HAve you assigned zoom to an axis? I had something like that happen when set zoom to a controller axis and forgot about it. Every time i nudged the controller it would zoom right back in again even tho i thought zoom was only mapped to flight stick.

I had that issue when downloaded last modules.. Idk if my antivirus interfered with the 1st unlock or if it does it 2x, once for offline then online mode.

Is the show open for anyone to fly?

Steam purchases when already have direct buy DCS sims? Hi there, im about to buy a few modules in the steam sale but wondering how it will work with keys bought direct from DCS in past? Does the steam key unlock the direct download module directly or do i need to download DCS world again through Steam and have 2x copy of game to play? Thx for help.

No problem, just remember to download the correct version you had before - Home/Pro/Ultimate etc, the key will activate both 32 and 64 bit just whatever needed. You might also need to activate over the phone as some OEM keys are funny about doing it automatically but is only a 2 minute automated free phone call.

Hi there, ive just added FC3 to my collection and was wondering which craft has AFM and 6dof cockpit? I know that some of them still use a basic FM but when roughly are they getting upgraded, most of them over this year or over a longer period? I was also wondering about modding the FM on these craft for offline silly speeds or etc etc. I was going to use the free F-18 mod and maybe edit that but does it share the F-15 FM files or make a separate copy for itself? I want to try modding but not break jets i would use online.. Thanks.

Hi there, i just noticed that the the multiplayer menu puts huge load on the system when minimized but not searching or updating list. The issue isnt there at the single player main menu but if i minimize multiplayer main menu/server browser i get 25-35% cpu load on a quad core. Sitting at the MP browser is fine and uses no cpu really but when minimized it puts cpu under quite a bit load and makes pc fans get faster. I assume this is a bug as theres nothing really to a server browser and uses under 5% when maximized and searching.

Yes you should be able to get a little overclocking on the standard cooler. Google the cpu type and see what other people are managing on the stock cooler. Did the card overclock ok?

Id start off making smaller adjustments 1st just to see how it goes to begin with. maybe upping the speeds 50 mhz a time then trying in game for 5 to see how well it works. The card will run a little hotter but will be fine unless trying to double its speed or something lol. 1000/1250 seems to be a reasonable balance and people online are getting more than that easily, tho no need to push it to its limits. Too much overclock can make glitches or crashes happen but only when going to the extremes of the cards limits. Only thing that could be a problem is a cheap psu as they tend to not deliver advertised power, any decent brand name would be ok tho.

Overclocking on AMD cards is easy and built into CCC. You could get 20-30% extra performance for free out the card. Almost to 7950 performance and thats a $350-400 card. Just launch CCC go to performance tab and into AMD Overdrive. Stock i think its 875 mhz/1200 memory, it should handle 1000 mhz/1250 mhz memory easily and people are pushing them much higher still..

Im not sure thats the case. Sure he has below minimum ram requirements but even using 64 bit Windows would leave about 3GB free for DCS. Ive dont think ive seen DCS go over 2GB memory usage in a few tests i ran from easy to hard busy missions with most gfx settings maxed. Although theres a 64 bit exe for DCS it seems to use memory as if its still a 32 bit app limited to 2GB ram usage. More memory wouldnt make much difference when the cpu has less power than a 1st gen Intel i3 or a gpu based on a rebranded 8800 GTS from 7 years ago thats worth about $50.

It might be worth waiting for the Edge gfx engine update. The 7850 is still a decent card and you would only really make a slight difference in DCS for $175 but not other games really. Are you running 1.2.7 as i got a huge increase in performance with it on my AMD card. The 7850 should overclock well too so might be worth looking into until the new engine is out. Its not worth spending $175 for a slight improvement in one game imo. You might be able to overclock the cpu too which would help loads on a AMD cpu.

How much do you want to spend? That motherboard you have should support up to Phenom x4 black edition cpu and 4 sticks of ddr3 ram. Should be able to get a Phenom x4 BE, GTX 760 and extra 4GB ram for under $400 Check compatibility 1st with the motherboard. Edit: Or something like a HD 7790, X4 BE and 4GB ram for about $250-$270

Id say the gpu is a bit weak too unless playing at really low resolution and low settings. My old HD 5850 didnt perform too well in DCS World and it was about 2x as powerful as your card.

Yes i thought so, i have the hat control charts printed out from the manual but it wasnt working every time and thought i had some setting wrong. I think it could be my stick dropping button presses or holds sometimes as i also have random problems turning on autopilot. Sometimes it will switch on at every press and sometimes takes several presses even when flying level and with no control inputs.

On 3 screens, about the same or worse fps as the 6870 on 1 screen 1080p probably. Maybe better with the GTX 770.

Cool, thanks again. One last thing lol, when trying to boresight the TGP, sometimes it seems to align out the side of the craft instead of to middle of hud, is this where its supposed to go or am i doing the wrong thing?

Not the bios but the hardware drivers in Windows. Windows will install basic out of date drivers from the install disc and they are not ideal. The motherboard site will have the latest drivers for it. Do you use Windows Update for graphics and sound drivers or download them direct from part makers site?

Ah sweet thanks guys. I have moved over to the Instant action missions and its much easier now, i can avoid almost all threats if i stay high enough on the easy ones anyways. One thing i was curious about and i might just need to retake the training, but when trying to drop unguided bombs the sights are very low on the hud, sometimes off the bottom even when flying low. I managed to drop a bomb onto target but the reticule only slowly appeared from the bottom of the hud within a second of needing to release. Is it the gun systems thats pushing the nose high and forcing the bomb reticule lower on the hud or is there another setting for lowering the AoA so can see the reticule for longer? Also with the editor, is it possible to create missions that play out without players taking part, to create a battle that you can spectate without flying? Thx again.
