are back.
-
Can someone help me how to get this fixed. Seems that all files are there. Compared it to 1.2.7. beta install that i have and in beta it works but in regular DCSW it does not work at all. Am i missing something here???

How to Take Off and Blow Up Stuff Guide Problems
Nage replied to Gloom Demon's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Gloom there is only one knob to turn ON CMD. There are two but when you look at them left one is ON/OFF switch and right one is TEST switch -
Ka-50 and Su-25 has laser that heats up and shuts down automatically. In Ka-50 happened to me when i forget to turn off laser while scanning the area and not attacking. The vikhr missile it self kind of tracks the beam for a while then on half way it goes bezerk and lands in field nowhere near target. So it is good to have it turned off when you don`t need it. In Su-25 only vikhrs turns on laser automatically every other type must be also switched ON manually but if the laser goes offline you will get a flashing message on HUD. Talking as i remember this, so, i hope i helped if not, please, someone correct me.

I`m interested in this Total war scenario. What server is it?
-
Balion, zhank you very much for explanation sir. Makes sense now.

Yes i was flying with the collective but then i wondered what is the proper usage of the collective with throttle because the throttle can be both at 0 and 100% with quite same effects.
-
Well i`m puzzled. Although i can fly BS achieving top speed by using collective i`m wondering what is throttle used for then? From what i experienced it increases RPM and by having throttle at 100% or all the way down is same thing, just seems better to have throttle set on medium or as i tested all the way down in Hover mode. Am i doing this right? Is there any proper usage of the throttle in different stages of flight? Does it need to be set at all? p.s. a lot of questions i know :D

uncontrollable random head swivel
Nage replied to fitness88's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I use CH stick with Saitek X52 thrust and along with Saitek rudder Pro. Now, what i have found that by default i.e. the view is set to all three plus headtracker. So in game they can cause mixup. To fix all those default "wrong" settings that were duplicated i deleted the ones i didn`t need. So, check for those kind of double settings and erase the ones u don`t use. -
I voted yes but to be honest i would much rather see an Su-35 ;)
