Typhoon, what a monster! Not the best Documentary but still. "Potential nuclear accident" sensationalism about every 90 seconds bs. Any other decent Docs about Russian subs out there?

I actually thought i was getting slightly better fps using the beta drivers compared to older ones except for the gfx glitches on the map. I still get big fps hits when lots of people flying around at airports but when just alone or on ramp during startup i get a much smoother, higher fps in-game.

Yea the more ive used 8.1 the more issues im running into. Pretty much every game i have installed should support the Xbox 360 controller but since going from Win 7 to 8.1 about 1/2 of them dont work with the controller anymore. Im also running into an issue with some installers or background services that make the pc grind to a halt while thrashing the hard drive. Even making the mouse and desktop hang for minutes at a time before bursting back into life, ive sen this happen a few times on this machine and on my gf new laptop that came with 8.1. Ive pretty much returned to using Win 7 in dual boot for most games and serious apps as 8.1 seems a bit 'rigged and rough around the edges. Just waiting for free weekend so can get this 8.1 turd off the system altogether. I also dont like the fact that a load of services like the Metro Store service, Windows Defender or other major services cant be controlled by any acct on the computer now and theres no way to disable them even using reg hacks.

Haha thanks, yea im a bit crap at explaining things properly. It was mostly to get a text notice on screen about what actions i was taking similar to when auto startup scrolls through what its doing. Flashing up things like "APU Start, Right Engine Select, Airbrake open/closed, Door Closed" etc etc at top of screen. Would help a bit due to mincing the keys/controls while in a panic and not having a quick way to see what ive changed.

You could probably break teeth if biting a hard straw and someone nudges your arm or etc etc.

Hi there, i was wondering if theres a way to flash onscreen what buttons and switches im changing? Its mostly to see if the stick commands are taking place or if i missed the button or etc etc, will also help with the FC3 craft as they have static cockpits. Is there a way to turn this on so it displays the button presses like when you use auto start and it flashes everything up that its doing? Would make things easier instead of having to look down all the time to see if the controllers button presses got detected or not. Thanks for look.

You can turn on head g effects in options and theres a vibration key command to turn on minor vibrations, although idk if they are on by default and the key command is to turn them off. "Camera jiggle toggle" Left Shift-j

Im sure the "Not SOI" is always displayed until made SOI. I think its basically the display indicator on whats selected or not.

Question about Thrustmaster T-Flight Hostas X
Gerg replied to _Shamrock_'s topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I was going to get the HOTAS X but opted for the Thrustmaster T-16000m instead. Its not hotas but is more accurate (allegedly) with its hall sensors and is a more modern design than the 10+ years old Hotas X. The Hotas X supposed has a big deadzone and low accuracy which would effect minor adjustments in flying and the wire between them is a bit short will only stretch to just wider than a keyboard, not far enough to put on both sides of a chair. I fly with Stick on right, Thrustmaster pad on left and keyboard on lap. -
I was going to buy that stick but opted for a Thrustmaster T-16000m. I spent a while researching between them and the T-16000 was more accurate and had a tiny or zero deadzone while the Hotas X supposedly has a large deadzone and poor accuracy. The Hotas X is based on a 10 year+ old design too while the T-16000 uses hall effect sensors and is a much more recent design. That stupid green light only takes 2 minutes to chop out too lol.

Changing cpu would be pointless as there is only a tiny bit difference in performance over last few generations, under 3% difference in gaming between a 2500k and 4770k. The 2500k will probably overclock higher than a 4770k too so would end up with a worse performing cpu for $400 outlay.

Hi there, i was wondering if theres a key combo to open the door behind the middle crew member? In lots of vids on youtube of the mi8 the door seems to be left open and can see through length of craft. Is this possible in the game or will it be added when coming out of beta? Would be cool to see though back and out side windows from cockpit to really appreciate the size and modeled interior of the mi8.

Difference between TV or Monitor for playing
Gerg replied to rajdary's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Im not sure about the 200hz vs others but i switched from a 20 inch monitor to a 40 inch tv and ive no regrets. It was a basic 1080p LG tv and it had loads of options for supporting pc formats without any issues. Things like full rgb, multi resolutions and super black that can be activated on the tv and in AMD drivers. Just wish id waited for the sales as could have got a 57 inch for only £40 more lol. -
For some reason since today im either getting the load delay, a crash part way through the delay or the game is popping up the activation screen asking to activate the product. This is randomly happening either when launching the game or when starting to load a mission. If it asks for activation and i click Ok, it then tells me the product is already activated and if id like to continue without activating again. Clicking dont activate again lets the game load as normal. Ive changed nothing on pc over last few days but the issue is happening more and more. almost 50% of the time i launch now results in a crash or maybe 1 out of 10 time i get the activation screen. When loaded everything works fine, just this issue when loading..

Hi there, im trying to set up FaceTrackNOIR but cant get it to work ingame. Ive managed to get it working on the desktop tracking my face fine and even in the game options it lets me set up the controls and moves the assigned axis. Only problem is when a mission starts it doesnt work anymore. Even in the control settings the axis fails to move at all. When i quit back to main menu everything works again in options? Is there a button to enable it in mission or is there another bug thats stopping the axis responding once a mission is loaded? Thanks for help.

What sort of temps does it get when running furmark? If the computer is a few years old it could be the heatsinks are loaded with dust. What sort of fan arrangement is in the case?

Hi there, after the last couple of updates in last few days a big delay has appeared when the splash screen appears. The issue 1st appeared in multiplayer only but since the launcher updated today its now in both modes. Instead of seeing the splash screen for 1 or 2 seconds, it now stays on screen for over 30 seconds doing no hard drive work. It will even flash up as unresponsive for a few seconds before continuing load up. After running a trace on the exe the problem appears right after the game checks a10.dll, right after it there is a delay and then it creates 2x threads and continues loading fine.

[DCSW: Mi-8MTV2] English Cockpit Mod
Gerg replied to Devrim's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Will this be updated for 1.2.7.23803 since it says its only for 1.2.7.23097? EDIT: Ah nvm lol it works, just dont copy txt file into the zip file. -
Yea id just overclock the cpu and get a new gpu. Overclocking is what the K series cpu was designed for so dont let it go to waste lol, its 30%+ extra performance for nothing. The 2500k is still a decent cpu and the performance gap between it and the newest Haswell cpu is under 10% difference in most apps.
