  1. I pulled the trigger over the weekend. I'm sticking with an Air Cooler. Noctua NH-D15... :-)
  2. thanks. As I've been reading up on this, I'm seeing that as well. The Noctua works great for the 9700, but you definitely want water for the 9900.
  3. Please, someone help... I'm about to pull the trigger... I need someone to counsel me off the ledge... :-) - i7-9700k, Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Ultra, DDR4-3200 CL14 RAM, Samsung 970 Evo Plus.... tossing between the Noctua NH-D15 air cooler, or going water... I've loved using Noctua air in the past... My finger is getting itchy!!!
  4. Totally! ;):smilewink:
  5. Awesome, thanks Bro. I appreciate the info.
  6. beautiful work!
  7. One of my favorite modules. A great little bird. I think you'll enjoy it.
  8. Thanks. I had once toyed with the idea of doing this to my Win8.1 gamer... but I'm a bit worried with all the "goodies" I have loaded on it.
  9. thanks for the info. Also, enough clearance to also take a large air cooler such as Noctua? I prefer air versus watercooled.
  10. Ha! Touche buddy! ;)
  11. Off topic?! no way buddy! plenty of turkey's around here. :-)
  12. Holy smokes! that thing is built like a brick s*** house! :smilewink:
  13. Just curious, for your 7 to 10. Are you performing an upgrade, or a complete new install of the O/S?
  14. Gracias buddy, I appreciate your feedback. :)
  15. Nice rig there buddy. Hope that's a color TV (and not B/W). ;):megalol:
  16. ^THIS! and it's easy to setup and use.
  17. and if the VR performance improvement comes through very soon, I probably could wait it out.
  18. One thing I do have, is time. :) I usually spend a month or two researching big ticket items, and then pull the trigger.

    Ugh

    oh man, bummer!
  20. Being a Dutch crewed aircraft, do they come with multiple coffee cup holders?? (I work with a lot of folks in the NL's, sorry, can't help myself). ;) Very nice skins!
  21. Lots buddy! For my gamer rig, I'm generally using it for flying DCS about 85-90% of the time. Followed by that other flight sim, and then ArmA3 and other VR titles... ;)
  22. thanks for the case suggestion. Will research it further. I've heard of EUTW, but have not played it. Going with Win10 because of the driver and binary support... ;) Otherwise, I'd stick with Win8.1. (yep, it's been a great O/S for me). I'm flipping a coin... i7-9700k or i9-9900k. the later being about $80 more...
  23. Hola group, I've been running my current rig for the last 5 years, (specs are in the sig). Kinda getting the bug to upgrade. Would appreciate feedback regarding a proposed gamer BOM. What I thought of buying new: i7-9700k Noctua NH-D15 CPU cooler Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Ultra MB 32GB (2x16) DDR4 RAM (curious to hear a recommendation) 500GB NVMe M.2 SSD (Samsung?) Seasonic Prime Ultra 750W titanium Power Supply Win 10 Pro... Computer case (hunting around for this as well) I plan to reuse these for a bit: GTX 1080 (until a later date) Soundblaster Z sound card Oculus Rift CV1 (to be replaced at a later date as well) Would appreciate some feedback and guidance. TIA, -Jav ps. the rig will be dedicated to DCS, ArmA3, the other flight sim, and anything VR.... :-)
  24. No pressure buddy, honest! You're a guy focused on QA! All for that. Thanks again for all your efforts. We'll wait until you bless things, so no worries.
